What's new

Forever Quest Tracker

1.4.111

  • In dungeons the tracker no longer throws a Lua error over and over while mobs with nameplates are around. The game hides some names there, and FQT now skips a hidden name instead of reading it. Nothing on screen changes.
  • Inside a dungeon or raid, Current Zone now lists only the quests filed under that dungeon in your quest log. Quests from other zones, like Barrens or Stonetalon quests that are active or ready to turn in, no longer show up there. All Zones and the other zone choices still list them.

1.4.110

  • Inside a dungeon the zone line and the Current Zone menu now show the dungeon's name instead of "Unknown". If the game gives no name at all, they say Unknown Area.
  • In a dungeon, Current Zone lists the quests filed under that dungeon in your quest log, including ones marked Dungeon or Raid. Outside a dungeon, quests marked Dungeon or Raid still show only in the Dungeons view. The guide arrow and route lines stay off inside dungeons.

1.4.109

  • Quests with a usable item (like the Flutterfly Swatter) now show the item as a small button under the quest's number in the list. Click it to use the item. Hover it to see the item. The button shows the item's stack count, its cooldown, and a red dot and red tint when your target is out of range.
  • Rows with an item button are a little taller so buttons never touch. When any quest has a button, every quest's text lines up after the button.
  • The list doesn't change during a fight, so a quest you pick up mid-fight gets its button when the fight ends. If a button can't be placed yet, a faded copy holds its spot; hover it to see Usable After Combat.
  • While an item button is showing during a fight, sliding the drawer shut or open waits until the fight ends, and the game's "can't do that while in combat" message tells you why. Clicking again and again shows the message only once. Clicking the minimap ! twice during a fight cancels out, so the drawer stays as it was. If Auto-Minimize In Combat is on, the drawer still slides away when the fight starts; the buttons come back after.
  • Up to 8 item buttons show at a time.
  • When an NPC has a quest to turn in and another to give, Auto-Complete turns in the first and Auto-Accept takes the next one in the same talk.
  • Objective lines no longer show the count twice, like "2/5 Flutterfly Dust (2/5)". A long objective never splits its count across two lines: the whole "(n/m)" moves to the next line.

1.4.108

  • Auto-Accept now takes every quest an NPC offers, not just the first. When an NPC has three quests, it takes them one after another.
  • Auto-Accept skips quests you already have and never asks for or accepts the same quest twice, even if the game repeats a window. Two quests with the same name are both taken.
  • Some NPCs close after each quest. Talk to them again to get the next one; add-ons can't start a talk with an NPC for you.

1.4.107

  • Current Zone only shows quests that are really in your zone. The Barrens map also shows a corner of Stonetalon Mountains, and quests up there were getting route numbers, map pins and the arrow. Now they stay out.
  • Invite Nearby also lists players you moused over, targeted or soft-targeted in the last minute, even if they have no nameplate. The newest ones are at the top, and Invite All invites them too.
  • Clicking Invite turns the game's friendly player nameplates on just until your group forms, so Invite Nearby can see the players around you. The list shows Looking For Players... for up to 2 seconds, then the players or No Nearby Players. Your old setting comes back when your group forms, right away if you close the list without inviting, 60 seconds after your last invite if nobody joins, or when you log out. If the game crashes while they're on, they stay on: press Shift-V to turn them off.
  • New in settings: Show Friendly Nameplates, under Invite Nearby, off by default. Tick it to keep friendly nameplates on all the time; untick it to put your old setting back. If you change them yourself (Shift-V), FQT leaves your choice alone. In combat Invite doesn't turn them on, and changes wait until combat ends.
  • The settings window is a little taller to fit the new box.

1.4.106

  • Uses less CPU in combat. The guide arrow only redraws its text when something changes, and quest list updates wait a little during fights. Nothing looks different.
  • Nameplate quest marks forget a mob when its nameplate goes away.

1.4.105

  • Uses less memory while it updates. The list, guide arrow and map route look and work the same.

1.4.104

  • The list waits until a fight is over before it updates, so it never gets in your way in combat.
  • The tracker window no longer uses the old drag code. The drawer still moves the same way.
  • New /fqt debug command shows a few notes if something goes wrong inside the add-on. It is off unless you turn it on.
  • Quest colors use your new level right away when you level up.
  • Saved settings now have a version number, so future updates can upgrade them safely.
  • The README has a new Known Limits section.

1.4.103

  • Quest names are colored by how hard they are for your level, just like the game's quest log: grey, green, yellow, orange or red. The [ACTIVE] or [READY] part keeps its own color.
  • The colors update when you level up.

1.4.102

  • Dungeon and raid quests now show only in the Dungeons view. They no longer show in Current Zone or All Zones, or in the zone counts.
  • All quest objectives you still need are the same soft white. Done objectives stay green. Loot objectives are no longer gold.

1.4.101

  • The zone picker has a new choice: Dungeons. It lists only your dungeon and raid quests, grouped under each dungeon name from A to Z.
  • Share All now shares only the quests in the list you are looking at.

1.4.100

  • Timed quests show a small clock, the word Timed, and the time left on the quest name line. The time turns red under one minute. If the timer runs out, it says Failed in grey.
  • Hover the clock to see how much time is left.

1.4.99

  • Dungeon and raid quests stay in your list, but the arrow and the map route skip them.

1.4.98

  • Inside a dungeon the gold arrow and the yards quietly go away, so the tracker does not break.

1.4.97

  • Fixed release packaging; no gameplay changes.
  • Includes everything from 1.4.96, which never shipped:

1.4.96

  • Quest Drawer: your quest list slides out from the side of the screen. Click the pull tab to open or close it, and drag the tab up or down to move it.
  • Guide Arrow: a gold arrow points to your nearest objective. The quest name sits on its own line under it. Click the name to open that quest in your quest log.
  • Teal Map Route: quests on the world map are numbered in the order to do them and joined by an easy-to-see teal line.
  • Invite Nearby: a cleaner pop-up that opens above the Invite button, with class colors, levels and a new Invite All button. Clicking anywhere outside closes it.
  • Cleaner Quest Log: the Recalculate and Invite buttons are no longer added to the default quest window. They live in the Quest Tracker drawer.
  • Works On Its Own: Forever Core is no longer required.
