Map Pins

Description

Beta / work in progress. Yellow ! start markers on Blizzard’s native world map for quests you can accept but have not already taken.

World of Warcraft Forever already has a modern quest tracker and objective pins for quests in your log. This addon does not replace that. It only adds start locations for unaccepted quests.

Forever’s quest list is still being filled in. Some Forever-only quests will not show yet — they are missing until All The Things records them (coordinates, givers, and prereqs). Classic-era starts that ATT already has should pin. Please report pin bugs here; report missing Forever quest data on ATT.

Features

  • Yellow ! pins on the world map for acceptable, unaccepted quest starts
  • Tooltips with quest and NPC names
  • Windowed and fullscreen map layouts
  • Overlapping starts on the same spot stack into one pin
  • Optional auto-accept and auto-turn-in (off by default; hold Shift to skip once)
  • Holiday / seasonal starts off by default (/fqp seasonal)

Settings

Escape → Options → AddOns → Forever Quest Pins, or:

  • /fqp — help
  • /fqp on / /fqp off
  • /fqp trivial — low-level pins
  • /fqp seasonal — holiday pins
  • /fqp accept / /fqp turnin — auto accept / turn-in
  • /fqp debug — IDs and diagnostics on hover
  • /fqp refresh — rebuild pins on this map
  • /fqp stats — database SHA and pin count
  • /fqp why <id> — why a quest is shown or hidden

Known limits (WIP)

  • Not a tracker: no objectives, no turn-in map pins, no quest-log UI
  • Forever-only starts ATT does not list yet will not pin
  • Item-started quests with no map coordinate are omitted
  • Continent view needs C_Map.GetMapRectOnMap
  • Patrol NPCs (for example Morin Cloudstalker) use ATT’s static points until the NPC is visible nearby

License

GPLv3. Quest coordinates and restrictions are converted from All The Things (MIT). ATT is not bundled and is not required in-game.
