Forever Easy Find & Send (FEFS) is a lightweight quality-of-life addon for World of Warcraft: Forever designed to make finding character names and using them across the game much easier.

World of Warcraft character names can become difficult to remember or type when they contain accents, special characters, surnames, or unusual spelling. FEFS builds a local character directory and provides accent-tolerant search while always preserving the character's exact real name when performing an action.

🔎 Find characters more easily

FEFS provides a dedicated Contacts panel integrated into the Send Mail interface.

Search using only the parts you remember. FEFS normalizes the search query without modifying the actual character name.

For example, a character such as:

Âmïgø Këbäck

can be found with searches such as:

amigo, keback, or amigokeback.

When the character is selected, FEFS always uses the original name exactly as World of Warcraft knows it.

📖 Your local character directory

FEFS gradually builds a local directory from characters your client already knows about.

The Contacts panel provides three views:

General — Characters currently known to FEFS.

Guild — Members of your guild with available character information.

Favorites — Characters you have personally marked for quick access.

Known metadata such as level, race and class is displayed whenever it is available.

FEFS does not claim to provide a complete global directory of every character on the server.

✉️ Mail integration

FEFS integrates directly with the Send Mail interface.

Search your contacts, find the character you want, and use the envelope button to place their exact character name into the recipient field.

The addon never sends mail automatically.

💬 Whisper suggestions

FEFS also integrates with /w and whisper commands.

Start typing a recipient:

/w zoo

and FEFS can display matching characters from your local directory in a compact suggestion popup.

The popup supports:

Mouse selection · Up/Down navigation · Enter · Tab · Escape

Selecting a character prepares the whisper using their exact character name. FEFS never sends the message automatically.

⭐ Favorites

Frequently used characters can be marked as Favorites.

Favorites are stored account-wide using WoW's SavedVariables system and are available from their own tab in the Contacts panel.

Characters can be added or removed with a single click.

🎨 Designed for WoW Forever

The FEFS interface is designed specifically around the modern World of Warcraft: Forever UI.

Where possible, it uses native Forever UI templates, atlases and visual components for search fields, side tabs, buttons, highlights and tooltips so that the Contacts panel feels like part of the game rather than a separate application.

🌍 Localization

FEFS currently includes:

English · Spanish · French · German

Unsupported locales automatically fall back to English.

⚡ Performance

FEFS is designed to remain lightweight even with large guild rosters and character directories.

Search data is indexed locally, UI rows are reused, source updates are batched, and the addon avoids permanent polling or OnUpdate loops.

Performance diagnostics are also available for troubleshooting when necessary.

🔒 Privacy

FEFS works locally.

There is:

No external server · No telemetry · No account system · No external character database

Character information and Favorites are stored locally through World of Warcraft's SavedVariables system.

🚀 First Public Release

0.1.0 is the first public release of Forever Easy Find & Send.

The core functionality has been tested in World of Warcraft: Forever, including character search, Mail integration, Favorites, Guild contacts and Whisper suggestions.

As this is the first public release, there may still be bugs, unusual edge cases or interactions that haven't been encountered during development.

If you find something that doesn't behave as expected, please report it through the project's GitHub repository with as much information as possible.

This is my first addon project, so feedback is especially welcome!

If you encounter a bug, notice something that could be improved, or have an idea that could make FEFS better, I'd be very happy to hear it.

I'm also interested in hearing about other addon ideas or quality-of-life features that you think could be useful in WoW Forever. FEFS is my first project, but hopefully not the last, so your suggestions may also inspire future addons.
