What's new

Changelog

0.2.0 (beta) · 2026-10-14

A simpler window to start with, statistics with a tab of their own, an invitation for rivals without the addon and the Guide in every language.

  • Home. The window opens on a new first tab, without the header: four cards with what matters at a glance. Your season (rank, ELO, how far the next rank is, your record and a line of your last duels), the button to look for a duel with the people looking near you, where the duels are right now and your last duels. Everything else is one click away, in the other tabs. When you go to another tab the header comes back on top and the window grows upwards: the tabs never move.
  • Arena is now called Duels, and its first page is Overview.
  • Statistics, a tab of its own (it was a page of Profile), in six pages: Summary (the three kinds of duel side by side, six numbers, the line of how it has gone, how duels end, your last results and your three talent trees), Classes (against each class, each race and each talent tree of your rivals, and with each of yours), Rivals (the one you meet most, your nemesis, your favourite rival and every rival with their numbers), When (the hours of each day of the week, the days, the hours and the months), Where (every spot, where you duel most, where you win most) and Records (twelve: runs, fastest win, longest duel, biggest ELO gain and loss, biggest upset, busiest, best and worst day, most duels against one rival and time spent duelling). What you choose at the top (kind of duel, period, rival's class, your tree) is kept on the six pages. Everything can be pointed at, and most of it clicked.
  • Invite them. After a duel against somebody without Forever Duels, once the result is gone, a small notice of its own offers to invite them. «Invite them» opens your chat with a whisper already written to their whole name (name and surname) and the address of the addon on CurseForge: you add a few words in your language and send it yourself with Enter. The addon never sends it for you. Once per player; it can be offered again from your history; Settings turns it off (it comes on).
  • The Guide in every language: German, French, Portuguese (Brazil), Russian and Chinese (simplified and traditional), like the rest of the addon.
  • The tabs of the window share their width and take a smaller letter when a language needs it, so seven of them fit in every language.
  • Tests: the six pages of statistics and Home are measured in the eight languages; the invitation is checked never to send anything by itself and never to go to half a name.

0.1.3 (beta) · 2026-10-13

Eight languages, a page of statistics, live channels remade and a demo mode for pictures.

  • Eight languages. Besides English and Spanish, the addon now speaks German, French, Portuguese (Brazil), Russian and Chinese (simplified and traditional): every screen, notice, achievement, cup and item of the shop. It follows the language of your game by itself, and Settings can force another one (applied when the interface loads again). Classes, races, talent trees, zones and spells carry the official names of each language. Dates, ordinal numbers, the order of class and talent tree and the plural forms (Russian has three) are written the way each language writes them. The Guide stays in English in those five languages for now; it comes translated in 0.1.4. Corrections from native speakers are welcome.
  • Profile > Statistics, a page of your own with charts you can touch: rated duels, practice duels and duels against players without the addon apart, and added up. Your ELO over time, your win rate against each class, the hours and days you duel best, your rivals, your places and your records. Duels against players without the addon now keep your specialisation and level too.
  • Live channels, remade. Twitch, YouTube, Kick and TikTok at the same time, each with its own logo. Each shows as a symbol and @name, never the address, with its name or as a symbol only, as you choose. Your main channel is the one on the VS screen. "LIVE" is written in red on your portrait while you stream, and a /reload keeps it. The panel for streams shows your channels at its foot (a line for each one with its name, the symbols together on one more) and grows with them. The address is only given in a box to copy: the addon opens no links.
  • Demo mode (/fduels demo): the window full of made-up players, duels and tournaments, to take pictures of the addon. /fduels demo vs shows the VS screen and /fduels demo win a victory. Nothing is sent and nothing is kept: your saved data is put aside untouched (it is what the game keeps when you leave), your duels are not recorded while it is on, and /reload brings everything back. The addon never reloads anything by itself.
  • Texts that did not fit on a brand-new character (Profile, Home, Settings) fit now. A fixed test opens every page with the nine classes, in all eight languages.
  • Items of the shop with a long name take a smaller letter instead of being cut.
  • Tests: every screen, full of data, is measured in the eight languages: nothing cut, nothing on top of something else, no letter shown as a little box.

0.1.2 (beta) · 2026-10-07

Fixes after the first duels recorded in the Forever beta.

  • The rival's class is no longer a question mark. When somebody challenges you the game gives their name and nothing else, and the addon only looked at who you were targeting at that very moment: whoever challenged you without being your target was kept without class, race or level. The addon now keeps looking for as long as the duel lasts (your target, the mouse over them, your focus, their name plate; when you accept, at each number of the countdown, when the fight starts, when you leave combat and before writing the duel down), and the card of the rival and the VS screen show who they are as soon as they are seen.
  • A rival who was never seen is kept as "Class not seen", with the reason on its tooltip, and is completed by itself the next time you have that player in front of you, or when their own addon says who they are. Duels already kept without class are completed the same way.
  • What a unit shows is only for the screens and for your own history: it never decides who the rival is in a rated duel (their addon says that).
  • Notice of the beta. The first time of the day that you open the window, a notice says that the addon is being worked on and may have faults, with the two buttons of the mailbox in it. Once a day, and never twice without leaving the game and coming back in.
  • The result of a duel stays five seconds (it was fourteen), counted from its last word: it waits for the rival's addon to confirm, so the points can be read. Against a rival without the addon it says so at once. With the mouse on it, it stays.
  • Talents. If the game stops answering for a moment (a loading screen, the game closing), what was read stands and is asked again by itself. The diagnosis written when leaving the game no longer says "talents: NOT read" when they had been read.
  • Class pictures. Every class has a stand-in icon should a game client lack its picture, and the health check says which pictures of classes and talent trees the client does not have (class-picture-missing, tree-pictures-missing).
  • Diagnostics says how the rival of each of your last duels was recognised (who challenged, seen through which unit, class known or not), without names.
  • Privacy, said more exactly: in combat nothing is sent and no hidden message is read, and of a fight nothing is ever read (health, spells, damage). The only thing the addon looks at during a duel is who your rival is, as the game shows them to you.
  • Tests: two versions of the addon (0.1.1 and 0.1.2) are run next to each other, duelling and catching each other up.

0.1.1 (beta) · 2026-10-06

Fixes after the first evening in the Forever beta (game client 1.60.1.70235), checked against the game's own interface code.

  • Your duels are recorded now. A Forever character has a name and a surname, and the game hands them to addons in two pieces. The addon only kept the first one, so the game's line "Name Surname has defeated…" was never taken as yours and the duel was not recorded. It now reads both pieces, whether you show your surname on the screen or hide it, and understands every way the game writes a name ("Name Surname", "Name-Surname", with or without the realm).
  • Your talents are read. In Forever a class has one tree of talents with three groups in it. The addon reads the points of each group the way the game's own talent window does, so you no longer choose your specialisation by hand (only when two trees are close). With dual specialisation, the talents in use are the ones read.
  • Saved data of another addon that used the same folder name is no longer taken as this addon's. What is not ours is thrown away, and so are the options it left behind: one of them could leave your duels in Practice without you choosing it. Only how the addon looks is kept (language, theme, size, minimap button). The same is done once with the data of 0.1.0.
  • Two players with the same name and another surname are never taken for each other, whichever way the game stamps the sender of a hidden message. Your whole name travels in your card.
  • Hidden messages to one player are addressed the way the game writes names in links. If the game answers that there is no such player, what was sent goes through the channel instead, and that line of the game never reaches your chat.
  • Diagnostics now says how the game gives your name, how your talents were read, how the hidden network is doing, and what the addon did with the game's last lines about duels while a duel of yours was on. All of it is written next to the saved data each time you leave the game (ForeverDuelsDiag), so a duel that was not recorded can be explained from the file. The diagnosis you copy by hand carries no names.
  • Health warnings: own-surname-not-given, hidden-whisper-not-found and talent-trees-in-another-order are new, and no-talent-api says what was tried.
  • The notice to choose your talent tree waits half a minute after you log in, until the game has had time to hand over your talents.

0.1.0 (beta) · 2026-10-06

First version. The addon is in beta: a rating or an ELO may not work as it should yet.

  • Rated duels: each addon announces its own result with a hidden message; a win and a loss that match make a confirmed duel, recorded for everybody. Unconfirmed, disputed and voided duels are told apart. A duel against a player without the addon is kept in your own history and never moves ELO. In a busy duelling spot a duel is recorded once, whoever reads the game's line.
  • ELO by talent tree and level bracket, worked out by every addon from the same list of duels. Placement duels, limits against farming (per day and per season against the same rival, and for players who only duel one or two rivals), six ranks and seasons (the beta is a season of its own).
  • Specialisation read from your Forever talents: the tree with the most points, with the names the Forever client gives. You choose when two trees are close or when the client does not let addons read talents.
  • Window with five sections (Arena, Rankings, Tournaments, Profile, Settings) and three themes from the start (Horde, Alliance, Combat). Rival card when you are challenged, VS screen on the countdown, result with the points that moved, small notices only you see.
  • Rankings (everybody, class, talent tree, race, guilds), Meta, profile and history.
  • Looking for a duel and Where the duels are.
  • Tournaments: nine formats (league, Swiss, World Cup, single and double elimination, king of the hill, ladder, by classes, team relay), most with no limit of players; a creation screen with a live preview; password, administrators, expelling and bans that only apply to that tournament; a random draw checked by every addon; automatic start, walkovers and closing; predictions for points; 22 cups for the trophy case.
  • 147 achievements, Glory and a shop with 298 things for your profile. Glory is earned by playing, never bought.
  • Rivals, guild wars and a weekly chronicle.
  • Report your bug and Give us your feedback: two buttons on every page. What players write travels hidden between the addons of the realm and is kept, as plain lines, in the addon's saved file. Whoever looks after the addon can collect everybody's (Settings > Mailbox).
  • Error collector: the addon notes its own errors, without names, and adds them up between all players (Settings > Diagnostics), together with health warnings about what the game client does not offer.
  • No server: when you log in the addon asks for what happened while you were away; one answer serves everybody waiting for the same, at most three catch-ups travel at a time, and every few minutes the addons compare a summary of what they keep and repair what is missing.
  • Worldwide realms: names of players and guilds in Latin, Cyrillic, Chinese and Korean letters are kept whole and drawn with the game's font for each alphabet; a duel counts whatever the language of each player's game (the game's line is read in eleven client languages, Korean particles and Russian cases included); a place is a spot of the map, so "near you" and "Where the duels are" work between all languages and you read each name in yours when the addon knows it.
  • English and Spanish, both written by hand. Minimap button, addon compartment, key bindings and an optional line on the tooltip of players with the addon.
  • Nothing is ever written in chat or whispered. Nothing is sent or read in combat or inside instances.
