# Forever Core – Changelog

## Unreleased

## 0.44b – October 18, 2026

### Four new addons
- **ForeverBars – action bars in the Forever look.** Replaces Blizzard's action bars with clean, flat bars.
  - Action bars, pet bar, stance bar and a totem bar for Shamans, each with its own size, layout, visibility, fading and key bindings (/fb)
  - Copy the settings of one action bar to another with one click (its position stays)
  - **Experience and reputation bars** (formerly ForeverXP): slim bars with a fine gold border, as wide as action bar 1 and right below it. XP per hour, time to level-up, rested XP and the XP your completed quests will give you. The reputation bar shows your watched faction with standing, progress, reputation per hour and the time to the next rank. Hover for more, click the reputation bar to open the reputation panel. Settings: /fb (or /fxp)
  - **Marker bar:** target and world markers in a 3×3 grid, plus ready check, role poll and countdown, all with their own key bindings shown on the buttons
  - Profession bar, a bag bar and a micro menu that docks right below the minimap
  - The profession and marker bars fold into a small arrow button when you need the space, and fold out again even in combat
  - Leaves your bars alone if you use Bartender4
- **ForeverQuests – a quest tracker that fits.** Replaces Blizzard's quest tracker.
  - Quests grouped by zone, with class/reputation/profession tags and a small chest for good item rewards
  - Filters (zone, dungeon, raid, group, class, profession, reputation, ready to turn in, pinned …) and "only instance quests" inside dungeons
  - Pin your important quests to the top. Left-click a quest to open it in the quest log, right-click to share, untrack or abandon it.
  - **Quest together:** right-click a quest and pick "Suggest to group". Your group mates with ForeverQuests get a small, quiet window next to their tracker asking whether they'd like to join ("Join" / "No, thanks", it goes away by itself after a minute). Everyone who joins sees the quest at the top of the tracker under "Together", with every objective and how far each member has got ("You 3/8   Anna 5/8").
  - A dungeon window with all dungeon quests, searchable
  - Sits right below the minimap and is just as wide by default
  - Settings: /fq
- **ForeverMinimap – a simple minimap.** Round or square, with a slim bar for zone, clock and coordinates.
  - Your minimap buttons only show up when you need them
  - New mail appears as a tile in the corner between the button strip and the micro menu
  - The dungeon finder eye sits in the bottom right corner of the map, only while you're queued
  - Settings: /fmm
- **ForeverBags – all your bags in one window.**
  - Search, sort, free slots and your gold at a glance
  - Its own bank and guild bank windows
  - See the bags, bank and gold of all your characters. Item tooltips show how many of an item all your characters have.
  - Currencies in the footer (right-click to pick them), quest items marked in yellow, reagent bags with a colored border
  - Opens at your mouse, or next to the ForeverVendor window at a merchant
  - Settings: /fbags

### New
- **A ready-made layout out of the box:** on a fresh install, all frames, bars and windows start in a tidy, tested arrangement. Already moved something yourself? Your positions stay exactly where they are.
- **Snapping for every frame:** all movable Forever Core frames (unit frames, party frames, cast bar, bars, buffs, loot window, vendor icon, quest tracker) now snap to each other, to the minimap, to the main chat, to the screen center and to the grid while you drag them. Yellow guide lines show where it snaps. Hold **Shift** to move freely. To turn snapping off for good, untick "Snap while moving" in the hub (/forever) or type **/fmove snap**.
- **Details! in the Forever look:** one click in the hub (/forever) gives Details! a matching skin. It creates a copy of your Details profile named "Forever Core", so your own profile stays untouched, and a second click switches back.
- **ForeverChat: a tab for your custom channels.** Join a custom channel and a "+" button appears next to the General and Combat Log tabs. Pick a channel there and it gets its own tab ("# Name") right behind them. "Channel 5 · Name" at the top of the window shows where you are, and the input line writes to that channel. Switch to another channel with the "+" any time. Right-click the tab for the usual chat window menu, plus "Leave channel". Blizzard's overflow arrow is gone, and the "+" menu lists all your chat windows instead.
- **ForeverFrames – separate settings for party and raid:** at the top of the settings (/ff) choose "Party" or "Raid", and every tab below sets up only those frames. The frames switch automatically when you join or leave a raid.
- **ForeverUnits: combo points on your target** (Rogues, and Druids in cat form). A bright, glowing column right next to the target frame, just as tall as the frame, filling up from gold to orange-red. Prefer something else? Choose a bar with five segments below the frame or round dots above it, change the size, or hide the empty points (General tab in /fu).
- **ForeverUnits: optional "Forever" skin (test).** In the Look tab you can give the unit frames the style of the Forever windows: flat bars, a slim border with a gold edge and a dark name band. Class colors, texts and all functions stay exactly as they are.

### Improved
- ForeverFrames: the ready check now shows reliably on every frame, as a check mark or a cross right before the name. Players who didn't answer get a cross when the check ends. You can move it back to its own spot in the settings.
- ForeverChat: all buttons now sit in the tab row and are easier to see. The default text size is 17 (set once, your own choice wins afterwards). "Text to speech" is optional (off by default).
- ForeverSpellbook: trainer lists check your real spellbook, so spells you already know no longer show up as missing. Every trainer you visit gets its own tab.
- ForeverUnits: level colors follow the classic experience rules. Mobs that still give you experience show green instead of gray.

### Fixed
- ForeverChat: the settings no longer overlap each other.
- ForeverChat: the button bar could go missing with an error ("compare number with nil").
- Blizzard's XP and reputation bars no longer show up after a reload.
- The quest tracker no longer moves when you open and close Edit Mode.
- ForeverQuests: Blizzard's quest tracker no longer pops up for a moment behind yours (e.g. when you loot a quest item during combat).
- Bars you moved yourself no longer jump back to their old spot.

### Good to know
- **ForeverXP is now part of ForeverBars.** If you used ForeverXP, you can delete its folder. Your XP data is taken over.

## 0.41b – October 17, 2026

### New
- **ForeverCore – one base for all addons.** The shared parts of Forever Core (look, hub, minimap button, settings entry) now live in their own small addon, **ForeverCore**. Every Forever Core addon needs it. It is already included in the full package and in every single-addon download, so you don't have to do anything extra.
- **Choose what you want:** turn every addon on or off right in the hub (/forever). Use "All on" / "All off" if you like, or limit your choice to one character. Changes apply after you click "Reload".
- **A short welcome:** on your very first login the hub opens once and shows you how it works. After that it stays closed – you'll find it via /forever, the addon menu at the minimap or Esc » Options » AddOns.
- **Profiles for every addon – per character:** all your characters share one profile by default. Want different frames or bars on your healer? Give that character its own profile with one click ("Own profile for …"), for all addons at once or just for single ones. Open it with **/forever profile** or the button in the hub.
- **Share your whole interface:** export the settings of all your Forever Core addons as one short text (tick the addons you want), back it up or send it to a friend, and import it again with **/forever import**. Imports are saved as a new profile, so nothing you have gets lost.

### Improved
- All Forever Core addons now share one version number (0.41b), so it's easy to see that everything is up to date.
- The addons got a bit smaller and load more cleanly, because the shared parts exist only once.

### Fixed
- ForeverSpellbook: visiting another trainer (e.g. the portal trainer, a pet trainer or a weapon master) no longer replaces your class trainer's list. Mages get their own "Portals and teleports" section, and every other trainer gets its own section with its name.

### Good to know
- Updating from an older version: install the new package (with ForeverCore). Your settings are kept and become the shared profile.
- Switching profiles, resetting and importing apply after a quick reload (the profile window has a button for it).
- An imported layout made on a different screen size may need a little adjusting – use /fmove.

## 0.32b – October 17, 2026

### New
- **New addon: ForeverChat – your chat, just cleaner.** It keeps Blizzard's chat (whispers, channels, links and communities all work as usual) and gives it the Forever Core look.
  - A very transparent window with flat tabs. You can adjust its opacity and the border.
  - A small button bar right in the tab row: jump to the newest line, channels, copy chat, settings and a lock.
  - Player names in class colors, with their level in front when it's known (from your group, guild, friends, /who, target and mouseover).
  - Shorter channel names ("[2. Trade]" instead of "[2. Trade - City]"), clickable web links you can copy, and your own name highlighted when someone mentions you.
  - **Instant messaging:** an "IM" tab with one sub-tab per person you're whispering with. Unread messages make the tab blink gold. You type in the same input line as always.
  - The input line only shows up while you're typing or hovering over it (you can turn that off).
  - Copy the whole chat into a window to select text (/fchat copy, or right-click the minimap entry).
  - Text size, timestamps and soft chat colors in the settings. The colors can be reset at any time.
  - To move the main chat, click the lock. This opens Blizzard's Edit Mode, and closing it locks the chat again.
  - Settings: /fchat
- **New addon: ForeverSpellbook – a compact spellbook.** Tabs for General, your class and pets, plus a search across everything.
  - It tells you when your action bars still have a lower rank of a spell and updates them with a single click.
  - "Trainer" shows what's coming next and what it costs, after you visit your class trainer once.
  - Click or drag a spell onto your bars, or shift-click it to link it in chat.
  - It can turn transparent while you move or fight.
  - It replaces Blizzard's spellbook key (P) if you like. Settings: /fsb
- **Forever Core Hub:** type **/forever** (or /fhub) for a list of all your Forever Core addons, with their chat commands and an "Open" button that takes you straight to their settings. This is handy if you hide minimap buttons.
- **Blizzard options:** "Forever Core" now has its own entry under Esc » Options » AddOns, with one page per addon. /forever options jumps straight there. You'll also find Forever Core in the addon menu next to the minimap.
- **Resizable windows:** drag the corner of any Forever Core settings window to make it bigger or smaller. The spellbook grows with more columns.

### Improved
- The window you opened or clicked last now always stays on top, so settings windows no longer overlap each other.
- Opening an addon from the hub keeps the hub open in the background.
- ForeverCast: Blizzard's cast bar now stays hidden in Edit Mode as well.
- ForeverVendor: the draggable bag icon is now optional and off by default. The settings window is wider, so no German text is cut off any more.
- New installs start with all frames locked, so nothing gets moved by accident. Use /fmove to unlock them.
- Less work in the background: several addons now react to game events instead of checking on a timer.

### Fixed
- ForeverSpellbook: no more error in combat when "transparent while moving" is on.
- ForeverSpellbook: the pet tab is now simply labeled "Pets".

## 0.3b – October 16, 2026

### New
- **New addon: ForeverVendor – your merchant helper.** Sells your grey items, repairs if you want (guild bank first, if you like) and restocks what you need: class reagents like Ankhs, the best food and drink for your level, ammo that fits your weapon, and your own list.
  - Add items by name, item ID, shift-click or simply drag them onto the + button.
  - A small window next to the merchant shows what happens automatically and your shopping list with prices – one click on "Buy" and you're done.
  - Nothing happens until you turn the automation on – then it sells junk, repairs and restocks for you. Prefer to decide yourself? Switch restocking to "only via button". A spending limit per visit and a gold reserve keep your wallet safe. Hold Shift when talking to a merchant to skip it once.
  - Day to day it's just a small bag icon – click it for an overview of what you're running low on.
- **A fresh look:** all settings windows got a new flat, dark design with gold accents. Options are now grouped into tidy sections, checkboxes, sliders and dropdowns all match.
- **ForeverXP – a new XP bar in Blizzard style:** a slim bar with rounded ends and a subtle gold border that takes the place of the default XP bar. Your action bars stay exactly where they were.
  - At a glance: your level, XP per hour, your XP and percentage, time to level-up and the XP your completed quests will give you.
  - Hover over the bar for more: mobs and quests left until level-up, XP still needed, rested XP – plus the familiar detailed tooltip, shown where your tooltips usually appear.
  - Same colors as before: purple for your XP, gold for completed quests, blue for rested XP.
  - Choose texture, font, outline and font size. Text that doesn't fit is shortened or hidden – never cut off.
  - Keep it at Blizzard's spot (length adjusts automatically, height adjustable) or place it anywhere with your own size.
  - Prefer the old style? The classic box is still available in the settings (/fxp).

### Improved
- ForeverXP no longer fades in combat by default (you can turn it back on) and starts locked.
- The addon list now marks all Forever Core addons as beta.
- Better update detection in the CurseForge app.

### Fixed
- ForeverBuffs: if a missing buff is cast on you during a fight, its icon turns green with a check mark again.

## 0.2b – October 15, 2026

### New
- **Move everything at once:** type **/fmove** – or right-click the Forever Core minimap button – to unlock all your Forever Core addons together. Drag them where you want, then /fmove again locks them all.
- **Line things up easily:** while moving, a grid helps you place your frames, and frames snap neatly to each other, to the center of the screen and to the grid. A yellow line shows where they snap. Hold **Shift** to move freely.
- **Exact positions:** ForeverFrames, ForeverUnits and ForeverCast now have X/Y fields in their settings, so you can place them pixel-perfect.
- Frames snap across addons: put your cast bar right under your player frame, or your raid frames flush against your unit frames.
- **ForeverBuffs:** the bar now has its own anchor – unlock it with /fbuffs lock (or right-click its minimap entry) and drag it anywhere. /fbuffs reset brings it back.
- **ForeverBuffs in combat:** if a missing buff is cast on you during a fight (e.g. Battle Shout at the pull), its icon turns green with a check mark right away.
- **ForeverUnits:** the DoT bars can now be detached from the frame and placed freely. They are turned on for target and focus by default.

### Improved
- ForeverBuffs stays visible in combat by default (you can still hide it in the settings).
- ForeverBuffs now tracks Battle Shout and shaman weapon imbues more reliably.
- ForeverBuffs no longer asks for food or drink at very low levels.
- ForeverFrames: no more empty gaps between players when nobody in the group has a pet.

### Fixed
- ForeverFrames: "Players side by side" no longer arranges the frames like a staircase.
- ForeverUnits: the anchor for detached DoT bars now shows up when you unlock the frames.
- ForeverBuffs: shaman weapon imbues were sometimes shown as missing although they were active.

### Good to know
- This is a beta – thanks for helping us test it!
- WoW: Forever is a beta too. Sometimes it forgets your settings after logging in. This is a game issue, and your settings come back once it is fixed.
- The DoT bars are still experimental and may look slightly different depending on your game version.
- HoTs from other players are recognized for the most common spells. If one is missing, let us know which one.

### Found a bug or have an idea?
We'd love to hear from you! The addon **BugSack** shows the exact error, so please include it in your report.
