What's new
Changelog
v1.7.0
Species Lures (Auto-Apply)
- Added a "Species Lure" option to the Auto-Apply Fishing Gear settings, for the persistent ~30 minute lures that boost the chance to catch a specific fish (e.g. Ominous Octopus Lure, Ula'tek Snakehead Lure, Aileron Seamoth Lure), plus combined wards like Tokka's Multi-Ward and location buffs like Eerie Lure (unique fish on The Coiled Isle)
- These are tracked separately from the existing generic "Lure" option, since they apply a persistent player buff rather than a temporary fishing-pole enchant — so you can run both at once
- The dropdown only lists species lures you're carrying, and the buff is re-applied automatically as part of the casting workflow when it isn't already active
- Covers species lures from Warlords of Draenor, Shadowlands, Dragonflight, The War Within, and Midnight
More Generic Lures
- Expanded the generic "Lure" list (temporary fishing-skill enchants) with newer and previously-missing entries, including the expansion-specific skill lures: Whispering Squirmworm (Khaz Algar Fishing), and Writhing Wiggleworm and Pointed Spikesnail (Midnight Fishing)
- Also added Glow Worm, Aquatic Enticer, and the Day-Old Darkmoon Doughnut
- The Lure list is now grouped by expansion in the code for easier maintenance
Open Settings from Chat
/fm(or/fishmonger) with no arguments now opens the settings panel;/fm configdoes the same, withoptionsandsettingsas aliases/fm helpstill lists all commands
Gear Dropdown Tooltips
- Hovering an item in any Auto-Apply Fishing Gear dropdown (bobber, raft, lure, species lure) now shows its full in-game tooltip, so you can check its effect before picking it
- Toy-based entries (cosmetic bobbers, rafts) show the toy tooltip rather than the tooltip of the one-time item that teaches the toy; lures show the item tooltip
v1.6.0
Easy Cast Keybinding
- Added a dedicated "Easy Cast" keybinding that runs the full casting workflow (lure/bobber/raft/toy application, then Fishing) on a single key press
- Find it in the WoW Keybindings menu under the "Fishmonger" header, or assign the key directly from the Fishmonger settings panel — both stay in sync
- Shares the same logic as the mouse workflow, so the applied buffs and cast behavior are identical
- Respects the same conditions as Auto-Cast: skips while a loot window is open, honors the Auto-Cast enabled setting, and only fires out of combat
- The existing Alt + double right-click / double right-click mouse workflow is unchanged
- The settings panel offers two key slots (primary and secondary), matching Blizzard's own keybinding layout
Settings Panel Redesign
- Reorganized the settings panel into clear sections: Casting, Auto-Apply Fishing Gear, and Catch Statistics
- The panel now scrolls, so it no longer runs out of room as options are added
- Shortened option labels now that section headers provide context (e.g. "Apply Cosmetic Bobber" is now just "Cosmetic Bobber" under "Auto-Apply Fishing Gear")
- Gear selection dropdowns now sit beside their checkbox instead of on a separate line
Auto-Transform Always On
- Removed the "Enable Auto-Transform (swim speed buff)" toggle. Auto-Transform is a hands-off quality-of-life feature, so it now runs automatically with no setting to manage
v1.5.0
Fixes
- The Catch Stats window opened via the minimap button no longer disappears when you cook, eat, mount, or trigger any other aura change while no fishing buff is active. A manually-opened window now stays until you close it; auto-hide only applies to windows the auto-show system opened.
Record Fish Announcements
- New records for a Midnight fish's Anglin' Score are now announced with a raid-warning-style on-screen notice and a sound, showing the fish name, new score, and catch rank
- Reads the record from the fishing journal spell description and tracks each fish's best in saved variables; announces only on a genuine increase
- Existing records are seeded silently at login (with retries while spell data caches), so the first catch after installing can announce a new record rather than being consumed as a baseline
- Toggle with the "Announce Record Fish" setting under Interface → AddOns → Fishmonger (enabled by default)
- Note: WoW only exposes the record score to addons, not per-catch scores, so individual catch scores can't be displayed
v1.4.0
Auto-Transform
- Keeps the "Fishing For Attention" buff active on rods that grant it — the buff is what enables the rod's underwater perks (swim speed, water walking, underwater breathing), but it often isn't applied when you need it
- Re-equipping the rod reliably (re)applies the buff, so when you go underwater (or are underwater and leave combat) Fishmonger briefly unequips and re-equips the rod to refresh it
- Supports The Underlight Angler (133755), The Coiled Huntress (244790), and the Mastercraft Kalu'ak Fishing Pole (44050)
- Never swaps gear in combat or during Mythic+; any swap that would land in combat is deferred until combat ends
- Toggle it under Interface → AddOns → Fishmonger (enabled by default)
- Uses only cursor-based inventory moves (the same mechanic as dragging an item) — no secure button or protected action involved
Auto-Apply Raft
- Added a "Raft" option to the pre-cast buff sequence, alongside cosmetic bobbers, the oversized bobber, and lures
- Supports the Anglers Fishing Raft (85500) and the Personal Fishing Barge (235801)
- Rafts only appear as choices if you own the toy; the game enforces each raft's own use requirement (such as the Anglers Fishing Raft's Pandaria fishing prerequisite)
- Applied as a toy and detected via its float aura, so it won't be re-applied while already active
- Priority order is now: cosmetic bobber → oversized bobber → raft → lure
Catch Stats Auto-Hide Toggle
- Auto-hide is now its own setting, separate from auto-show
- Previously one toggle governed both showing and hiding the Catch Stats window; you can now enable them independently (e.g. auto-show on start but leave the window up when you stop fishing, or the reverse)
- Both default to enabled, matching the prior behavior
Minimap Button
- Added a minimap button using the Fishmonger icon
- Left-click toggles the Catch Stats window (opens it, or closes it if already open)
- Right-click opens the settings panel
- Built on LibDataBroker + LibDBIcon, so minimap managers like SexyMap handle its dragging, mouseover fade, and visibility alongside every other addon button; position persists across sessions
v1.3.3
Venom Tracker
- The Catch Stats screen now shows a "Venom" line with the current amount accrued on The Coiled Huntress
- Reads the value from the equipped rod and updates as you fish
- The row only appears while the Coiled Huntress is equipped; the frame resizes to fit it and collapses back for other rods
Recipe List Fixes
- Fixed a recipe row showing stale icon/name/tooltip data when a spell wasn't cached yet
- Fixed the recipe frame keeping an oversized height when hovering a fish with no known recipes
v1.3.2
Coiled Huntress Support
- Fixed Auto-Cast and the Catch Stats screen not working with The Coiled Huntress fishing rod
- Both features now recognize the newer "Fishing For Attention" equip aura (spell 1303610) in addition to the original (spell 394009), so any fishing tool that grants either aura is detected
v1.3.1
Salvaged Recipes
- Recipe hover list now includes recipes that use products obtained by salvaging a caught fish (not just recipes that use the fish directly)
- Expanded the known-recipes dataset to cover salvage outputs
v1.3.0
Pinned Recipes List
- Want to examine the recipes further? Click the fish row and it's now pinned! Hover over the recipe for more details!
v1.2.0
Fish Stats Screen
- Added comprehensive fish tracker, on a per-zone basis
- Reset current zone or all data
- Hover over fish to see what professions use that fish (does not count recipes that use the salvaged product)
v1.0.0
Auto-Cast Fishing
- Double right-click to cast Fishing (no keybinds needed)
- Alt + double right-click when no fishing pole is equipped
- Timing window: 50–400ms between clicks
- Automatically blocked during combat and while looting
Pre-Cast Buffs
- Automatically applies fishing enhancements before casting
- Priority sequence: cosmetic bobber → oversized bobber → lure
- One item applied per trigger — keeps casting until all buffs are active, then casts Fishing
- Detects active buffs to avoid re-applying (aura detection for bobbers, weapon enchant detection for lures)
- Oversized Bobber supports both the reusable toy (202207) and consumable item (136377)
Configuration Panel
- Interface → AddOns → Fishmonger
- Enable/disable Auto-Cast Fishing
- Enable/disable and select a cosmetic bobber from your collected toys
- Enable/disable Oversized Bobber application
- Enable/disable and select a lure from your inventory
- Settings persist across sessions
Known Items Registry
- 22 cosmetic bobber toys (Classic through Undermine)
- 10 fishing lures (Classic through WoD)
- Data verified against DB2 exports (ItemSparse, ItemEffect, Toy tables)
