Fieldnotes
A gathering journal for Classic Era and Warcraft Forever. Fieldnotes remembers every creature you skin, every vein you mine, every herb you pick, every fish you catch and every cloth drop: what it gave you and exactly where you stood. Then it draws it all on your world map, so the best grounds are easy to find.
Features
- Heat map on your world map: a soft glow where you gather most, numbered hot spots, a key with real counts and three color schemes. Or switch to Points (one dot per gather) or Spotlight (the map dims except where you gather).
- Five professions: Skinning, Mining, Herbalism, Fishing and Cloth, each on its own tab beside the map with its own material list and hot spots.
- Home dashboard: every profession at a glance, with counts, best zones and skill. Every gather shows on the map in its profession's color; hover a profession to light its spots.
- Cloth drop rates: every humanoid you loot is counted, cloth or not, so you know how often an area really drops cloth.
- Me, Account or Community: your character, all your characters, or notes other players have shared.
- Session tracker: one small window, one clock for everything you gather: count, per hour, skill gained, and a heads-up when it's time for a trainer.
- Share your notes as one line of text for Discord or a friend's Import box. No character names, realms or times of day are ever shared.
- Try it first:
/fn demoloads sample notes for every profession.
Getting started
Open your world map. Fieldnotes sits in a dock on its edge; the Fieldnotes tab folds it away. Then go gathering: your notes start with your first skin, vein, herb, catch or loot.
/fn stats window, /fn demo sample notes (/fn demo off removes them), /fn share, /fn import, /fn tracker, /fn chat.
Roadmap
Next up: Warcraft Forever checks after launch, Stats and Share for every profession, a profession switch on the full-screen map, and later a shared community dataset so new players start with a map full of known grounds.
