FatDadFlash

FatDadFlash is a smart TBC Anniversary rotation assistant that analyzes your class, spec, resources, cooldowns, procs, gear and target state to flash the best next ability, helping you maximize DPS with minimal thought.

FatDadFlash

Spend less time thinking about your rotation and more time actually playing.

FatDadFlash is a lightweight, state-aware World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade Anniversary rotation assistant designed to answer one question:

What is the best ability I should press right now?

Instead of filling your screen with complicated priority lists, FatDadFlash gives you one large, easy-to-see recommendation. When an ability should be used, its icon flashes. When you should pool resources or let an auto attack happen, FatDadFlash tells you to wait instead of encouraging unnecessary button spam.

The goal is simple: maximize damage while minimizing mental overhead.

Smart, Real-Time Recommendations

FatDadFlash evaluates your current combat state in real time, including:

  • Class and talent specialization
  • Learned abilities
  • Current resources
  • Combo points
  • Target health
  • Buffs and debuffs
  • Reactive procs
  • Cooldowns
  • Interruptible casts
  • Equipped weapons
  • Equipped on-use gear
  • Usable inventory items
  • Movement state
  • Target type
  • Boss detection
  • Dungeon vs questing mode

An ability is only considered when FatDadFlash determines that it is actually available and relevant.

No wand equipped? It will not tell you to wand.

No ranged weapon? Hunter shots will not be recommended.

Need energy for the correct finisher? FatDadFlash can tell you to keep meleeing instead of wasting resources on the wrong ability.

Quest Mode

Quest Mode balances damage, efficiency and resource conservation.

It is designed for normal leveling and open-world play where killing one enemy slightly faster is not always worth draining your entire mana bar.

Caster classes can transition toward lower-cost abilities or wanding when appropriate, while melee classes can pool energy or rage rather than spending resources simply because a button is available.

The goal is efficient sustained play with less downtime.

Dungeon Mode

Dungeon Mode prioritizes maximum DPS.

Mana conservation becomes less important, offensive cooldowns are used more aggressively, and FatDadFlash can incorporate:

  • Major offensive abilities
  • Class cooldowns
  • Offensive racials
  • Equipped trinkets
  • Equipped on-use gear
  • Appropriate usable inventory items
  • Boss burn windows

When a boss is detected, FatDadFlash adjusts its priority around the player's current state rather than blindly firing every cooldown at once.

More Than a Static Priority List

FatDadFlash is built around situational rotation logic, not a simple list of spells.

Examples include:

Combat Rogue

  • Kick when a cast can be interrupted
  • Riposte immediately when the proc is active
  • Maintain Slice and Dice
  • Execute with Eviscerate at 3+ combo points below 20% health
  • Eviscerate at 5 combo points
  • Maintain 5-point Rupture on appropriate boss encounters
  • Pool energy instead of allowing the wrong builder to steal a finisher
  • Gouge into Backstab when using a positional dagger setup

Hunter

  • Tracks Auto Shot timing
  • Protects Auto Shots from clipping
  • Fits Steady Shot into safe turret windows
  • Uses Multi-Shot appropriately
  • Immediately reacts to Kill Command
  • Can identify safe melee-weave opportunities
  • Adjusts recommendations while moving

Retribution Paladin

  • Tracks melee swing timing
  • Supports Seal twisting
  • Times Crusader Strike around swings
  • Handles Judgement timing
  • Recognizes valid Exorcism targets
  • Integrates offensive cooldowns and on-use items

Arcane Mage

  • Distinguishes burn and conservation phases
  • Uses aggressive Arcane Blast cycles in Dungeon Mode
  • Manages Arcane Blast stacks during conservation
  • Incorporates Arcane Power, Icy Veins and other burst tools
  • Uses mana recovery before DPS collapses

Similar specialization-specific logic is built independently for every supported DPS tree.

Supported DPS Specs

FatDadFlash currently focuses specifically on damage specializations.

Supported:

  • Warrior: Arms, Fury
  • Paladin: Retribution
  • Hunter: Beast Mastery, Marksmanship, Survival
  • Rogue: Assassination, Combat, Subtlety
  • Priest: Shadow
  • Shaman: Elemental, Enhancement
  • Mage: Arcane, Fire, Frost
  • Warlock: Affliction, Demonology, Destruction
  • Druid: Balance, Feral Cat DPS

Tank and healing specializations are intentionally excluded rather than receiving generic or inaccurate recommendations.

Designed for Low Cognitive Load

FatDadFlash is intentionally simple.

The main display is:

FatDadFlash

[ABILITY ICON]

Ability Name

The recommended action flashes prominently so you can react quickly without constantly reading timers, bars or priority lists.

A smaller secondary indicator can also surface appropriate boss cooldowns or on-use abilities without replacing the primary rotational recommendation.

Think of it as rotation whack-a-mole backed by actual combat-state analysis.

Lightweight by Design

FatDadFlash has been rebuilt around performance-conscious principles:

  • Class rotation logic is isolated by class
  • No cross-class rotation dependencies
  • Inventory and equipped-item analysis is cached
  • Combat events are filtered
  • UI layout is not constantly rebuilt during combat
  • Recommendations update without repeatedly recreating the display
  • No unnecessary parent-frame scale animations

This keeps the addon responsive without turning your UI into another source of combat lag.

Source-Grounded Rotation Logic

Rotation decisions are researched using established TBC resources, including:

  • Icy Veins
  • Wowhead
  • Skill Capped where relevant
  • WoW-Pro where applicable

Current TBC PvE guidance takes precedence, while PvP-oriented material is used primarily for relevant setup, positional and reactive mechanics rather than overriding PvE damage priorities.

Who Is FatDadFlash For?

FatDadFlash is designed for players who want to:

  • Level more efficiently
  • Learn an unfamiliar class
  • Improve dungeon DPS
  • Reduce rotation mistakes
  • Stop staring at action bars
  • Spend less time memorizing priority lists
  • Focus more attention on positioning, mechanics and actually enjoying the game

Experienced players can use it as a fast visual decision assistant.

Newer players can use it to dramatically reduce the amount of class knowledge they need to hold in their head at once.
