What's new
Changelog
1.3.1-hotfix
New
- Separate size for the boards. Settings > Boards has a new "Board size" slider (50%-200%) for the roll-off board and the deathroll tracker. The scale slider on the Text tab (now called "Dice and result plate scale") only resizes the dice and the result plate, as you'd expect. Boards default to 100%, so if you had changed the dice scale before, the boards no longer follow it.
Fixed
- Text running outside the settings window on the Dice and Boards tabs (and a few long checkbox labels on General). The long notes now wrap inside the window, and the over-long labels were shortened.
- The luck label in the history window could run past its right edge; the luck bar is slightly shorter and the label wraps.
- Under the hood: an automated layout check now verifies that every label, checkbox, slider and button of the settings and history windows stays inside its window, so this kind of overflow is caught before release.
1.3
New: leaderboards
- Roll-off board. When a second player rolls the same range within 8 seconds of the first, the rolls are collected into a ranked board. Other players' rolls update the board instead of each playing a dice animation (your own roll still gets its dice). Four seconds after the last roll the highest roller is crowned with a crown icon; ties are flagged "TIE - roll again!". Only each player's first roll counts. Winning one yourself plays the fanfare.
- Deathroll tracker. Recognises a deathroll chain (each
/rollrange = the previous result), lists every step, shows whose turn it is and what to type, and announces who rolled 1. - Both appear on a small movable panel (move it with the Test tab > Move displays).
New: history and luck
/fdice historyopens a window with the last 200 rolls (yours and other players') and statistics for your own rolls: average position in the range, number of maximum/minimum rolls and their best streaks, hot/cold streaks, and a luck meter (a z-score from "Cursed by fate" to "Blessed by the gods"). Also shows the current deathroll.
New: look and feel
- Class-coloured names on the plate and boards when the player's class is known.
- Item-quality effects for loot winners: a halo around the icon for green and blue items, purple light rays and a chime for epics, an orange blaze (rays, flames, shockwaves, fanfare) for legendaries.
- Item tooltip: hover the loot plate to see the item; the plate stays up while the tooltip is open.
- Landing surfaces: stone slab, green felt or wooden tray under the die. Each changes the bounce height, the dust and the clatter sound.
- Four dice sets with real new art (not just tints): runed metal (classic), carved bone with ink runes, translucent crystal, and dwarven iron with glowing rune channels. New D4 and D8 shapes in every set.
- EXPERIMENTAL (off by default): show other players' dice next to their party/raid frame (Blizzard party and compact raid frames only; otherwise the normal position is used).
Changed
- Settings window now has six tabs: General, Dice, Text, Timing, Boards, Test.
/fdice testalso acceptsrolloff, deathrolland item qualities (uncommon,rare,epic,legendary).- The addon download is much larger (about 28 dice sprite sheets).
1.2.1
Fixed
- A roll of exactly 100 on
/roll 100now shows a single die labelled "100" instead of an odd "00" + "0" pair. The percentile pair is still used for 10-99 (e.g. "80" + "7"), and a single die for 1-9.
1.2
New: special rolls
- Maximum roll (e.g. 100 on
/roll 100, 20 on/roll 20) now gets a proper celebration: a golden flash, rotating light rays, three shockwaves, confetti, a pulsing "CRITICAL SUCCESS" banner, and a new brass-fanfare-and-cheering sound. - Minimum roll (e.g. 1) gets a sad treatment: a washed-out, slumping die, a dark storm cloud with rain, a dimmed magic circle, a "CRITICAL FAIL" banner, and a sad-trombone sound.
- These apply to ranges of 6 or more, work for loot rolls too, follow the effects level (Minimal keeps only the sound and banner), and can be switched off ("Special effects" in settings).
New: customisation
- 14 dice themes (Arcane, Ember, Frost, Sapphire, Emerald, Fel, Golden, Bronze, Blood, Obsidian, Void, Bone, Rose Quartz, or Automatic by die shape).
- Dice shape: force a coin, D6, D10, D12, D20 or the percentile pair, or leave it on Automatic.
- Fonts and sizes: four number fonts, plus sliders for the result-plate text size and the number on the die.
- Option to keep the Need/Greed/Disenchant colours on loot rolls even when a theme is chosen.
- Size of other players' rolls is now adjustable.
- Settings window rebuilt with tabs (General / Appearance / Timing / Position & Test) and drop-down lists, and extra test buttons for max, min, coin, Need, Greed and Disenchant rolls.
/fdice testacceptsmaxandmin, e.g./fdice test 100 max,/fdice test 20 min.- Simulated rolls now show your chosen theme on the dice (the plate stays blue and marked SIMULATED).
Changed
- The tag on a maximum/minimum roll now reads CRITICAL SUCCESS / CRITICAL FAIL (a winning loot roll still shows WINNER).
1.1
New
- Group loot now shows only the winning roll. The addon holds the Need/Greed/Disenchant rolls for each item and animates just the winner's roll when the "won" line arrives. The plate says "Winner:" and a WINNER tag appears. If the game never prints a "won" line, the best roll (Need beats Greed beats Disenchant, then highest number) is shown after 3 seconds. Turn this off with "Loot rolls: show only the winning roll" in
/fdiceto see every roll again. /fdice lootdebugrecords every raw loot chat line and loot event to a log, and/fdice lootlogopens it in a copyable window (also saved in the addon's saved-variables file). Useful for reporting loot problems./fdice statusnow also reports loot chat lines seen/unmatched and whether the "won" formats were found.
Fixed
- Need/Greed rolls were not detected in WoW Forever. The client prefixes loot-roll lines with a hidden loot ID and colours items with a new style; both are now handled, and the roll number is read correctly.
- Player names shown as clickable links in loot lines are now read correctly.
- A roll of 1-9 on
/roll 100now uses a single die instead of a "00" + digit pair.
1.0.0
- First release: animated, rune-engraved fantasy dice for
/rolland group-loot rolls, with a queue, filters (all / party and raid / mine), movable display, scale and timing settings, effects levels, sound, and simulated test rolls.
