FadeUI fades the default Blizzard UI when you're not using it, and brings it back the moment you need it.
Enjoy the world without action bars, minimap and chat cluttering your screen. If you play on an OLED screen, it also protects you from burn-in caused by static UI elements.
Features
- Fades every part of the default UI on its own: minimap, quest tracker, every action bar, bags, micro menu, chat, player/target/focus/party/raid frames, buffs and debuffs, cast bar, XP/reputation bar, extra action button, cooldown manager, damage meter and more.
- Per-element settings:
- Turn fading on or off.
- Fade delay: seconds of inactivity before the fade starts.
- Fade-out duration.
- Faded opacity, from 0% (invisible) to 50%.
- Visible in combat.
- Show only on mouseover. Hovering a single button on the bar also counts.
- Fade-in duration.
- "Apply to all elements" button to copy one element's settings to all others.
- Smart wake-ups:
- The chat stays visible while you type and wakes up when you get a whisper.
- The target frame wakes up when you change target.
- Everything is fully visible while Edit Mode is open.
- Pause toggle:
/fadeui toggleor a key binding brings everything back instantly. - Lightweight: no libraries. One throttled ticker that sleeps when nothing is enabled.
- Safe: only changes opacity. It never hides or moves frames, so there's no taint and no combat lockdown errors. Works with Midnight's addon restrictions.
Commands
/fadeui: open the settings/fadeui toggle: pause or resume fading/fadeui on/off: master switch/fadeui reset: restore the default settings
Feedback
Is something not fading, or did Blizzard rename a frame? Run /fadeui debug and post the output in the comments.
