Epithet

A World of Warcraft addon that lets you browse every player title, see how each is earned and how rare it is, track the ones you're still missing, spot titles other players are wearing out in the world, and earn Epithet Achievements along the way.

Description

Epithet

Every title you've earned, in one hall of names.

Epithet is a collections add-on for the one reward World of Warcraft never gave a proper home: your titles. the Astral Walker. Hand of A'dal. Scarab Lord. Each one is a story, a raid cleared, a grind survived, a moment that mattered. Epithet gathers them into a single calm, scholarly journal so you can browse, filter, and equip any title in two clicks, without digging through menus or fumbling slash commands (although we do have slash commands if that's your thing).

It looks and feels (hopefully) like a quiet hall of heraldry, built for prestige rather than flash.

What it does

Main Features

  • A complete title catalogue. You can see every title your character has earned alongside every one you haven't. Each with its source, so you always know what's left to chase.
  • Equip in two clicks. Pick a title, set it active. No /script, no guessing the exact spelling, no menu spelunking.
  • Filter and search. Narrow by source - Raid, Dungeon, PvP, Reputation, Quest, Profession, Holiday, Feat of Strength - or just type a name and find it instantly.
  • Sort your way. Alphabetical, by source, or earned-first so your collection floats to the top.
  • Earned vs locked at a glance. Unobtainable and removed titles are marked clearly, so completionists know exactly where they stand.
  • Rarity at a glance. Hard-won titles are flagged so the rare ones don't get lost in the list.

Meta-Collection Features

The meta-collection features are where Epithet really shines, and where the add-on is most different from the default UI:

  • (Title) Spotting log. Every title-bearer you target gets quietly recorded - who, where you saw them, and whether it's a first sighting. Cross paths again and the count just ticks up in the background.
  • Epithet Achievements. A dedicated tab tracks your progress across spotting, collecting, and crossover challenges, secret achievements included, with a popup to let you know the moment you earn one.

It's like bird-watching, but for titles.

Why Epithet

Titles are the most personal trophies in the game, and the most poorly served by the default UI, they are buried in a flat, unsearchable scrollable list that forgets where each one came from. Epithet treats them the way the Mount and Pet journals treat their collections: as something worth showing off.

No clutter. No combat overlays. Just an understated, heraldic catalogue of who you've become, hero.

Getting started

  1. Install and reload.
  2. Open Epithet from the minimap button or with /epithet.
  3. Browse, filter, and click a title to equip it.

Slash commands

Command What it does
/epithet or /titles Toggle the main window
/epithet whatsnew Reopen the What's New dialog for the current version
/epithet minimap Toggle the minimap button
/epithet scan Force a title rescan

Compatibility & footprint

  • Always Retail ready. Updated each patch as new titles arrive.
  • Minimal memory footprint; titles are indexed separately and loaded with each version of Epithet, keeping memory usage otherwise out of your way.
  • Minimap button can be hidden or handed off to your preferred button-collector.

A note on the art

All of Epithet's heraldry - the wax-seal sigil, the minimap mark, the catalogue tiles - is original artwork, drawn as vectors and shipped as in-game textures (.tga files). This is a personal, non-commercial project made by a collector, for collectors.

Feedback & bug reports

If you find a missing title, a wrong source, or have an idea? Reports and suggestions are welcome on the project page on GitHub (you can find a link on CurseForge on the side) - please include your patch version and the title of the issue so it can be tracked down quickly.
