What's new

Enhanced Transmog Browser — 15.620.114

Previous CurseForge release: 15.541.0

This is a large update. ETB now runs on five versions of WoW instead of three, and gains Player Insight, full PvP tracking and Pet Duel (Pet Duel only works if Pet Battles exists)

New game versions

World of Warcraft: Forever — ETB now runs on Forever, with its own data read from the client's own tables rather than guessed from another expansion. The instance and boss lists are this game's, not Cataclysm's; the race and class pairs are this game's nine classes and its two Skyborne races; the mount, pet and toy rosters are what the game actually has. Forever's data ships as a separate download that only loads on Forever, so no other version pays for it.

Forever is a beta and ETB says so. Where a set or an item looks empty, ETB now tells you whether the game has not added it yet or whether ETB cannot read it — of the 532 sets this client lists, 367 are artwork with no item behind them. /etb forevercheck reports every health number in one block.

Classic Era — first release. Everything is built for vanilla only: no later expansions in the lists, nothing pointing at content that does not exist. Gear Browser searches every vanilla item by slot, class and quality; Raid BiS has real lists for all nine classes from LoonBestInSlot; Boss Loot covers the vanilla dungeons and raids.

Retail — updated for patch 12.0.1. ETB no longer shows as out of date.

MoP Classic and TBC Classic continue as before.

New features

Player Insight — hover any player to see their specialisation and gear level, coloured on the same scale you already read on items. Right-click for the full picture: epics, enchants, empty sockets, what is not optimised with the worst problems first, and which of their appearances you do not own. Missing looks go straight to your wishlist. On TBC it reads talent builds and GearScore, which is the number that era actually used.

PvP tracking — /etb duels, /etb pvp and /etb arena record who you fought and what they played, broken down by zone, with a kill counting as solo only when nobody else dealt damage. /etb pvphub shows duels, world PvP and arena in one window, with a Rivals tab for your record against each person across all three. Battleground scoreboards are read at match end, so objectives, opponent specs and Blizzard's own kill counts sit beside ETB's own — counted over the same matches, so the two numbers check each other.

Pet Duel — challenge players to pet battles with verified results and a guild ladder, under Collectibles → Duels. Rival Scout remembers what each opponent brings, how often they open with it and your record against it; pets they use that you do not own are flagged with a button that drops a waypoint at the source. Opt-in: it stays off until you turn it on.

Session planner — /etb session 45 builds a farming plan that fits the time you have.

Group sync — /etb share on shows who else in your group still needs a drop.

Field Notes (Forever) — Forever ships no Encounter Journal, so nobody's addon has its boss loot. Field Notes writes down what you actually see drop, and the gaps close as you play.

Legacy Track (Forever) — /etb legacy lists what all ninety ranks pay out, including the four collectibles: a toy, a companion, a tabard and a mount.

Data

  • Raid BiS for Retail rebuilt from LoonBestInSlot v1.1.3 (was v1.0.8) — every spec across all thirteen classes, including Demon Hunter's Devourer, and close to four times as many ranked items per phase.
  • Classic Era gains its own BiS lists and gear catalogue.
  • Forever gains 1.9 MB of client data across twenty tables: appearances, sets, gear, sources, encounters, achievements, vendors, professions and more, plus the group finder's own instance list with real level ranges and map IDs.

Fixes

  • The Collection Planner redrew itself twice a second for as long as it was open whenever a single row was still waiting on an item name. Drawing the row asked for the name again, which re-armed the refresh that drew it.
  • Hovering an appearance could flicker and redraw repeatedly.
  • "Don't show on login" meant never again. Ticking it — on the tutorial or the release-notes panel — stopped the window opening for every future release too, so an update never announced itself. Both boxes now silence the version you are on and nothing else. If you ticked one before, you keep the quiet you asked for and see the next release.
  • The tutorial window drew 25 lines of text into a space 19 lines tall; the rest landed on top of the buttons. The window is bigger, text no longer overlaps itself, and a wrapped line pushes the next one down.
  • Release notes were cut off at the first 24 lines and ended mid-sentence. They page now.
  • /etb version and the self test reported an older build number than the one installed.
  • Boss loot could be answered out of ETB's Retail loot index on Classic Era.
  • A hunter or warrior with an empty ranged slot is flagged again by the gear audit — that check had been looking for game versions that do not exist.
  • Hovering other players in a raid no longer produces "tried to call a protected function" reports.
  • Faster item lookups: the queue ETB uses to ask the server for item names was being rebuilt from scratch on every request.
  • Boss loot rows are clickable: add to wishlist, ctrl-click to preview, shift-click to link.
  • Twelve developer tools were reachable without turning on debug mode — card camera tuning, leak harnesses, API probes. They now sit behind /etb debug with the rest. The checks you are asked to run on a beta are untouched.
