What's new

Enhanced Transmog Browser — Changelog

v15.541.0

Previous release: v15.372.0

Enhanced Transmog Browser now runs on three flavors. v15.372.0 supported Mists of Pandaria Classic only. This release adds full support for Retail (Midnight, 12.0) and Burning Crusade Classic from the same download — the correct files load for whichever client you are on, and nothing extra loads for the others.

MoP Classic keeps everything it had and gains the new Boss Loot panel, the expanded Gear Browser source filters, and the shared fixes below.

New: Retail (Midnight)

None of this existed for Retail users in v15.372.0.

Boss loot

WoW 12.0 hides a hovered unit's identity from addons — name, GUID, and even the tooltip's own text are unreadable. That restriction is deliberate and applies to every addon, so ETB is built around it rather than against it:

  • Hovering a boss before a pull shows the instance and wing you are in, every boss in that wing, your collection progress for each, and the items you still need, grouped by boss. Defeated bosses drop out as you clear them, and nothing assumes you clear in a fixed order.
  • Hovering a boss mid-fight shows that boss's exact drops.
  • The Adventure Guide and world-map boss pins show exact per-boss loot at any time, including before a pull.

Raid BiS Browser (ERB)

Full ERB support on Retail: boss tooltips, custom BiS lists, spec switching, and BiS rankings (BiS, Alt 2, …) shown best-first in the boss tooltip.

Transmog integration

ETB Sets and ETB Saved Outfits tabs inside Blizzard's transmog window, plus ETB Mode to swap Blizzard's window for ETB's own.

Retail item data

Boss loot from Warlords through Midnight, retail rare tracking, retail BiS data, and a retail collectibles set.

New: Burning Crusade Classic

A build shaped for TBC — a gear and progression tool rather than a transmog one. Transmog modules are intentionally not loaded.

  • Gear Browser, Raid BiS Browser with custom lists, Wishlist, farm planning, weekly alt tracking, cross-character ownership, rare tracking, and boss-loot tooltips.
  • Boss loot for the old world: 586 bosses and 6,005 items covering Vanilla and TBC dungeons and raids, including rares and mini-bosses.
  • Boss tooltips show everything your class can equip, including trinkets, rings, and necks — there is no transmog on TBC, so the appearance-only filter does not apply. The status mark means owned, not appearance collected.
  • Crafting: recipe reagents and profession attribution in item tooltips.

New on every flavor

Boss Loot panel

A dedicated window for browsing any boss's drops without hovering anything. Reachable from the Gear Browser card on the minimap button, or /etb bossloot.

  • Cascading filters — Expansion, then Instance, each narrowing the next, plus a search box.
  • Per-boss collection counts, with your uncollected items highlighted.
  • Both panes scroll.
  • On MoP and Retail, owned and appearance collected are shown as separate states — an appearance can be collected while the item itself is long gone.

Gear Browser source filters

Profession, PvP, and Quest now return results, backed by nearly 19,000 quest-reward items plus crafting and PvP attribution.

Fixes

  • Context menus and dropdowns work on Retail, where the old menu API was removed.
  • Custom BiS lists no longer revert to the bundled source after a reload.
  • The Custom BiS editor opens on Retail.
  • ETB tabs no longer draw over Blizzard's transmog panel, and no longer vanish when ETB Mode is used.
  • Boss lists no longer show a boss twice for multi-difficulty or multi-creature encounters.
  • Item counts in a header now match the items actually listed beneath it.
  • Check and cross marks render correctly instead of empty boxes.

Known limitations

  • Retail, inside instances: hovering a boss before pulling it will not name that specific boss. Blizzard blocks addons from reading a hovered unit's identity. Use the wing summary, the Adventure Guide, or the map pins.
  • Quest source is derived from quest rewards; an item obtainable several ways is attributed to one source.
  • Other is a fallback covering world drops, vendors, reputation, containers, and anything without source attribution.
