What's new

EdQOL changelog

2.1.4 (2026-11-05)

  • MultiBox team: removing a character now sticks. It used to come straight back, because your other characters still listed it and their hellos (and the list kept on this PC) added it again. A removal now goes out to all your characters, including ones that come online later, and hellos from the removed character are ignored. Adding it back by hand (Add button or /edqol team add) undoes the removal everywhere.

2.1.3 (2026-11-05)

  • MultiBox quest needs: a character with many quest items to collect now sends its whole list. It used to stop at about a dozen items (alphabetically), so later ones such as Tunnel Rat Ear for Rat Catching never reached the rest of the team. Long lists now go out in several messages.
  • Quests under a collapsed header in the quest log are now read too, once the character has seen them in its log with the header open.

2.1.2 (2026-11-05)

  • Node relay: while the follower still sees a node, the lead's marker for it stays up, or comes back silently if it had faded. The follower sends its nearest 5 nodes every 20 seconds; gathered or out-of-range nodes fade after 30 seconds as before.

2.1.1 (2026-11-05)

  • Node finder: the icons on the tracking character's minimap now stay on their nodes while you move, instead of drifting off and snapping back at the next scan.

2.1.0 (2026-11-05)

  • MultiBox quest needs (new MBNeeds.lua): every window reads the item objectives in its quest log ("Linen Cloth: 3/10"), whether or not the game flags the item as a quest item, and shares what it still needs with the team.
  • Master loot: an item a team member still needs goes to them (most missing first, ties to whoever got one longest ago). Character rules still win when "rules take priority" is on; option "Loot quest items to who needs them".
  • Trading: opening a trade with one of your characters puts in your spare items that their quests still need, split to the right amount and never what your own quests need. Chat hint when you have spares someone needs. Option "Trade spare quest items"; /edqol team give re-runs it, /edqol team needs lists everyone's needs.
  • The quest-item fill runs first; the item-rule and profession fills wait for it and leave quest-needed items alone (they used to add the rest of a split stack, so the whole stack went).

2.0.3 (2026-11-05)

  • Master loot: mage scrolls ("Scroll: ..." items that need Comprehension) now go to a mage in the group, or to you when there is no mage. They used to fall through to you only, which the game can refuse, leaving them in the loot window. Your own character rules still come first.
  • "could not assign" now lists who was tried.
  • New Node finder (Settings > AddOns > EdQOL > Node finder, or /edqol nodes): while Find Minerals or Find Herbs is on, EdQOL reads the ore and herb dots on the minimap, covers each dot with the node's own item icon (round, in a classic gold ring) and its name, pings the minimap where a new one shows up (your group sees the ping) and plays a sound you pick (map ping, raid warning, ready check, whisper or none). At most one alert every 5 seconds. Off by default; pauses in combat and when the minimap is hidden. English node names only.
  • MultiBox: new "Relay node finds to the lead" option (on by default). When a follower's node finder spots something new, the lead window prints what and where ("Ehh-Magus found Copper Vein near ..."), plays its node sound and shows the node's own item icon (Copper Ore, Peacebloom...), round in a classic gold ring, at the spot on its own minimap for 30 seconds, fading out at the end (held at the edge when the node is out of range). At most once every 10 seconds.

2.0.2 (2026-11-05)

  • Player names the game hides (secret values) are now skipped instead of causing a Lua error in master loot, trading and mail.
  • Stranger loot: the "loot method set to Group Loot" message only shows when the change actually worked.
  • README: install line no longer mentions the beta folder.

2.0.1 (2026-10-22)

  • Credits: MAMA (MooreaTV, LGPLv3) credited in the MultiBox files it was adapted into, in the README, and in a new NOTICE.md. No behaviour changes.

2.0.0 (2026-10-22)

  • Version 2: MultiBox Tools tested in game (team discovery, invites, stranger loot, quest sharing/abandon, dialog mirroring, single-option skip, follow binding, macro, follow alerts, profession trading). No code changes since 1.11.3.
  • README rewritten as a full feature list.

1.11.3 (2026-10-22)

  • MultiBox profession trading: when nobody on the team has the crafting profession, mats now go to the matching gatherer instead of staying put: leather to the best skinner, herbs to the best herbalist, bars and stones to the best miner.

1.11.2 (2026-10-22)

  • MultiBox macro: no /follow line any more (use the Follow the lead key). The starter is now #showtooltip, /assist <lead>, a comment line ("EdQOL keeps /assist on your lead. Edit below this line.") and a spell your class has at level 1 (Heroic Strike, Sinister Strike, Fireball, Smite, Lightning Bolt, Shadow Bolt, Wrath, !Auto Shot; Paladin /startattack). An unedited 1.11.0 starter is replaced automatically.
  • Chat line when the macro's /assist target changes.

1.11.1 (2026-10-22)

  • MultiBox: team discovery fixed. The two WoW accounts had different team keys (the PC list only syncs at logout/reload, last writer wins), so each side ignored the other's hello. The team key now comes from your Battle.net account, so every WoW account under the same Battle.net login matches straight away.
  • The key itself is never sent any more: hellos carry a hash of the key and the sender's name, so they are also safe on the group and guild channels. Characters you haven't met yet now find you when grouped or in the same guild.
  • Windows keep saying hello (30s, 60s, then every 2 minutes) while a team member hasn't answered, so a character logging in later is found and auto-invited.
  • /edqol team debug prints MultiBox messages sent and received.

1.11.0 (2026-10-22)

  • New settings page: EdQOL > MultiBox Tools (ideas from MAMA by MooreaTV, written fresh). Every window needs EdQOL.
  • Team: characters register themselves in a list kept on this PC (seen by both WoW accounts) and share names when they meet; you can also type names. Strangers can't add themselves (team key in whispers only).
  • Auto invite (by the character ticked as inviter, converts to raid above 5) and auto accept from team members.
  • Loot: Group Loot while someone outside your team is in a group with your characters; back to Master Loot when they leave.
  • Quests: share what you accept, accept what the team shares, abandon on all windows (never quests ready to turn in).
  • Mirror the lead window's gossip options, quest pick-up/continue/turn-in, flight paths and popup buttons. Reward choices are never mirrored: quests with a choice stay open for you to pick.
  • Skip single-option NPC dialogs (hold Shift/Ctrl/Alt to see them).
  • Follow-broken warnings and whisper forwarding (incl. "hidden whisper" notices during chat lockdown) to the lead.
  • Key bindings (Settings > Keybindings > EdQOL): Follow the lead, Make this window the lead, Invite the team.
  • Per-character "EdQOL" macro: /follow and /assist lines kept on the lead, your own lines below.
  • Optional: put profession mats in trades with your characters (professions are shared between windows).
  • New commands: /edqol team ..., /edqol macro ...

1.10.1 (2026-10-22)

  • Settings: tightened the Quick add area (shorter drop box, shorter button names, shorter help text) so it no longer spills out of the page.

1.10.0 (2026-10-22)

  • Master loot rules: new "Quick add" preset buttons under the Items list (Tailoring, Leatherworking, Mining/Smithing, Herbalism, Enchanting, Cooking, Engineering, Recipes, Gems, and Cloth/Leather/Mail/Plate gear). Each adds ordinary rules to the selected character, which you can remove individually with the x.
  • New rule kinds: goods:<subtype> (trade goods only, so goods:Cloth no longer matches cloth armour) and a whole-class Recipe / Gem rule used by the presets. You can type goods:Cloth in the add box too.

1.9.0 (2026-10-21)

  • Master loot: items below the loot threshold (grey etc.) are now always looted by you; the checkbox is gone.
  • Master loot: bind-on-pickup items of Uncommon quality or better that are not quest items and match no character rule are no longer auto-assigned: they stay in the loot window so you choose who gets them (a chat line says so). New checkbox "Leave bind-on-pickup items (uncommon+) for me to assign by hand" (on by default). Character rules and quest round-robin still win.

1.8.6 (2026-10-21)

  • Settings pages (EdQOL and Tools) now show your saved settings the first time you open them instead of blank/unticked until you switched pages and came back.

1.8.5 (2026-10-21)

  • Destroy window: "Best use" replaced by "Potential value: Xg Ys" (the best of vendor / AH after cut / disenchant, for the whole stack), with a line underneath showing each option like the item tooltip, best one in green.

1.8.4 (2026-10-21)

  • Destroy window: removed the red "not a grey item" and yellow "worth more sold" warnings; the window is shorter and shows just the item, its values, best use and the buttons.

1.8.3 (2026-10-21)

  • The Auction listing window now closes automatically when the auction house closes.

1.8.2 (2026-10-21)

  • AH listing: after loading an item, the stock sell page's quantity is raised to the full amount being listed (e.g. 13 instead of the first stack's 10), using the stock Max button.

1.8.1 (2026-10-21)

  • Windows remember where you dragged them (AH listing, Disenchant, Bag clean-up, Destroy).
  • AH listing: stacks of the same stackable item are combined into one row and listed as a single auction (e.g. a stack of 10 plus a stack of 3 = 13 at once). Gear is still listed one at a time.

1.8.0 (2026-10-21)

  • Minimap button: right-click now opens a small menu with Bag clean-up, Disenchant window and Destroy lowest value item (each with an icon). Left click is still settings, drag still moves it.

1.7.12 (2026-10-21)

  • Removed the Settings > EdQOL > Value page. The tooltip verdict is always on, and the Disenchant tab always lists every eligible item (the "only where disenchanting wins" filter is gone). The AH cut is still set with /edqol cut <percent> (default 5).

1.7.11 (2026-10-21)

  • Vendor sell button moved to the blank strip at the top right of the merchant window, directly under the X button, so it no longer covers the buyback slot.

1.7.10 (2026-10-21)

  • Bag clean-up: hovering the item now shows the real bag-slot tooltip (soulbound, enchants), not a generic one that said Binds when equipped.
  • Bag clean-up: "Best use" only suggests options you can actually use; a soulbound item no longer suggests Disenchant or Auction House.

1.7.9 (2026-10-21)

  • Bag clean-up: new "Skip this session" button hides an item until you relog or reload (not saved). /edqol clean unhide brings them back. The plain Skip button still just moves on to the next item.

1.7.8 (2026-10-21)

  • Bag clean-up no longer lists grey (Poor) items; they are sold as junk anyway.

1.7.7 (2026-10-21)

  • Vendor sell button copies the exact size of the stock repair button instead of a fixed 36x36.
  • Removed the bag badges from 1.7.5: they only work with the default bags and can't cover other bag addons.

1.7.6 (2026-10-21)

  • Vendor sell button now uses the same 36x36 item-button style as the stock repair / sell junk / buyback buttons and sits on their row at the right edge of the merchant window.

1.7.5 (2026-10-21)

  • (Bag badges were added here and removed again in 1.7.7.)
  • The vendor sell button moved to the right edge of the merchant window, just above the money display.

1.7.4 (2026-10-21)

  • AH listing now drives the stock auction house UI: click 1 loads the item into the AH's Sell tab (the stock UI searches and sets the lowest price itself), click 2 posts at that price. The window compares the AH's price with the Auctionator (expected) price and colours the difference. Replaces the home-made search from 1.7.2/1.7.3.

1.7.3 (2026-10-21)

  • AH listing: the search now shows in the AH window for every item, not just the first. The AH ignores the request until it has loaded the item's details, so EdQOL now waits for that (up to ~3s) before selecting it, and only falls back to a background search if that never happens.

1.7.2 (2026-10-21)

  • Auction listing is now two clicks per item: 1) "Check lowest price" searches the AH for the item (and shows it in the AH window), 2) "List at <price>" posts at the lowest price found. The price box stays editable between the clicks.

1.7.1 (2026-10-21)

  • Bag clean-up: "Never offer" button keeps an item (e.g. the Hearthstone, ignored by default) out of the list for good. Tick "Also show marked and ignored items" to bring one back with "Stop ignoring"; /edqol clean ignored lists them. This list is separate from the Destroy never-offer list.

1.7.0 (2026-10-21)

  • Bag clean-up (/edqol clean): walks through your bags one item type at a time and lets you mark each as Vendor, Auction House or Disenchant, with values and a suggested best use. Marks are per character. /edqol marks shows counts, /edqol marks clear removes them.
  • Vendor: a coin icon button on the merchant window sells every item marked for vendoring.
  • Auction house: a listing window opens beside the AH with the items marked for the AH; pick one, check the suggested price (Auctionator, optional undercut via /edqol undercut), click List, and it moves to the next. /edqol ah toggles it.
  • Disenchant: marked items stay for the Disenchant tab at the mailbox. Items marked Vendor/AH are now left out of the Disenchant tab and window, and any marked item is skipped by the Destroy feature.

1.6.2 (2026-10-21)

  • Disenchant window fills its list as soon as it opens (and again when item details finish loading); any error is now printed to chat instead of silently leaving the list empty.
  • Destroy: items are ranked by the higher of vendor value or Auction House value (after the AH cut), so something that vendors low but auctions high is kept, and items low on both (or unlistable) come first. The window shows both values.

1.6.1 (2026-10-21)

  • Disenchant window and Destroy window now use the game's standard window frame (title bar, close button, dark inset) instead of a flat custom box. Falls back to the classic dialog border if that frame isn't available.

1.6.0 (2026-10-21)

  • New Disenchant window (/edqol de): lists the unbound (BoE) Uncommon-Epic gear in your bags with the approximate disenchant value, and one Disenchant button to click once per item down the list. Rows turn orange and say "AH pays more" when selling on the Auction House would earn more than disenchanting. Standalone: ignores loot rules and the Destroy never-offer list.

1.5.5 (2026-10-21)

  • Tooltip: hold Shift to see what a disenchantable item turns into (chance, amount, price each) and the expected value. The disenchant value was already a chance-weighted average (chance x average amount x Auctionator price, minus the AH cut).
  • The most valuable option (Vendor / AH / Disenchant) is now shown in green in tooltips, the Disenchant list and the Destroy window.

1.5.4 (2026-10-21)

  • Disenchant tab: hovering an item in the list shows its tooltip (including the EdQOL value line).

1.5.3 (2026-10-21)

  • Disenchant tab no longer uses the Destroy "Never offer" list; it is now fully standalone (only soulbound, locked, quality limit and its own x-skips apply).

1.5.2 (2026-10-21)

  • Disenchant tab now ignores character loot rules entirely (they only affect master looting and trading). The rule-skip checkbox from 1.5.1 is removed.

1.5.1 (2026-10-21)

  • Disenchant tab: items that qualify but are left out are now counted under the list with the reason (matches a character rule, never-destroy list, skipped with x, ...). /edqol mail why lists them; /edqol mail why <name> explains one bag item.
  • Disenchant tab: new checkbox "Skip items that match a character's loot rule" (own setting; the Destroy window keeps its own). Default stays on.
  • Disenchant tab: the list refreshes when your bags change; x-skips now apply to that exact item instead of the bag slot.

1.5.0 (2026-10-21)

  • Value verdicts: for any item, compares vendor price, Auction House price (Auctionator, minus the AH cut) and, for Uncommon-Epic weapons/armour, the expected disenchant value (Forever disenchant table by required level, materials priced from Auctionator), and says which is best.
  • Item tooltips get one EdQOL line with the verdict and the three values.
  • Destroy window shows the item's best use and warns when selling or disenchanting beats destroying it.
  • Disenchant tab rows show each item's best use; optional filter to list only items where disenchanting wins.
  • New Settings > EdQOL > Value page (tooltip on/off, filter, AH cut). /edqol value <item> shows the full workings, /edqol cut <percent> sets the AH cut.

1.4.1 (2026-10-21)

  • Mailbox: the Disenchant tab now copies the stock tabs' spacing, top edge and height, so it no longer overlaps Send Mail.

1.4.0 (2026-10-21)

  • Disenchant tab layout fixed: list rows, quality buttons and recipient box now fit the mailbox width; the item count and status lines no longer sit under the buttons.
  • "To:" box now suggests names: your own characters (remembered account-wide as each one logs in with EdQOL) plus the game's own autocomplete (friends, guild, group, account characters). Click, Tab, or Up/Down + Enter to pick. Focusing the box lists your alts.

1.3.0 (2026-10-20)

  • Mailbox: new "Disenchant" tab that mass-mails disenchantable gear (weapons/armour, Uncommon up to a chosen quality, unbound) to a saved character. The recipient is stored account-wide. Batches of up to a full mail's attachments, each sent after the previous succeeds; click x to skip an item.
  • Excludes soulbound items, shirts/tabards/fishing poles, items matching a character rule and the never-destroy list.

1.2.3 (2026-10-20)

  • Help text in the settings pages now wraps inside the window instead of spilling over; main page lists trimmed by one row.

1.2.2 (2026-10-20)

  • Minimap button: left click now toggles the settings window (closes it if an EdQOL page is open).

1.2.1 (2026-10-20)

  • Minimap button: circular border now shown (numeric texture IDs instead of path strings); dragging rewritten to not depend on the client's drag events.

1.2.0 (2026-10-20)

  • Destroy: order is purely by vendor value again (quality only breaks ties).
  • Destroy window shows the Auction lines from the item tooltip (Auctionator value / age); falls back to Auctionator's price API.
  • Minimap button: left click opens settings, right click opens the destroy window, drag to move. /edqol minimap or the Tools checkbox toggles it.

1.1.1 (2026-10-20)

  • Destroy: lowest quality is offered first (Poor before Common), cheapest first within each quality.
  • Destroy: new "Never offer" button in the confirmation window blacklists an item (by item ID); manage the list in Settings > EdQOL > Tools.

1.1.0 (2026-10-20)

  • Auto-trade: opening a trade with a character from your loot-rule lists adds their matching bag items to the trade window (up to 6, soulbound skipped). /edqol trade re-runs it.
  • Destroy lowest value item: /edqol destroy (or Settings > EdQOL > Tools) finds the cheapest safe bag item and asks for confirmation (icon, tooltip, value, Next/Destroy/Cancel). Skips quest items, no-value items, items above a quality limit (default Common) and items matching a character rule.
  • New Tools settings subpanel; shared bag scanner (Bags.lua).

1.0.0 (2026-10-20)

First stable release, tested in WoW Forever (interface 16001).

  • Auto Master Loot when leading a group; loot threshold defaults to Poor (grey), selectable in options or /edqol threshold.
  • Loot assignment: character rules, quest-item round-robin, default to self; failed assignments fall through to the next candidate.
  • Rule types: item ID / link, name words, type:, armor: (Cloth/Leather/Mail/Plate), drag and drop from bags.
  • Options panel under Settings > AddOns > EdQOL.
  • Dismisses the leftover Master Looter menu and closes an emptied loot window.
  • Loots free-for-all (below-threshold) items for you (option).

Known: coin-only corpses are handled by the client, not EdQOL. Forever beta SavedVariables bug may reset settings (client issue).
