Dungeon Worth

Tells you whether a dungeon is worth running in WoW Forever by adding up quest pickup, travel, LFG wait and clear time, then weighing it against the XP and loot you'd get.

I built Dungeon Worth because in Forever, running a dungeon is a real commitment again. There's no group finder teleport and the meeting stones don't summon, so before you even pull the first pack you've walked to three quest givers, run halfway across the continent and sat in the LFG tool waiting on a healer. This addon adds all of that up and tells you whether the dungeon is actually worth it right now, or whether you'd do better questing.

Open it with the pocket-watch button on your minimap or /dw. Every dungeon near your level gets a row showing the detour to pick up its quests, the travel time from where you're standing, how long getting a group should take for your role, how long the clear takes, and the XP it's worth with kills and quest rewards together. Then you get a verdict: Worth it, Marginal or Skip. Below max level that verdict compares the dungeon's XP per hour against your own questing XP per hour, so it's measured against how you actually play, not some generic number.

Group times come from the LFG tool itself. Scan it and the addon looks at how many tanks, healers and DPS are listed for each dungeon and how many groups are fighting over them, so a DPS sees a very different wait than a tank does. Click any dungeon and its loot drops down underneath, with every quest reward and boss drop rated against what you're wearing. There's also a Share quests button that sends your dungeon quests to the whole group in one click, and if there's a warlock in the party it works out whether a summon beats walking.

Please Note: Forever's in beta and there's no dungeon journal, so a lot of this starts as educated guesses. Clear times, loot tables for the new dungeons and some portal spots are rough at first. The addon learns from every run you do, though, and if your guildies run it too, everyone's clear times, group waits, portal spots and loot sightings get shared, so the numbers get good fast. It also covers all nine of Forever's new dungeons, from Hall of Thanes and Ruins of Lordaeron to the ones that haven't opened yet.

If something looks off, type /dw selftest and paste what it says in the comments. I'm going to keep tuning this through launch and I can't wait to see how the numbers settle once everyone's actually running these dungeons.

Getting started

Left-click the minimap button to open the window, and right-click it to scan the LFG tool. Click any dungeon row to see its loot. Settings are under Esc > Options > AddOns > Dungeon Worth.

/dw opens the window
/dw selftest checks that everything's working
/dw share sends your dungeon quests to the group
/dw entrance <dungeon> saves the exact portal spot while you're standing at it
/dw help lists every command
