Description
DuelJack
1v1 Blackjack duels for your party, using nothing but /roll.
Challenge a group member, roll your cards, hit or stand, and climb your own scoreboard. Every card is a real server /roll, so no one can fake a card, and everyone in the group sees the rolls in chat. No gold, no trades, no bets: just bragging rights.
Works on Retail (Midnight 12.x) and WoW: Forever.
Features
- 1v1 duels inside your group. One click on "Challenge"; your opponent gets an Accept / Decline popup.
- Best of 1, 3 or 5 hands.
- Fair, server-side cards. Cards are
/roll 1-13. Each player's addon reads the rolls from system chat and checks the range, the turn and the card count, so both clients always agree on the game. - A clear table view. You see both hands as cards, the totals, whose turn it is, a turn timer and the running score.
- Turn timers and AFK protection. If you don't decide in 60 s you stand automatically. If your opponent stops playing for 90 s, you can claim the win.
- A personal scoreboard for each character:
- wins, losses and win rate
- current and best win streak
- hands played and hands won
- your record against every opponent
- your last 500 duels, with the hand-by-hand result
- Share your scoreboard. One click posts a summary in group chat and sends your full scoreboard to everyone with DuelJack. You can also ask any group member for theirs.
- Result announcements. The winner posts the result in group chat (one message per duel, and you can turn it off).
- Keybindings for Deal / Hit and Stand, plus a minimap button and slash commands.
- No dependencies. No libraries, no extra addons required.
How to play
- Both players install DuelJack and join the same party or raid.
- Type
/dj(or click the minimap button) to open the window. - Choose Best of 1 / 3 / 5 and click Challenge next to a group member.
- When the duel starts, click Deal twice to roll your two cards.
- On your turn, click Hit (roll another card) or Stand. After you hit, the turn passes to your opponent (unless they already stood).
- Going over 21 loses the hand. When both players stand, the higher total wins. A tie is a push and the hand is replayed.
- The first player to win the majority of hands wins the duel.
Cards: /roll 1-13. An Ace (1) counts as 1 or 11, whichever is better; 2–10 are worth their number; J, Q and K (11–13) are worth 10. A 21 with your first two cards is a Blackjack and stands automatically.
Who goes first: the challenger starts hand 1, then the first player alternates every hand.

FAQ
Do both players need the addon? Yes. Both players need DuelJack and must be in the same party or raid. Group members without it only see the /roll lines and the result message in chat.
Is there any gold or betting involved? No. DuelJack never touches gold or trades. It only counts wins and losses.
Can someone cheat? No one can make up a card. Every card is a real server roll that each client reads from system chat. Each client checks that the roll is 1–13, that it's that player's turn and how many cards they hold, and ignores everything else. Typing /roll 13 yourself on your turn works exactly like the button.
The Deal / Hit button does nothing. The button is locked for about a second when a hand starts, and while your roll is on its way. If the game still blocks it, use your keybind or type /roll 13 in chat.
My opponent shows "no addon detected". Click Scan. Detection happens when players join the group or log in, so it can lag right after an invite. You can still send the challenge; it only arrives if they have DuelJack.
Why can't I hit twice in a row? Turns alternate after each hit, so both players decide with the same information. If your opponent has already stood, you keep hitting until you stand or bust.
What happens on a tie? It's a push: nobody scores and the hand is replayed.
My opponent went AFK or disconnected. After 60 s their own addon makes them stand. If their game is closed, the Claim win button appears after 90 s without a move. The win is recorded as "no response".
What if someone leaves the group mid-duel? The player who left loses and the other player wins ("left group"). If the group disbands and the addon can't tell who left, the duel is voided and not counted.
Where is my scoreboard saved? It's saved per character in WTF\Account\<account>\<realm>\<character>\SavedVariables\DuelJack.lua. Retail and WoW: Forever use separate folders, so their scoreboards are separate too.
What does sharing send? Your totals, your top 8 opponents and your last 12 duels. Players who have DuelJack can browse it in the Received boards window, which keeps up to 20 shared scoreboards. You can stop answering scoreboard requests in Options.
Can I turn off the result message in group chat? Yes: /dj help → Options → "Announce my wins in group chat". Only the winner posts, so a duel never produces two messages.
How do I reset my scoreboard? Use Options → Reset scoreboard (click it twice), or type /dj reset confirm. This can't be undone.
Does it work with the older Spanish version (1.0.0)? Yes. The duel protocol hasn't changed, so players on 1.0.0 and 1.1.0 can duel each other. The old Spanish slash commands still work.
Which game versions are supported? Retail (Midnight 12.x) and WoW: Forever. The TOC also lists Classic Era.
Something went wrong. What should I send? Type /dj debug and send the output, plus any Lua error, to the author.
