Ding! Level up!

Celebrate every new level in WoW Forever with a gold achievement-style Ding popup, your new level, and an optional achievement sound.

Features

• Achievement-style banner with your level, glow, and optional sound.
• Separate automatic-sharing checkboxes for Party, Guild, and Whisper. Enable any combination.
• Multiple whisper recipients: one full character name per line, including Forever first names and surnames.
• Add friend picker for your WoW character friends list. Select several people, then click Done.
• Whisper names save automatically as you type, per character.
• Default Ding message, achievement-style text, or a custom message using {level}, {name}, and {class}.
• Announcements earned during combat wait until combat and chat restrictions end, then send automatically.
• Settings under Options > AddOns > Ding, or with /ding. No external libraries required.

Getting started

Open /ding, choose your message, and check the automatic channels you want. Automatic sharing starts disabled. Under Whisper to, enter one full character name per line or use Add friend, then enable Whisper. Delete a line to remove a recipient. The friend picker uses character friends, not Battle.net account names or BattleTags.

• /ding — open settings.
• /ding preview — preview the popup and sound without sending messages.
• /ding test — show the popup and send labelled test messages to checked automatic channels and listed whisper recipients.
• /ding share — retry incomplete automatic announcements for the latest earned level.
• /ding status — show local sharing diagnostics and queued announcements.

The banner starts in the lower centre above the action bars. Previews and chat tests close after 5 seconds, even while hovered. Real level-up banners last 15 seconds and remain visible while hovered. Drag the popup to move it for the session, or right-click to dismiss it. The popup has an Options link; manual Share buttons and Say sharing have been removed.

Successful channels and recipients are skipped when retrying the same level. Unchecked channels are skipped, and only the newest queued level is retained. Test messages are never queued.

Compatibility and notes

Built for WoW Forever 1.60.1, interface 16001. This is a cosmetic addon achievement: it does not award Blizzard achievement points or add an entry to the game's achievement collection. Announcements are ordinary chat text, and other players do not need Ding installed.

Chat remains subject to game restrictions and recipient availability. Guild sharing requires guild membership. Sending successfully does not confirm that an offline recipient received the message.

Installation

Extract the ZIP so the final path is Interface/AddOns/Ding/Ding.toc inside your Forever client folder, then restart the game and enable Ding in the AddOns list. After updating an existing installation, use /reload.
