Deedlog-0.98.3
What's new
Deedlog: what changed since 0.70
Compact overview, 0.70 to 0.98.3. Everything is available in English, German, Spanish and French.
0.71 – 0.79: journal and places
- The journal reads like pages: day headings, cards with a gilt seal for grand moments, icon filters, torn parchment. The journal map is larger, with a gilt progress bar.
- The story is a page of its own; newly added text is written in. The date moved into the day heading and tooltip.
- Places: finishing every quest of a village, camp or fort is a milestone (e.g. all of Deathknell). New Places tab and
/deedlog places. - A brand-new character gets a first milestone on its first login.
- The notice starts under the buffs, the journal always opens on its first tab, and screenshots are off by default.
- Milestone texts, roleplay lines, arrivals and level summaries now address you directly.
- Fix: the note dialog saved nothing on current clients.
0.80 – 0.81: roleplay lines
- Roughly twice as many roleplay headings per milestone kind.
- Each of the fifteen capitals has its own arrival sentence and eight headings; place names were checked against sources.
0.82 – 0.88: commentary mode
- A dry narrator comments on quests, level-ups, targets, kills, close calls, deaths, boss kills, achievements, epic items, mounts, explored zones, gold, capitals and logins.
/deedlog comment on|off. - Remarks on a new character's first quest, new gear, long looks at the character window, full bags, new spells (with class-specific lines), and your first silver and gold.
- Comments show in the milestone notice at the top right, handwritten, without sound; with notices off they go to chat.
- Comments for all twelve Northshire Valley quests, including quest items and kills along the way.
0.89 – 0.93: commentary grows
- Class remarks (all 13 classes) on level-ups, deaths, close calls, hard kills, streaks, elite targets and first boss kills.
- Stacked comments: a second comment appears under the first after a short pause.
- Quieter quest progress: first step, then now and then, always the last; no line repeats until all were heard; never the same line twice in a row.
- Quest coverage: every quest has a remark by kind of errand; 251 Classic quests, 875 questline quests and 238 starting-zone quests have their own lines.
- On by default, with an explanation and an off switch on the welcome page.
- 40 random remarks each for kill and collect quests (also in quests with own comments, more rarely), plus remarks for critters, weak beasts and rested experience running out.
- 0.93.1: quests that end on an item (e.g. Garrick's head) say their item line instead of "ready".
0.94 – 0.98: new remarks and polish
- 0.94: escalating remarks for endless jumping, ending in a sulk and an apology; distance milestones on foot at 1, 5, 10, 21.1, 42.2 (marathon), 100, 250, 500 and 1000 km.
- 0.95: a second comment is written on in the same window instead of opening another.
- 0.96: a remark when a piece of the map is uncovered, fitting the place's kind (water, mine, fort, farm, ruin, inn, camp).
- 0.97: the comment window grows with its text, and words are never written across the line edge. Jump remarks only every few hours (cooldown grows with the stage). The animated journey plays at half speed.
- 0.98: remarks after long quiet stretches ("Nice here, but have you ever been to …?") and when the character stands still. Map discoveries are now detected from the map's uncovered count, not the game's message. The milestone window is always tall enough for its text.
