v0.8.2-forever
What's new
DaylightUI 0.8.2
Raid frames show debuffs and crowd control with one-click Quick looks, Design mode on every frame page, soft UI sounds, frames that snap to each other, and smoother nameplates in crowds.
New
- Info panel: The damage meter's names can be any color (Info panel > Damage meter > Bars > Name color)
- Action bars: The totem timers above the player frame can be switched off, made see-through and faded like the bars (Action Bars > Bar Layout > Totem Timers)
- Unit frames: Combo points can sit above the target (or player) frame, centered or at either end, or stretched across the whole frame (Unit Frames > Extras > Combo points)
- Nameplates: Combo points on your target's plate can go above or below the bar, and their height, width, spacing, outline and angled ends are adjustable; they use your Unit Frames combo colors (Nameplates > Target > Combo points)
- Options: Switches for effects that had none: Motion effects (General > Appearance > Motion), Ping when ready (Action Bars > Look), Count gold changes (Bags), XP gain effects (Info Panel > Experience bar)
- Unit frames: More combo point colors: shade from one color to another along the row, your class color, or a gradient per point (new Point 1 to 5 pairs on the Gradients page); the whole row can turn the full color at your most points, and empty pips can be dimmer (Unit Frames > Extras > Combo points)
- Raid frames: Debuffs and crowd control now show on raid tiles, kept small and clear of the role icon and marker; debuffs, crowd control and buffs can each sit anywhere on the tile or beside it, with timer numbers if you want them (Unit Frames > Raid)
- Options: The Raid page has a live preview like the other frame pages, one tile with a Zoom slider (it starts 3 times bigger) so it's easy to read: hover a part to see what it is, click it to jump to its settings; /dui test raid shows sample debuffs, crowd control and buffs on the tiles
- Raid frames: Quick looks: Healer, DPS / Tank, Battleground and Minimal setups in one click; DaylightUI puts it all back (Unit Frames > Raid > Quick looks)
- Options: Design mode on the Raid page: switch it on at the top of the page and drag a piece of the preview to move it; it follows your cursor, then snaps to the nearest spot or stays where you drop it
- Buffs: A buff's timer turns warm and breathes in its last 5 seconds, and new buffs glow softly as they land
- General: Soft UI sounds: a quiet, airy shh for windows, menus and toggles in place of the game's clicks (General > Sound)
- Layout: Moving frames: they snap to other frames' edges and centers with a guide line (the Snap to frames button in unlock mode turns it off). Hold Shift to drop anywhere
- Raid frames: Pieces can also sit outside a tile: above, below, on its left or right, or off any of its corners, the raid marker, leader crown, role and dispel icons too; the Raid page preview shows one tile carrying every piece
- Options: Design mode: click a piece, then pull its grips to resize it; the health bar's grips resize the whole tile, the power bar's makes it thicker and the tile with it; the preview changes as you pull
- Unit frames: Cast bars can sit inside the frame, above it, below it, or on their own, with a nudge left, right, up or down; the target's auras move out to make room (Unit Frames > Cast Bars > Where)
- Options: Design mode on every frame page, the player's, focus's, pet's and target of target's too: pull the health and power bar grips to resize the frame
- Options: In Design mode, dragging one debuff or buff on the Target preview carries the whole row with it
- Options: Every frame page's preview (player, target, focus, target of target, pet, party) has the Zoom slider at its bottom right, like the Raid page's: up to 4 times bigger, kept per page until you log out
- Options: In Design mode the settings under the preview show only the piece you picked; "Every setting for this piece" takes you back to all of them
Changed
- General: If DaylightUI ever hits an error, it reports it once (and again at 10, 100 and 1000 times) instead of flooding your screen or BugSack
- Nameplates: Plates are cheaper to draw (about a third fewer of the slow, masked pieces per plate, the same look), so crowds cost fewer frames
- Target frame: Its debuffs and buffs can sit at any spot around the frame or inside it (still clear of the angled end), grow either way and be nudged; in Design mode on the Target page you can drag and resize them (Unit Frames > Target)
- Party frames: Debuffs and buffs use the same placement as raid frames (any spot on the frame or beside it, clear of the portrait and name tab), plus an optional crowd-control icon. Your current layout is kept (Unit Frames > Party)
- Raid frames: Tiles can be up to 80 tall and their power bar up to 20 (were 60 and 12)
- Quests: Click a zone name in the quest tracker to fold its quests away (a folded zone shows how many it holds); the Fold button is gone, since clicking the Quests header folds the whole list
- Raid frames: The name can sit anywhere on a tile or beside it, and up to 40 tiles fit on one line (the default layout is unchanged; Unit Frames > Raid > Text and Frame)
- Minimap: The addon buttons drawer now opens from a button in the map's bottom-right corner, sweeping out along the bottom of the map, and holds the game's addon menu entries too; it no longer covers the top of the quest tracker
- Action bars: Pressed buttons spring back, and the out-of-range and out-of-power tints fade instead of flicking
- Nameplates: Your target's plate glides up to its size and its outline or glow draws itself on from left to right (and back off when you clear it); the other plates now keep their size (they shrank before), so targeting in a crowd stays smooth
Fixed
- Unit frames: Moving the health or power text with its sliders no longer errors while a frame shows health in combat or a battleground
- Nameplates: Much less stutter when you turn the camera in a crowd: a plate coming into view is set up once instead of twice and reads its tooltip once, and quest-log updates are checked once per burst
- Chat: The Copy window opens at the newest lines instead of the oldest
- Raid frames: Debuffs you can dispel show on raid and party frames in battlegrounds again (the corner icon, its colored edge, the dispel border and "Only ones I can dispel")
- Nameplates: Targeting or clearing a target in a crowd no longer makes every plate shuffle around and drop frames for several seconds
- Skins: The friends list is in our look again: the game rebuilt it as a new window (side tabs, friend cards, a search bar), and the skin now dresses that one
- Skins: Icon tabs down a window's side (the world map's quest tabs, the friends list) no longer show a big tinted block behind the selected one; the search box sits in our look
- Appearance: With Use it for the game's text too on, the scrolling combat text over your character no longer spaces its letters out ("B l o c k")
- Setup guide: A character you already set up no longer gets the setup guide again when it's on one of the game's Edit Mode layouts: DaylightUI puts its own layout back and asks for a reload
- Setup guide: No longer writes a debug log into your saved settings at every login, and clears the one it left
- Cooldown Manager: /dui cdm place with a block number past the last block now says which new block it filled
- Quest tracker: A quest item's cooldown sweep can't cause an error when the game hides its timing (restricted fights)
- Raid frames: A setting changed during a battleground, boss fight or keystone now reaches the dispel highlights, aura icons, Cooldown Manager aura icons and buff/debuff bars once it ends, instead of failing silently
- Quest tracker: No more big black box under the minimap (the game's own tracker background), seen on new characters with controller mode on
