Chat Forever

Chat Forever gives the default chat window a new look and a set of the features players usually need an extra addon for. It builds on the game’s own chat, so your channels, tabs, whispers and the block list all work as before.

Look

• Wooden panel with a bronze metal border, matching Achievements Forever.
• Restyled tabs, edit box, scroll arrows and button column (chat menu, channels, Social, voice, text to speech).
• Pick any font, including those registered through LibSharedMedia, with size, outline and shadow options, and a live preview.
• Separate opacity for the window and for the text.

Features

• Timestamps in a margin beside the messages, with a divider along each message, however many lines it wraps to.
• Copy chat: one click opens the current tab as plain text you can select and copy.
• Clickable links (off by default): web addresses become links. Clicking one shows a warning first, then the address ready to copy.
• Fading: the window fades out when idle and back in when you hover it, type, or a message arrives. Fade out and fade in times are adjustable.
• Layout: edit box on top or bottom, tabs on top or bottom.
• Hide the Combat Log tab if you never use it.
• Minimap button (works with HidingBar and similar). Left-click for copy chat, right-click for options.

Notes

• The game’s own block list is untouched: right-click a name and choose Ignore.
• Timestamps only apply to messages received while the addon is on.
• The game cannot open a browser, so links are copied, not opened.
