Telling tales

• A campfire button: click it and your character tells a short tale in chat.
• Close to 700 built-in tales, picked to fit your character and where you are:
  • race, class, and race + class pairs
  • zone (41 zones, including Mount Hyjal)
  • level (rookie, veteran and hero tales)
  • holidays: Hallow's End, Winter Veil, Midsummer and Love is in the Air
• Rare legendary tales, with a gold screen flash and a sound.
• Humour setting: Mixed, Cozy only, or Dark & sharp only.
• No repeats: tales you tell, and tales the addon hears other players tell, are skipped for a while.
• Choose the chat channel: say, yell, emote, party, raid, guild, or auto.

Tale Book

• Browse every tale, filter by character, favourites, banned, your own or dark, and search.
• Star favourites so they come up more often; ban tales you're tired of.
• Write, edit and delete your own tales, and choose who can tell them.
• Import many tales at once by pasting a list.

Settings

• A settings page in the game's Options, under AddOns.
• Chat commands: type /banter help (/tale works too).

Safety

• Tales are cleaned before they're sent: no colour codes, links or hidden characters.
• A cooldown between tales, so the button can't be used to spam chat.
• Limits on your own tales: 10 to 220 characters each, 100 per import, 500 in total.
• Legendary flashes caused by other players happen at most once a minute, and can be turned off.
