BreakFree
v1.0.0 (2026-10-29)
Full Changelog Previous Releases
- Version 1.0.0 for the first BreakFree release
Co-authored-by: Isaac no-reply@databricks.com - Connect CurseForge project 1773066; version 1.1.0
First BreakFree release will be v1.1.0 (v1.0.0 is the earlier
TrinketNow release).
Co-authored-by: Isaac no-reply@databricks.com - Rename the addon to BreakFree
It now suggests racial abilities as well as the PvP trinket, so the name
covers any way out of crowd control. Folder, TOC, saved variables
(BreakFreeDB), frame names, globals and slash commands (/bf,
/breakfree) are renamed. The deleted CurseForge project's ID is removed
from the TOC; add the new project's ID once it exists.
Co-authored-by: Isaac no-reply@databricks.com - Racial CC-break alerts on WoW Forever
When the player's racial ability can break the current effect and is
ready, its icon is shown instead of the trinket's, saving the trinket;
it also works with no trinket equipped. From Forever's client data:
Will of the Forsaken (charm/fear/sleep), Will to Survive (stuns, new
Human racial), Escape Artist (roots, slows) and Stoneform (poisons:
Wyvern Sting, Blind). No shared cooldown with the trinket on Forever.- Catalog entries carry the game's mechanic and dispel type; unlisted
effects map their loss-of-control type to a mechanic. - Racial cooldowns tracked from our own casts, corrected from the
client's cooldown when readable (GCD ignored). - For 1 s after a trinket/racial use the icon only hides, so it never
flashes another escape while the effect clears. - Options: Racial abilities section (Effects tab), per racial; greyed
when not on Forever or not known. /tn debug lists racials. - Midnight stays trinket-only.

- Connect CurseForge project 1772734
Adds X-Curse-Project-ID to the TOC so tagged releases upload to
CurseForge (CF_API_KEY secret is set). README: current token URL on the
authors portal, and Forever + Midnight as release targets.
Co-authored-by: Isaac no-reply@databricks.com - Add MIT license
Co-authored-by: Isaac no-reply@databricks.com - Add the TrinketNow logo (Horde-inspired)
media/logo.png (400x400, for CurseForge) and its SVG source; shown at
the top of the README. media/ is excluded from the addon package.
Co-authored-by: Isaac no-reply@databricks.com - Options status: say which trinket slot, without the spell ID
Co-authored-by: Isaac no-reply@databricks.com - Find the trinket when its item data finishes loading after login
At login the client may not have loaded the trinket's data yet, so its
on-use spell reads as nil and the trinket wasn't recognised until some
other refresh (e.g. toggling an option) ran. Now the item data is
requested and the trinket is re-detected on GET_ITEM_INFO_RECEIVED, and
again whenever the options open. The options status lists each trinket
slot's item and on-use spell when no PvP trinket is found. Also
recognise retail's older Gladiator's Medallion (277179).
Co-authored-by: Isaac no-reply@databricks.com - Validate the spell catalog against Forever's client data
Checked every ID against wago.tools DB2 for Forever build 1.60.1.70685:
all exist, names match, and each has a crowd-control mechanic or aura.- Fix: Freeze (27868) is a root, not a stun; drop 7093 from Hunter
Intimidation (a fear, not the pet's stun). - Add player CC that was missing: Impact, Frostbite, Blackout, Starfire
Stun, Pyroclasm, Seal of Justice stun, Improved Concussive Shot,
Entrapment, Improved Wing Clip, Counterattack. - Recognise Forever's own PvP Trinket spells (438273, 443630, 474386);
42292 doesn't exist on Forever.

- Fix: Freeze (27868) is a root, not a stun; drop 7093 from Hunter
- Treat every Polymorph variant as one spell
Cow, Chicken and Sheep were separate entries in the Mage list; they are
now ranks of the single Polymorph entry (same key, so an existing choice
for Polymorph keeps applying).
Co-authored-by: Isaac no-reply@databricks.com - Test preview follows live settings; faction icon for previews
- The positioning placeholder and the Test preview show your faction's
insignia; real alerts show the equipped trinket's icon. No setting. - Test preview: sample 3 s effect, leaves at 'min time left' like a real
alert, then fades and scrolls with the configured settings. Each loop
reads the current settings, so changes show up while it runs. - Test button also on the Animation tab, next to the fade/scroll settings.
Co-authored-by: Isaac no-reply@databricks.com
- The positioning placeholder and the Test preview show your faction's
- Always use the equipped trinket's icon; drop the icon option
The icon is the equipped trinket's own icon. With no trinket (the
placeholder while positioning) it falls back to your faction's insignia.
Removes the icon style setting and the faction-change tracking that only
it needed.
Co-authored-by: Isaac no-reply@databricks.com - Faction icon follows faction changes and mercenary mode
The default icon is already your faction's insignia; it now also updates
while shown when your faction changes (UNIT_FACTION, a Pandaren choosing
a side) and shows the side you fight for in retail mercenary mode.
Co-authored-by: Isaac no-reply@databricks.com - Load on Midnight retail, show a real version, choose the trinket icon
- TOC: add retail 12.1.5 (120105) next to Forever (16001), so retail no
longer flags the addon as incompatible; literal version 1.0.0 instead
of the packager token, which showed up raw in unpackaged installs. - New Icon option: your faction's insignia (default), Horde insignia,
Alliance insignia, or the equipped trinket's icon. Retail's Gladiator's
Medallion uses the Alliance artwork, so it no longer forces it.

- Recognise retail's Gladiator's Medallion (336126) for testing on retail
Co-authored-by: Isaac no-reply@databricks.com - Fix code review findings: cooldown tracking, slow check, insignias
Trinket cooldown- Learn an item's cooldown only from a use we saw, so the 30 s cooldown
after equipping is no longer saved as its permanent cooldown. - Keep each item's cooldown end for the session: swapping the trinket out
and back doesn't forget it is on cooldown. Equipping starts the 30 s
equip cooldown when the client hides cooldowns (combat). - Detect uses through UseInventoryItem / UseAction / UseItemByName hooks
too, for when the cast event's spell ID is hidden. Presses while on
cooldown don't restart it; hook + cast event count once.
Slow check - Baseline is the lowest speed seen without debuffs (on foot seeded at
7 yd/s), so a speed buff ending under a DoT isn't a slow. - When the debuff count is hidden, watch speed only in combat instead
of every frame for the whole session. - A momentarily hidden run speed no longer turns slow detection off
until /reload.
Other - Classic class insignias only count for the effects they remove.
- Test preview: callbacks from a previous run can't hide a new one.
- Layout-only sliders skip trinket and slow re-checks while dragging.
Each fix has a test that fails without it (409 tests).

- CI: upload the packaged zip from the hidden .release folder
Co-authored-by: Isaac no-reply@databricks.com - Add CurseForge packaging: .pkgmeta and packager workflow
Tests and a build-only package on every push; tagged pushes publish a
GitHub release and upload to CurseForge once CF_API_KEY and the TOC's
X-Curse-Project-ID are set. Version comes from the tag.
Co-authored-by: Isaac no-reply@databricks.com - Add TrinketNow: PvP trinket notifier for WoW: Forever
Shows the PvP trinket icon while the player is under an effect worth
trinketing, and only while the trinket is equipped and off cooldown.- Loss of control (C_LossOfControl, readable for the player on Forever)
drives stuns, fears, polymorph, sap, sleep, charm, disorient and roots;
per-class spell catalog from the Forever datamine, plus by-type toggles
for unlisted effects. Silences, disarms and interrupts never count. - Slows: run-speed check while a harmful aura is up (spell IDs are
secret in PvP). - Hides on trinket use, effect removal (expiry, damage, dispel, Free
Action Potion), min-time-left threshold, unequip or death. - Event-driven; fade-out and optional scroll via AnimationGroups.
- Movable/resizable icon, options window, /tn commands, luajit tests.
