Bounty Hunter UI — Update Notes (v1.3)

New Features

  • Target Radar & Sighting History — the addon now recognizes an active contract target the moment their nameplate appears on your screen. Each sighting (zone, coordinates, time, level, race) is logged and shared with the network. A new spyglass icon on every bounty card opens the full sighting history for that contract.
  • Proximity Alert — if you're the hunter who accepted a contract, spotting your target now pops up a dedicated on-screen alert with their name, level, race, class, current location, and a reminder of the contract terms (reward + kill progress) — even if the main addon window is closed.
  • Revenge Contract popup — get killed by an enemy player, and the addon can now offer to put a bounty on them on the spot, with their info pre-filled. Won't spam you for repeat deaths from the same killer, and won't ask if you already have a contract on them.
  • Target Faction field — contracts now let you specify whether the target is Alliance or Horde, shown as a colored tag on every card.
  • Contract deletion now syncs across the network — deleting an open contract used to only remove it locally, leaving other hunters able to accept a contract that no longer existed. It now properly propagates.
  • Minimap button overhaul — the icon now sits on the edge of the minimap and drags around it like other addons instead of floating anywhere on screen. Icon updated to match the "Hunters Online" pirate hat.

Fixes

  • Presence/Online detection reworked — the "Hunters Online" counter used to get stuck at 1 even with several people active in the network. Any verified contract action (creating, accepting, syncing) now counts as proof of presence, not just the dedicated presence broadcast. Online threshold extended from 5 to 30 minutes to match this less frequent, action-based detection.
  • Faster presence sync on login and whisper — logging in now actively requests presence from everyone already on the network instead of waiting up to 4 minutes; whispering a hunter now also triggers a quick presence + contract sync exchange.
  • Fixed a crash that could hide unrelated bounty cards — a single contract with a missing/corrupted field could silently abort rendering, making every other active hunt disappear from the list too. Rendering is now defensive against missing data.
  • Fixed the Revoke button, which crashed every time due to reading data it had just cleared.
  • UI polish — fixed overlapping text on bounty cards and on the new proximity alert popup; the "Complete" button now re-centers properly when "Revoke" isn't shown instead of sitting off-balance.
  • All remaining French notification text translated to English for consistency.

Notes

  • These features require both sides to be on the current version to work fully (especially the whisper handshake and contract deletion sync) — ask your hunting partners to update.
