Bounty Hunter UI — Update Notes (v1.5)

New Features

  • Map Pin on the Sighting History — each entry in a contract's sighting history now has a checkbox: tick it to drop a pin (the target's class icon) at that exact spot on the world map, and hover the pin for a tooltip recap of the target and contract (reward, kill progress). Untick to remove it. Only one pin is active at a time, and it stays put across map navigation — leave the zone and come back, it's still there as long as the checkbox is checked.
  • Manual class picker for Revenge Contracts — if the addon still can't determine your killer's class (no nameplate was visible at the moment of the kill, and the fallback lookup came up empty), the "Put a bounty on them?" popup now asks you to pick their class yourself instead of silently defaulting to Warrior.
  • Broadcast channel selector moved to the header — it's now always visible and changeable from any tab (Board, Post, My Bounties, Active Hunts), instead of being buried in "My Bounties" only. No more switching tabs just to change where your broadcasts go.

Improvements

  • Zone names in Sighting History are always in English, regardless of your own client language or the language of whoever spotted the target — no more mixed-language history entries.
  • Contract relay (network gossip) — hunters now relay contracts they know about but aren't a party to, so a contract still reaches new players joining the network even if its author and hunter are both offline at that moment. Relayed contracts are clearly marked as unconfirmed until a real sync with the author/hunter arrives.
  • Target detection via combat log — the addon also spots a contract target through nearby combat activity, not just a visible nameplate, extending detection range and improving the Sighting History and Proximity Alert.
  • Targeting or mousing over a player now checks them against your active contracts immediately, even if the contract already existed — previously this only happened when a nameplate first appeared, when you were in combat, or right when a brand-new contract was created.
  • Killer class detection for Revenge Contracts is far more reliable — it no longer depends on their nameplate being visible at the exact moment of the killing blow.
  • Faster network catch-up — the cooldown before a hunter re-broadcasts their own contracts on request dropped from 2 minutes to 30 seconds.
  • Hidden channel connection is now verified on login, with automatic retries and a clear warning if it still can't connect.

Notes

  • These improvements are best experienced when both sides are on the current version (relay, faster catch-up, and English zone names all depend on the reporting/receiving client running v1.5).
