BobDied is a small addon that records and displays a message when someone you specify has died. For instance I developed this addon in favour of our guild member Bob (hence the name). When ever bob dies (which is a lot) if anyone with the addon is capable of receiving this event it is posted to guild chat :). I then opened up the addon so that any name (even NPC's) can be recorded. However for now only one name can be recorded at a time.
Latest Updates:
1.2 <- Curse release: made usable by all.
Upon first use of this addon, it will ask you for a name to which it should record. When that player or npc dies the addon sends out a message, updating other users of the addon within your guild of the tracked deaths (if they are tracking the same name) and then prints out a message.
Deaths of the player are updated by other guild members recording the same name. Don't worry about AddonMessage spam however - this only occurs when a death is recorded and uses minimal chatter between addons.
List of current /commands
Command Prefixes: /bobdied or /bd
/bobdied or /bd - prints out a current total of deaths of the tracked unit.
/bobdied n or /bd n - followed by a name will reset and tell the addon to track the give name. (/bd n Someone)
/bobdied d or /bd d - followed by a number will update the current tracked deaths to the given number. (/bd n 1234)
/bobdied g or /bd g - prints out a current total of deaths of the tracked unit to guild chat.
Bobdied has LDB support. You can also click on the LDB to print to guild-chat, and hover-over to show a tooltip.
