BetterBags plugin that organises equipment by the WoW patch it was added in and Trade Goods by expansion, using pre-req ItemVersion Addon data.
BetterBags - ItemVersion is a categorisation plugin for BetterBags that uses ItemVersion's item database to organise items by the World of Warcraft version in which they were added.
Equipment by patch
Equipment is automatically separated by equipment slot and exact WoW patch version.
Examples:
- Back 12.0.0
- Back 12.0.7
- Back 12.1.0
- Chest 12.0.7
- Finger 12.1.0
- Trinket 12.1.0
The full patch number is intentionally retained. This makes it possible to distinguish items introduced during pre-patches and minor patches rather than grouping everything from an expansion together.
Bind-on-Equip and account-bound equipment
BoE and account-bound equipment can be separated while retaining the exact version information.

- BoE 12.1.0
- BoA 12.0.7
- BoA 12.1.0
Trade Goods by expansion
Trade Goods are separated by expansion to make cleaning and organising large inventories and banks easier.

- Trade Goods Midnight
- Trade Goods The War Within
- Trade Goods Dragonflight
- Trade Goods Shadowlands
- Trade Goods Battle for Azeroth
Utility item categories
The addon also provides separate categories for commonly accessed utility items such as Hearthstones and Mythic Keystones.
How it works
The addon is a BetterBags plugin and does not replace BetterBags. ItemVersion provides the version information used for patch-based equipment categories.

- BetterBags
- ItemVersion
The plugin does not contain its own item-version database. It uses ItemVersion's API to obtain version information and BetterBags' category system to display the resulting categories.
Items that are not handled by this plugin continue to use BetterBags' normal categorisation.
