BestGear is a World of Warcraft addon built to help you evaluate, compare, simulate and plan your gear in The Burning Crusade Anniversary.

Instead of relying only on item level, BestGear evaluates equipment using class/spec profiles, configurable stat weights, caps and your current gear to show how an item actually affects your build.

From individual item comparisons to complete BIS sets, BestGear gives you the tools to make better gearing decisions without having to manually calculate every stat.

🧠 More Than an Item Score

BestGear is not designed to blindly decide what you should equip.

Its goal is to provide a consistent comparison framework based on your:

Class • Specialization • Build • Stat Weights • Caps • Current Equipment

A higher BestGear Score is useful information, but encounter mechanics, set bonuses, special effects, PvP utility and personal strategy can still influence the best choice.

BestGear is a decision-making tool, not a replacement for player knowledge.

🏆 BIS & Phase Progression

The BIS system lets you browse gear for the major TBC progression phases:

P1 — Tier 4
P2 — Tier 5
P3 — Tier 6
P4 — Zul'Aman
P5 — Sunwell Plateau

Each slot can include multiple BIS/alternative choices, allowing you to explore realistic gear progression instead of looking only at a single theoretical final item.

🧪 Gear Simulation

The Simulation tab lets you create an entire virtual character setup without changing your equipped gear.

You can load BIS/ALT equipment, use META builds, replace individual slots and immediately see how the complete setup affects your final stats and BestGear Score.

Simulations can also be saved for later comparison.

⚙️ Scoring Profiles

BestGear profiles control how equipment is evaluated.

You can:

• Use predefined profiles
• Create custom profiles
• Copy your active profile
• Adjust individual stat weights
• Choose a base specialization
• Import Pawn profiles
• Save multiple builds
• Switch profiles instantly

This makes BestGear useful both for players who want a fast upgrade indicator and for advanced players who want full control over gear evaluation.

🔍 BEST FOR Tooltips

BestGear includes class/spec BIS information directly in item tooltips.

When an item is part of the BIS database, the tooltip can show which specialization considers it:

BIS or ALT

for the currently selected progression Phase.

This makes it much easier to identify valuable items for your current character or other classes without opening another addon.
