Description
BattleChatter
Because apparently your party expects you to read.
Ever miss an important party message because you're too busy trying not to die?
Yeah. Us too.
BattleChatter is a lightweight, customizable Party and Instance chat overlay designed to make group communication easier to notice during World of Warcraft gameplay, especially Mythic+ dungeons.
Messages appear in a movable overlay, remain visible briefly, and fade away automatically. No extra permanent chat window cluttering up your screen.
Simple idea. Surprisingly useful.
Why BattleChatter? Can't I Just Make Another Chat Window?
Absolutely. And honestly, that works just fine for a lot of players.
You can create a separate Blizzard chat window, filter it to Party and Instance chat, move it wherever you want, and call it a day.
But BattleChatter was built to solve a slightly different problem.
It's not about where your chat window is. It's about whether you actually notice what's being said.
When you're deep into a Mythic+ dungeon, you're watching nameplates, interrupts, health bars, cooldowns, mechanics, and about a dozen other things trying to kill you.
Meanwhile, your healer just typed, "mana."
You didn't see it.
And now you're pulling the next three packs. Congratulations. LOL.
BattleChatter brings those messages directly into your field of view, displays them temporarily, and fades them away when they're no longer needed.
No additional permanent chat window taking up screen space. No digging through old messages. Just recent party communication where you're more likely to notice it.
BattleChatter doesn't replace Blizzard chat. It complements it.
It's a simple solution to a small but very real problem.
And if you've ever missed an important party message in the middle of a pull, you probably already understand why it exists.

Getting Started
Type /bc in-game to open BattleChatter's settings.
Choose a theme, adjust the appearance, and position the overlay wherever you like.
Use Test Mode or the Pug Simulator to preview your changes without needing a party.
Then jump into a dungeon and carry on doing what you do best.
Hopefully that includes reading what your healer says.
What's Next? Oh, We're Not Done Yet.
BattleChatter might be out in the wild, but we've got plenty more planned!
More themes? Absolutely.
More fonts and customization? You bet.
More characters, ridiculous conversations, and questionable life decisions? Unfortunately, yes.
We're planning additional themes, expanded font options, quality-of-life improvements, more of The Cast, and regular updates as we go.
And speaking of The Cast...
The Pug Simulator Was an Accident. Seriously.
No, really. LOL.
Originally, we just needed a way to test BattleChatter without dragging actual players into a party every five minutes.
Simple enough, right?
Well, one thing led to another, a few jokes got out of hand, and suddenly we had 15 fictional characters with their own personalities, an increasingly dysfunctional dungeon group, and a Blood Death Knight named GraveMistake who seems determined to give his healer a nervous breakdown.
Nobody planned this.
We're not entirely sure how it happened.
But here we are.
And naturally, we're going to make it worse. More characters, more conversations, and more completely unnecessary dungeon drama are planned for future updates.
You're welcome.
Got Ideas? We Want to Hear Them!
Seriously, we'd love your feedback.
Have an idea for a theme? A font you'd like to see? A feature that would make BattleChatter better? Found something that doesn't work quite right?
Drop a comment!
We're always open to suggestions, bug reports, and constructive criticism.
We can't promise to implement every idea. If we did, BattleChatter would probably end up becoming its own operating system.
But we will listen, and good ideas are always welcome.
At the end of the day, BattleChatter was created to solve a simple annoyance, and we'd like to keep making it better without losing sight of why it exists.
Thanks for checking it out, and happy key pushing!
