Description
Band of Brothers
A self-found, crafted-only economy tracker for WoW Classic Era. (Now with Rogue's Challenge!)
Ever wanted to run a true self-found challenge — where every piece of gear on your character was actually made by you and your crew, nothing bought off the Auction House, nothing traded from a stranger — but got tired of manually tracking every item, every craft, every slip-up? Band of Brothers does that bookkeeping for you.
Built for the "Account Found" hardcore variant: a small band of characters on one account who may only equip gear crafted by a member of their own band. No addon out there tracks this kind of challenge — Band of Brothers is purpose-built for it.
How it works
Register your characters at level 1, and the addon watches everything from there:
- Automatic crafted-item detection — the moment a band member crafts something, it's logged as legitimate for the whole band. No manual bookkeeping.
- Violation tracking — equip something that isn't band-crafted, buy from an unapproved vendor, open the Auction House, trade with another player — it gets flagged and logged, with a full history you can review anytime.
- Multiple independent bands — run more than one band, even on the same account or realm, and they never share crafting progress, vendor approvals, or history with each other. Each is its own self-contained economy.
- Death & generations — mark a fallen character dead, bring in a fresh level-1 replacement of the same name, and the addon tracks the whole lineage — deaths, generation count, the works.
- Band History — a running "Day N" log of milestones: first crafted item, level-ups, deaths, and anything else you want to log manually. A nice built-in record of the whole run.
Fully customizable — not locked into one ruleset
This is the part that sets it apart: 12 individually toggleable rules, per band, so you can run the exact version of the challenge you want:
- Shields, thrown weapons, trinkets, wands, and bags — each can require band-crafted gear or stay exempt
- Jewelry — allow only self-fished, or ban it outright
- Hunters — Guns only, or open it up to Bows too
- Scrolls — banned entirely, or allowed like potions
- Buying raw materials from vendors — on or off
- Mail between your own band members — allowed, or banned entirely for true isolation
- One character per class — enforced or not
- True permadeath — no replacement, ever, if you want the hardest possible version
Run it loose for a casual self-found season, or lock every setting down for the strictest crafted-only economy in the game. It's your challenge.
Everything's a button — no command memorization required
The whole thing is built around an in-game window, not a slash-command interface. Add characters, mark deaths, approve vendors, review violations, adjust rules — all clickable. (Power users can still drive everything from /bob if they prefer.)
What it won't do
Band of Brothers can't prevent anything — WoW addons can't block player actions. It's a detection and logging tool for an honor-system challenge. That's the whole point: you're not being policed, you're keeping yourself honest.
