Azeroth Hearts 0.11.0: Apps, games & gossip
Your phone gets a home screen full of apps, a matchmaker, three mini-games and its own Twitter, and it finally looks like it belongs in Azeroth.
A real phone
- A home screen with apps. Opening the phone shows the time, where you are, a quest tracker (your next date, Zizzi's request, any errand) and every feature as an app: Messages, Photos, Journal, Black Book, Squawk, Murloc Match, Love Letters, Nearby, Zizzi and Settings. New things make an icon glow like a proc, with a count in the corner.
- It looks like it came out of the game. Real game icons, gold-framed title bars, their texts as tooltips and yours on parchment, replies on the game's red buttons, and a target-frame chat header with your hearts as a pink bar. A text that arrives while you're in another app pops up as a whisper.
- Everything opens on the phone. The Journal, the Little Black Book and Settings are apps now, not separate windows.
- Love Letter phones. Every phone wears valentine paper in a gold frame, coloured by your phone case. The flip opens over a real hinge and keypad; the Fold is one wide screen that bends in the middle.
- Collect hearts for your phone. The heart on your phone is its home button. Start with Classic and earn Ruby, Gold Locket, Winged, Cupid's Arrow and Two Hearts. Pick one in Settings > Phone.
- The Fold uses both screens. Your conversations on the left and the open chat on the right; the Squawk feed beside the open post; Murloc Match beside your opponent's trash talk; a Today panel beside the home screen. A gold tab on the side opens and closes it.
- Smaller phones, at 85% of their old size, with a Phone size slider (60% to 110%) in Settings > Buttons.
Squawk
- The phone's own Twitter. Your romances post about their day in their own voice, 40 posts each, more personal as you grow closer. The town crowd posts about wherever you are, holidays trend, and the things you do (a new zone, a level, a dungeon, a date, a gift, a flirt, a title) get posted about.
- Like and reply. They notice your likes. Reply once from three choices, and the tone they love fills their heart a little.
- Followers grow as you charm people. Nothing repeats for three weeks.
Mini-games
- Murloc Match. A match-3 against someone's high score: 20 moves while they trash-talk you. Win and they text you, your heart fills a little (once a day per person), and they set a new best to chase.
- Love Letters. One letter a day: fill in the blanks from three choices. Everyone has words they love and words that make them wince. They rate it out of five hearts, and the best ones are kept in your Journal.
- Dance-off. Dates with music end with an offer to dance: hit the arrows (1-4 or the arrow keys) as they cross the line. Dance well for a better ending, a little more heart and a dancing photo. "Sit this one out" always skips it.
Meet Madame Zizzi
- A matchmaker in your phone. New players get a short tour by text: who makes your heart go boom, the nearest romance, then saying hello, talking, a gift, a flirt and your first date. Each step waits until you've done it, and one tap skips the lot. Veterans meet her as a helper;
/hearts tutorialstarts the tour any time. - A daily request and a weekly column. Small requests win stickers for your phone (nine to collect); weekly goals win phone cases only she gives out: Velvet Night, Gadgetzan Sunset and Gold Leaf. No streaks to break.
- Ask Zizzi who's near you, what's next, and what someone likes, based only on what you've found out.
Flirting, the game
- /flirt, /wink or /kiss any NPC to open a small card: Compliment, Joke, Wink or Bold. Every kind of NPC loves one move and can't stand another (guards love a joke, bankers want compliments). Bold wins two hearts at once, or gets you slapped.
- Squad goals. Lookalike NPCs share their hearts: win over one Orgrimmar Grunt and the whole lot know your name.
- Five hearts each, with rewards. At three they greet you as you pass; at five they share rumours about your romances. Charm 10 people or squads in one city for a title, like Heartbreaker of Orgrimmar.
- The Little Black Book is sorted by city, with hearts, what each kind of NPC likes, your titles and the latest rumours.
More
- Photos app: everyone's photos in one gallery, with a tab for each person.
- Nearby app: who lives in the zone you're in, dates waiting here, and who you've flirted with here.
- "Today" on every profile: talks left, gift, text, selfie, errand and emotes at a glance.
- Hovering a romance shows their five hearts in the tooltip.
Changed
- The phone opens on its home screen instead of straight into Messages. Messages is the first app.
- Phone cases now colour the phone itself (the paper and its trim) instead of the screen. Screens are now a warm dark with a soft glow in your case colour.
- Settings > Phone: "Body" is now "Heart", for choosing your phone's heart.
/hearts phone bodyis replaced by/hearts phone heart <name>. - The Journal's tabs are Keepsakes, Memories, Gifts, Photos and Gossip (Gift Notes is now Gifts). The Black Book has its own view, and your love letters appear under Memories.
- The minimap menu,
/hearts config,/hearts journaland/hearts bookopen their apps on the phone. - The Fold's second screen now shows a panel for whatever you're doing (a Today panel on the home screen and in Messages, where it used to show the newest photo). It still shows their latest photo on a profile, and the big photo from the Photos app.
- Chat shows their hearts as a pink bar under their name; the Messages screen has a back arrow to the home screen.
- Profile and chat frames are gold for everyone. "Character colours" still tints the phone for each romance.
- New commands:
/hearts phone heart,/hearts phone size 60-110and/hearts tutorial.
Removed
- The 15 phone bodies from 0.10.0 (Gnomeregan Flip, Goblin Slide-o-Matic, Darkspear Juju, Kaldorei Moonshell, Apothecary, Ironforge, Stormwind Royal, Orgrimmar Warphone, Thunder Bluff Totem, Darnassian Silverleaf, Dalaran, Black Scale, Emerald Dream, Scarab, Titan Disc) are retired in favour of the Love Letter phones. Your phones, cases and progress are kept.
- The separate Journal and Settings windows. Both live on the phone now.
- The Fold's violet hinge, replaced by the gold tab.
Fixes
- WoW Forever: innkeepers without "Innkeeper" in their name now count, trainers titled by craft or class are recognised, and emotes like /flirt, /bow and /hug work.
- Opening a shop, bank, flight map, trainer or stable window no longer throws an error.
- Photos no longer show people moving for a moment before they freeze.
- The Fold's opening screen only shows their photos, never your own.
- When "Interested in" is why /flirt did nothing, chat now says so.
- Innkeeper Firebrew is a he in every line now.
