Averager

Averager — Crafting Yield & Maximum Buying Price Tracker

Averager is a World of Warcraft addon designed for goldmakers, crafters, and gatherers. It automatically tracks your crafting, cooking, milling, crushing, and salvaging yields, calculates your true empirical average yield (factoring in Multicraft and procs), and syncs with Auctionator to calculate the Maximum Profitable Buying Price for your reagents.

Never overpay for reagents again—know exactly what price ceiling makes your crafts profitable!

✨ Key Features

📊 Combination-Based Yield Tracking

  • Unique Tracking per Reagent & Recipe: Separate tracking for every combination of reagent and product (e.g. crushing different herbs or crafting different quality potions each get their own dedicated entry).
  • Multicraft & Bonus Aware: Accurately captures base recipe yields plus all bonus items from Multicraft procs.
  • 3-Decimal Precision (X.XXX): Displays average yields with high precision (e.g., 1.333, 2.250) so you can measure small statistical improvements from profession stats and gear.
  • Non-Duplicating Empirical Data: Every craft amends existing data, building an increasingly accurate statistical profile over time.

💰 Auctionator Live Price Integration

  • Real-Time AH Synchronization: Hooks directly into Auctionator’s event bus. The moment an Auction House scan finishes (shopping search or full scan), Averager recalculates all values on your screen without requiring a /reload.
  • Vendor Price Priority: Automatically uses fixed NPC vendor prices for vendor-sold reagents (vials, thread, flux) rather than overpriced AH listings.
  • Live Status Indicator: The bottom status bar shows when prices were last refreshed

🎯 Maximum Buying Price ("Max Buy") Calculation

Averager answers the ultimate crafting question: "What is the absolute maximum price I can pay for this reagent and still make a profit?"

Max Buy Price=Avg Yield×Product AH Price×0.95(AH Cut)Reagent Quantity per CraftMax Buy Price=Reagent Quantity per CraftAvg Yield×Product AH Price×0.95(AH Cut)
  • If you buy reagents at or below the Max Buy price, your craft is guaranteed to break even or profit after the 5% Auction House fee!

🖥️ Streamlined, Compact Interface

  • Rich Hover Tooltips: Hover over any row to view deep economic data:
    • Reagents consumed and current unit costs
    • Total output produced vs. tracked crafts
    • Gross revenue per craft (after 5% AH cut)
    • Reagent cost per craft
    • Net Profit / Loss per craft (color-coded in green or red)
    • Max Buy price breakdown

🛠️ How It Works (Example)

  1. You crush 1× Herb X and receive 1× Pigment Y on craft #1, and 3× Pigment Y (Multicraft proc) on craft #2.
  2. Avg Yield = (1+3)/2=2.000(1+3)/2=2.000.
  3. Pigment Y sells for 5 Gold on the Auction House.
  4. Math: Revenue per Craft=2×5g×0.95=9.5gRevenue per Craft=2×5g×0.95=9.5g
  5. Max Buy: Because 1 craft consumes 1 Herb, your Max Buy Price is 9.5 Gold.
    • Buying Herb X at ≤9.5g≤9.5g guarantees profit.
    • Buying Herb X above 9.5g9.5g will lose money.
