AutoSalute greets your group when you join a Dungeon, Mythic+, Raid, LFR run, or a regular party, says goodbye when you leave or finish, and can also welcome your Guild when you log in. Every message, every button, and every label in the options panel is automatically translated to match your game client's language — or you can force a specific language regardless of your client, and the whole addon updates instantly.

No more typing "hi" and "ty, bye" fifty times a day. Set it up once, and let AutoSalute handle it.

Key Features

🗨️ Smart context detection

AutoSalute automatically recognizes what kind of group you're in and sends your message to the right chat channel:

• Dungeon (manual or Dungeon Finder groups)
• Mythic+ (detected the moment you start a keystone, with a dedicated "GG" message when you complete it)
• Raid (normal / heroic / mythic, manually formed or queued)
• LFR (Raid Finder groups, sent to instance chat)
• Group (any regular party outside an instance)
• Guild (a one-time welcome message sent to guild chat when you log in — hello only, since there's no reliable "leaving the guild" moment to hook a goodbye onto)

Hello messages fire the moment you join; goodbye messages fire when you leave the group, when the instance ends, or when you complete a Mythic+ key — sent while you're still able to reach the right channel.

🌍 Full localization — interface AND messages

Every single piece of text — tabs, checkboxes, buttons, tooltips, chat phrases — is translated into: English, French, German, Spanish (Spain & Latin America), Portuguese (Brazil), Italian, Russian, Korean, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese.

The language is detected automatically from your game client. Prefer a different language than your client's? Force any of the 12 languages from the General tab — the whole panel rebuilds instantly, no /reload required.

✏️ Fully customizable phrases

For every context (Dungeon, Mythic+, Raid, LFR, Group, Guild), you get:

• Standard phrases, professionally translated for your language — shown individually with checkboxes so you pick exactly which ones you want in the rotation, with a live preview of the exact text that will be sent.
• Up to 3 custom phrases per category (hello and goodbye separately), written by you.
• A live counter showing exactly how many phrases are currently active (standard + custom combined), so you always know what's in play.
• A visual status indicator on each custom field, showing at a glance whether it's active or empty.

All active phrases (standard + custom) are pooled together, and AutoSalute picks one at random each time — so your group never sees the exact same message twice in a row.

🔤 Dynamic tokens

Use these placeholders anywhere in your phrases (standard or custom):

• {player} — your character's name
• {type} — automatically replaced with the content type in the current language (e.g. "dungeon", "Mythic+", "raid")

😊 Universal ASCII smileys

A built-in smiley picker lets you insert classic text emoticons (:), :D, <3, xD, o/, gg, glhf, and more) into any phrase with one click. Unlike fancy Unicode symbols, these are guaranteed to display correctly for every player, in every language, on every font — no exceptions.

⚙️ Quality-of-life controls

• Master on/off switch — instantly disable the whole addon without touching individual settings.
• Anti-spam cooldown — set a minimum delay (0–30 seconds) between messages, adjustable per second.
• Minimap button — draggable, shows current on/off status on hover, left-click toggles the addon instantly, right-click opens the settings.
• Slash commands:
  • /as — opens the settings panel
  • /as test — previews the hello/goodbye message for your current context in chat
  • /as on / /as off — quickly enable or disable the addon

🖥️ Clean, organized options panel

A tabbed interface (General, Dungeon, Mythic+, Raid, LFR, Group, Guild) keeps everything easy to find instead of one long scrolling page. Built with stable, time-tested WoW UI elements for maximum compatibility across patches.

How it works, in short

1. AutoSalute watches your group status and instance type in the background.
2. The moment you join a recognized type of content, it builds a message by randomly picking from whichever standard and custom phrases you've enabled for that context, substitutes {player}/{type}, and sends it to the appropriate chat channel.
3. The same happens in reverse when you leave, finish the content, or complete a Mythic+ key.
4. Guild hello fires once per login, if you're in a guild.

Notes

• Chat color codes and custom textures/fonts cannot be sent to other players — this is a WoW client restriction (anti-spoofing), not a limitation of this addon. Smileys use plain text characters specifically because they're guaranteed to render for everyone.
• Settings are stored account-wide (AutoSaluteDB), so they carry over between your characters on the same account.
