AutoPet is a lightweight World of Warcraft AddOn that automatically summons your chosen companion pet whenever your character becomes idle. Designed for ritualists, collectors, and players who value symbolic continuity, AutoPet ensures your companion appears without manual input — preserving immersion and honoring each character’s personal identity.
Whether you’re pausing in Valdrakken, meditating in Orgrimmar, or simply taking a moment between quests, AutoPet detects your movement state and gracefully summons the pet you’ve assigned.
With version 2.1.0, AutoPet introduces a new Day/Night Mode, allowing you to assign two different pets depending on the in‑game time. One companion for the sun. Another for the moon. A subtle aesthetic touch that follows the rhythm of Azeroth itself.
🧠 Features
🐾 Automatic pet summoning when your character becomes idle 🧬 Per‑character memory using GUID‑based storage 🌞🌙 Optional Day/Night Mode with two different pets 🧠 Advanced movement detection with stillness and motion thresholds 🛡️ Safety‑aware behavior: no summoning during combat, pet battles, taxis, vehicles, cinematics, or loss of control 🔁 Cooldown and casting awareness for smooth transitions 🧰 Chat commands to configure your preferred behavior
🔧 How to Use
-
Install the AddOn and ensure both AutoPet.lua and AutoPet_Slash.lua are loaded.
-
Summon the pet you want to save.
-
Choose your preferred mode:
🌟 Mode 1 — Fixed Pet (one pet for all times)
/autopet (or its alias /autopetcame) Saves your currently summoned pet as your fixed companion and activates Fixed Mode.
🌞🌙 Mode 2 — Day/Night (two different pets)
/autopetday Saves your current pet as your daytime companion (06:00–17:59) and activates Day/Night Mode.
/autopetnight Saves your current pet as your nighttime companion (18:00–05:59) and activates Day/Night Mode.
If one period is missing (e.g., no night pet saved), AutoPet automatically falls back to your fixed pet.
🛑 Disable AutoPet
/autopetgo Dismisses your current pet and disables automatic summoning. This also clears your saved fixed/day/night pets.
🧿 Ritual Notes
-
Each character has its own saved pets and mode.
-
Day/Night Mode allows your companion to reflect the world’s natural cycle.
-
AutoPet waits until you are truly idle before summoning.
-
It never interferes with combat or sensitive gameplay states.
-
You can update your saved pets at any time by summoning a new one and using the appropriate command.

🔁 Cooldown and casting awareness for smooth transitions
-
🧰 Slash command (/autopet) to save your current pet manually
🔧 How to Use
-
Install the AddOn and ensure both AutoPet.lua and AutoPet_Slash.lua are loaded.
-
Summon your desired pet manually in-game.
-
Type /autopet in chat. This will save the pet’s GUID for your current character.
-
From now on, whenever your character becomes idle (not moving or casting), AutoPet will automatically summon your saved companion.
🧿 Ritual Notes
-
The AddOn uses per-character GUID memory, meaning each character can have a unique pet.
-
Movement detection is finely tuned: it waits until you're truly idle before summoning.
-
It avoids summoning during combat, pet battles, taxi rides, or cinematic transitions.
-
You can update your saved pet anytime by summoning a new one and typing /autopet again.
AutoPet is ideal for roleplayers, collectors, and anyone who treats companion pets as part of their character’s legacy. Let your favorite companion walk beside you — not just as a cosmetic, but as a ritual echo of your presence
