Aura Nameplate - GCD Tracker, Health Text & Unit Frames

The spell you just cast, where the fight is

Aura Nameplate draws the spell you just cast on the nameplate of whatever you are fighting, with the global cooldown sweeping over it and the time left in the middle. Your eyes stay in the centre of the screen, where the fight is, instead of dropping to the action bar to check whether the GCD has run.

Not a skin over the default plates: it draws its own icon, health text, aura row and unit windows from the game's data, which is why it survives the patches that close the interface down.

It is built on what still works. Since patch 12.0 the combat log is gone for addons, and 12.0.5 stopped instant casts by other units from firing anything at all. Aura Nameplate reads your own casts, and those of units under your command such as your pet, which never go secret in any kind of content.

Watch your own cast, not your action bar

• Icon of your last cast anchored to the plate, with the cooldown sweep on top and the countdown in the middle
• Five anchor sides with fine pixel offsets, plus width, height, opacity, border thickness and border colour
• Font, size and outline from any shared-media addon you already run
• Hover for the spell tooltip, without stealing the click from the plate
• A free, draggable position for when there is no plate to hold the icon
• An optional second source for spells other units cast with a bar, off by default, quiet when the client will not report them

Read the plate at a glance

• Health written on every plate on screen, targeted or not: percentage (85%), shortened (330K) or both together
• Its own position, size, colour and visibility rule
• The name lifted above the bar and aligned left, over a backdrop that fades from the middle to the right
• Portraits per category, off by default, with the size and side of your choice
• Its own aura row in place of the one the game draws: filter, side, icon size, spacing and count

Take the game's own switches in hand

• Every nameplate switch the client has, gathered on one page by category: players, NPCs, pets, totems and guardians, on each side
• On first run it reads your current settings instead of overwriting them. Installing the addon does not change how your nameplates look
• Stacked plates in a crowd, and friendly plates that step aside in combat and come back when the fight ends

Frames of your own

• Player, target, focus and target of target windows: health and power bars, portrait, name, class colour or a fixed colour per window, click to target
• An edit mode to place them, and the option to hide the Blizzard equivalents

Make it yours

• Three visibility modes, always, only in combat or only with a target, chosen separately for the icon and for the health
• Per-character configuration profiles, with create, copy and delete
• A six step welcome wizard with a preview that answers your choices as you make them
• Minimap button through LibDataBroker, so it shows up in data text bars too, and key bindings included

When something does not show up

/anp diag walks the same path as the drawing and tells you where it stopped: missing API, who your target is, the real keys your client uses, the state of the veils, the portraits and every step of the redraw. Paste that output into a bug report and the conversation gets a lot shorter.

Six languages

English, Português (Brasil), Español, Français, 简体中文 and 繁體中文 - interface and slash commands alike. On Chinese and Korean clients the bundled fonts step aside and the game font is used, so nothing turns into empty boxes. Locale contributions are welcome.

/anp opens the options · /anp help lists everything · /anp test aligns without a target · /anp move places the unit windows · /anp diag says where the drawing stopped. Arguments are accepted in your language too.
