Archivist for Forever – Library Books

Archivist is a lightweight library book tracker built exclusively for World of Warcraft: Forever.

It integrates directly into the Professions window and uses Blizzard’s native interface style, making it feel like another in-game profession.

The library book questline is available to all classes in Forever.

Progress tracking

Archivist uses completed quests and quest turn-in events to track permanent book deliveries.

Collecting a book or storing it in your bank does not advance reward progress. Only turning it in counts toward the rewards.

Once a turn-in has been recorded, deleting or collecting another copy of the same book does not change the permanent counter.

The currently confirmed reward milestones in the Forever beta are:

• 10 turned-in books: Necklace reward
• 20 turned-in books: Ring reward; its quest requires level 20
• 25 turned-in books: Greater Friend of the Library reward; its quest requires level 30

These milestones use the same cumulative total. The first 10 books also count toward the 20- and 25-book milestones.

Use the turned-in filter to view confirmed book deliveries.

Loot and turn-in dates

Archivist records loot and turn-in dates when it witnesses those events.

Recorded dates are displayed using the client’s localized date format. Books collected or turned in before the addon recorded them remain undated; Archivist does not guess historical dates.

Bank tracking

World of Warcraft addons cannot inspect bank contents while the bank is closed.

Open your bank and allow Archivist to finish scanning. It saves a snapshot of the tracked books stored there, preserving confirmed records across login and /reload.

While the bank is closed, Archivist uses the last confirmed snapshot. If records become uncertain, it asks you to reopen the bank and excludes those records from owned-book counts until they can be checked.

Opening Archivist

Open the Professions window and select the Archivist tab.

Since version 1.0.6, the standalone window, minimap launcher, addon settings and /archivist commands have been removed. Book-location pins remain available on zone maps and the minimap.

Beta notice

World of Warcraft: Forever is still in beta. Blizzard may change book availability, locations, quest IDs, reward requirements or interface behavior.

Archivist will be updated as the game changes. Locations that have not yet been confirmed in Forever are explicitly marked inside the addon.
