ABUI v1.5.0
What's new
Anniversary Boosted UI 1.5.0
Combat text, rebuilt.
New
- Per-type combat text toggles. Every kind of floating number now has its own on
and off switch on the Combat Text options page, colour-coded to match the
numbers it draws, with All and None buttons. Twenty types in total, covering
damage you deal, damage over time, pet and totem damage, damage you take, fall
and environmental damage, absorbs in both directions, avoidance, healing,
healing over time, overhealing, resource gains, interrupts, dispels and
killing blows. - Fifteen kinds of number the addon never drew before are now available: damage
over time (separately from direct damage, in both directions), pet and totem
damage as its own category, damage your pet takes, fall and environmental
damage, damage absorbed on you, your damage absorbed by a target, attacks you
avoid, attacks of yours that miss, healing over time you cast and receive,
healing you receive from others, overhealing, resource gains from spells,
interrupts you land, dispels and purges, and killing blows. - Fall and environmental damage is labelled with its cause, so a fall reads as
"-350 Falling" rather than an unexplained number. Drowning, fatigue, fire, lava
and slime are covered by the same setting.
Changed
- Combat text now switches off only the Blizzard categories it actually replaces,
instead of Blizzard's master combat text setting. Reputation, honor, combo
points, reactive ability alerts and low health and mana warnings keep working
while the feature is on. Profiles upgraded from an earlier version have this
corrected once, automatically. - Damage over time is separated from direct damage, and pet and totem damage from
your own, so tick and pet spam can be muted without losing your own numbers.
Both are on by default, so nothing disappears until you choose to turn it off.
Damage, Healing and Damage Taken still carry the font and size settings; every
other kind of number is drawn with one of those three, so adding categories
never overrides a font you picked. - A reminder near the top of the Combat Text page explains the duplicate numbers
rule and where to switch Blizzard's own combat text off if doubles still appear.
The /abui ctdebug report now lists any combat log event the addon received but
did not draw, by name, along with which types are switched off and how many
events each suppressed.
Fixed
- Fall damage now displays. Environmental damage was never handled by the combat
text reader, so fall, drowning, fatigue, fire, lava and slime damage produced no
number at all. - Absorbed damage now displays. Absorb events were never handled, so damage soaked by a shield was invisible in both directions. A fully absorbed hit is reported
twice by the game and is now shown only once. - Self inflicted damage, such as Hellfire or Life Tap, is counted as damage taken
instead of damage dealt. - A heal that is entirely overhealed is now shown as overhealing rather than as
real healing of the same size. - Switching the feature off restores your previous Blizzard combat text settings
instead of forcing them all on.
