Description
Anniversary Boosted UI
A clean, modern interface for The Burning Crusade Anniversary, built from scratch and simple to set up. Anniversary Boosted UI gives you a polished, cohesive interface without the long configuration sessions. It is an original addon written specifically for the Burning Crusade Anniversary client, not a reskin or a fork. A guided setup wizard walks you through each feature the first time you log in, so you can turn on exactly what you want and skip the rest. Everything is changeable afterwards from a single options panel. It uses the current engine APIs, so frames, menus, and the minimap all behave correctly on this client rather than relying on older code that no longer works.
Please ensure any addons that may perform similar tasks are disabled such as other UIs, maps, bars, bag addons, timers, or other addons prior to launching into the game.
Core features
Unit Frames and Portraits — Custom player, target, focus, target-of-target and pet frames with class-colored health, power bars and cast bars. Choose your portrait style: the 3D Head Box, a square live 3D head with the name, cast bar, health and power stacked beside it and coloured by the target's reaction; a Full 3D Portrait where the health bar itself becomes a live animated model with a per-unit camera you can frame to taste; a simpler inline 3D portrait; or keep Blizzard's own default frames. Health and power text sizes are adjustable per unit, the cast bar can sit below, above or to the right of the mana bar, and the buffs on your frames can be resized, repositioned and sorted by time remaining.
Arena Portraits — Compact frames for the enemy team during an arena match, shown only inside an arena and moved as a single block. Left click targets, right click opens the unit menu. Includes enemy cast bars, a PvP trinket cooldown tracker, an outline on whoever you are currently targeting or focusing, a readout of who each opponent is targeting, a healer marker applied the first time an opponent heals, and fading for opponents who move out of range. Because an arena only gives you about a minute before the gates open, a test mode puts sample opponents on screen so the block can be placed and sized in advance. Found at the bottom of the Unit Frames and Portraits page.
Interrupt Alert — Tells you the moment your target, focus or an arena opponent begins a cast you can interrupt. It lights up your interrupt on the action bar, shows a center-screen alert with the enemy spell and a cast timer, plays a sound, and flashes that opponent's arena cast bar. Your interrupt is detected from your class, with a manual override if the detection is wrong. It stays quiet while your interrupt is on cooldown and when the cast cannot be interrupted, so the alert always means something. Works in battlegrounds and out in the world, not only in arenas. An optional clickable button bound to your class's interrupt is available as well. Found at the bottom of the Unit Frames and Portraits page.
Battleground Frames — Moves and resizes the battleground display the game draws for you: the score readout across the top of the screen, the capture meter, the end-of-match scoreboard and the battleground map. Each piece is turned on separately and has its own size slider. Because these frames only exist while you are inside a battleground, a preview mode draws stand-ins in their place so the layout can be set up in advance; they disappear on their own the moment the real frames appear. If another addon already moves one of these frames, this addon leaves that one alone and tells you which addon has it.
Modern Bags — Choose how your bags look, from three styles. Blizzard default leaves them exactly as the game ships. Modern keeps your five separate bags where they are and restyles them to match the rest of the addon, with a flat dark backdrop and quality-coloured item borders; it changes appearance only, so nothing about how items behave changes. One bag window replaces them with a single grid holding the backpack and all four bags together, with a search box that dims anything not matching, stack counts, cooldown swipes and a free slot counter, opened by your normal bag key and closed with Escape. Both custom styles can tint empty slots so free space reads at a glance. Items work normally in every style, including during combat.
Action Bar Styling — A flat, modern re-skin of Blizzard's action bars with optional range and resource coloring, numeric cooldown text, custom layout and combat or mouseover fade. Each bar is clearly labeled, and you can hide individual bars, hide Blizzard's experience and reputation bars, or replace them with a slim, modern experience and reputation bar of your own.
Square Minimap — A clean square minimap that matches the modern look, with a round option if you prefer it, an adjustable size, mouse-wheel zoom and tidy zone and clock text. Minimap buttons from other addons can optionally be unlocked and dragged around the edge, with their positions remembered between sessions.
Info Bar — A movable bar of clickable panels: bags, durability, location, gold, FPS and latency, plus quick menu buttons for character, spellbook, talents, quests, guild, world map and help. Shift-click or drag a bag to swap it.
Casting Bar — A modern player cast bar with a spell icon and a red latency safe-zone.
Character Stats — A clean side panel on your character pane with the extended stats Blizzard leaves out.
Range Finder — An on-screen readout of the distance to your target, in 5-yard brackets. Needs WeakAuras or MaxDps installed for the range data.
Threat Meter — A live threat list for your current target.
Optional features
Chat Styling — Cleaner chat with clickable web links and an optional heavier font.
Combat Text — Your own floating damage and healing numbers, with per-type fonts and colors and several animation styles, including Fountain, Scroll, Fan, Rain and Pop, plus an extra punch on critical hits. Twenty separate on and off switches let you show exactly the numbers you care about and nothing else, covering damage you deal, damage over time, pet and totem damage, damage you take, fall and environmental damage labelled with its cause, absorbs in both directions, avoidance, healing, overhealing, resource gains, interrupts, dispels and killing blows. Only the Blizzard combat text categories this replaces are switched off, so reputation, honor, combo points and low health warnings keep working as normal.
Loss of Control — A center-screen alert for every loss of control on you, such as stun, fear, sheep, silence, interrupt and root, showing the most important one with the longest time left and a live countdown. It can also preview the next effect in line.
Crowd Control — Tracks the crowd control you put on enemies, such as sheep, sap, banish, freezing trap, shackle, hibernate, roots, fear, death coil, charm and stuns, each with a spell icon, the target's name and a plain countdown so you know exactly when it is about to break. Crowd control applied by your pet is tracked too.
Totem Timer — A shaman-only bar of active totems with countdown timers.
Profiles and setup
- Per-character profiles so each of your characters keeps its own layout.
- Create, copy and switch profiles at any time.
- A first-run setup wizard that walks through every feature one step at a time, ending with naming and saving your profile.
- Move mode lets you clear the screen and drag every frame at once, then press Escape to lock it all back.
Getting started
- Type /abui to open the options panel.
- Type /abui setup to run the welcome wizard again at any time.
- Type /abui move to enter Move mode and reposition your frames.
- Type /abui bags, /abui arena, /abui interrupt or /abui pvp to reach the newer features directly.
- For the cleanest result, disable other full-UI, minimap or bag addons such as ElvUI, SexyMap or Bagnon, since they compete for the same frames.
A note on originality
- This addon is an original, from-scratch project. All of the Lua here is written specifically for the Anniversary client.
