Description
AegisHUD
A compact, class-colored HUD for your remaining absorb shields, with an optional shield cooldown or Weakened Soul timer.
AegisHUD shows the total damage absorption reported by the game as a segmented arc near your character, with a readable number underneath. As incoming damage consumes your shields, the number and arc update.
Features
- Live total absorb value and a segmented shield arc in your character's class color.
- Optional smooth timer arc: Weakened Soul for priests, or a selected known shield/defensive cooldown for other supported classes.
- Optional red warning zone with an adjustable 5-50% threshold. The lower segments mark the warning zone; when only this portion remains, all remaining segments are red.
- Adjustable HUD scale, font size, independent number scale, arc spacing, side swapping, and draggable position.
- Visibility modes for active shields/timers, combat only, or always.
- Minimap settings in the logo's cyan/gold style, organized into Display, Layout and Behavior tabs.
- English and German language selection.
- Event-driven absorb updates and native UI widgets; no required third-party libraries.
Getting started
- Install AegisHUD and restart WoW.
- Click its minimap icon to open settings. If a minimap-button collector is installed, look in its button tray.
- Use preview or move mode to adjust the HUD. Closing settings restores live mode and locks its position.
- Priests: apply a shield once outside combat to learn the Weakened Soul profile if it has not been learned yet.
There is no AegisHUD key binding. Settings can also be opened through WoW's addon settings.
Compatibility and tracking
This release targets the WoW Classic beta client with Interface version 16001. Priest behavior and the new UI have been tested in-game by the author. Other classes still require full in-game validation; available spells depend on the client and character.
The shield number is the combined remaining damage absorption reported by the game. Individual shield sources are not separated. Adding another recognized shield establishes the current combined absorption as the full-arc reference. Manual calibration is available in settings.
The timer tracks the selected spell; it does not automatically switch to the last shield cast. Cooldown availability does not account for mana or all other casting restrictions. Some defensive cooldown presets are not absorb shields.
During combat, Weakened Soul uses native aura property matching based on the saved profile. Matching is approximate: other debuffs with matching properties may also match. Timer side changes and native priest timer text changes made in combat are applied after combat.
Reporting an issue
Open /aegisdebug for live status and automatically captured addon errors. Include your client version, class, shield spell, observed behavior, and the relevant diagnostic text or BugSack error.
The error buffer contains up to 60 entries in memory and is cleared on reload. No persistent logs or log files are written. /aegisdebug clear empties it manually.
