Aegis Guild Hall v1.3.0
What's new
### Added
- **See your guild's empty house plots.** Each neighborhood on the
Neighborhoods tab now shows its empty plots next to its house count, for
example "53 (2)". Pick "Empty" in the sort menu to list a neighborhood's
open plots by number. Scan Guild Houses once after updating to fill them in.
- **A map of each neighborhood.** Under the house list on the Neighborhoods
tab, the selected neighborhood's map shows a pin on every guild house and
every empty plot, zoomed to where the plots are. Hover a pin or a row to
light up the other and see who lives there, their rank and when they were
last on. Click either one to keep it picked, and hover the plot on the card
to visit. Searching dims the houses that don't match. Hide map folds the
map away, and Aegis remembers your choice. Scan Guild Houses once after
updating to put the empty plots on the map.
### Changed
- **Aegis sends far less sync traffic when it checks in.** Every so often,
and after every update it receives, each guildmate's Aegis tells the guild
what records it holds. That check-in used to take three messages; it now
takes one, a little over a third the size. Guildmates on different
versions of Aegis don't sync with each other until everyone has updated,
so update when you can.
- **The problem report lists sync gaps more plainly.** Each gap shows how
many records you hold of it, and each guildmate you differ from gets one
line with their total against yours.
- **Settings, About and Craft open and close more smoothly.** They used to
rearrange themselves piece by piece every time you opened or left them,
even though nothing on them had changed. Now they set themselves up once,
and again only when you resize the window or a section appears or goes
away.
- **A new Aegis logo.** The gold AGH emblem replaces the old shield on the
minimap button, the window header, the addon list and the About page.
- **The About page thanks Cozy Keep** for supporting the development of
Aegis.
- **The guild pulse bars are gone from Today.** They were meant to show 14
days of guild news, but Aegis keeps only the most recent news, which in a
busy guild is a day or two, so most of the bars always sat empty.
- **Aegis uses much less memory while you have it open.** In a big guild,
opening the window and every roster refresh used to rebuild the guild news,
the member counts and who-is-whose-alt from scratch. Now only what changed
is redone, and each roster refresh takes less time.
- **The roster refreshes at most once a minute unless the Roster tab is
open.** A big guild sends roster updates every few seconds as members log
in, log out and change zones. With the Roster tab open, Aegis still keeps
up with every one. Elsewhere, roster announcements, chat main/alt tags and
member history can now take up to a minute to catch up.
- **Guild news on Today refreshes each time you open Aegis**, instead of
every time the server announces new news.
- **The Challenges tab opens without a stutter.** On a week with many games,
the tab recounted every game's scores several times each time it drew. It
now counts them once and redraws from that until new scores arrive.
- **Less memory if your characters are in different guilds.** Aegis keeps a
history for every guild any of your characters has been in, and all of it
stayed loaded all session. Now, a minute after you log in, the guilds
your current character isn't in are packed away. They open again the next
time you log in.
- **Syncing with your guild uses less memory.** Catching up after time away
makes about a third less temporary data, everyday syncing makes less too,
and Aegis keeps less in memory for your guild's shared records. The sync
dot in the window's footer now updates every 5 seconds instead of with
every update that arrives.
- **Catching up with your guild runs smoother.** While a big sync arrived,
three parts of Aegis redid their work for every record that landed: the
Settings button's officer key warning, the Groups check for sign-ups that
still need a seat, and the chat main/alt tags. The Groups check also ran
each time a guildmate changed zone. Each now waits for the one thing it
needs. Chat main/alt tags catch up a few seconds after an alt or main
changes. The guildmate who catches you up after a long time away or a
fresh install stutters less while getting your records ready.
### Fixed
- **The Inactive count on the Roster tab matches the list.** The count read
a member's last-seen date from a different place than the Inactive filter
did, so the number on the button could differ from the members the filter
showed.
