What's new

Changed

  • The addon is called Aegis Guild Hall. That is the name in your AddOns list and on the keybindings page now; the folder, the slash command and your saved data are unchanged.

  • A housing tour's entry list carries visit buttons. Each competitor row now shows the Alliance or Horde symbol for the houses that character owns, and hovering one arms the same Visit button the roster detail uses. No address on the row: an account holds one house per faction at most, so the symbol already says which house it is, and the tooltip names it. Only competitions whose short name says "tour" get them. A symbol appears once Aegis has asked the server about that character, which the tour strip does for the open stop, so they fill in as the tour walks rather than all at once.

  • An event you create is filed in your realm's time, not your computer's. Blizzard's calendar runs on realm time, so the hour an event is stored under is the creating realm's wall clock. Aegis was reading the hour off the machine clock instead. For anyone whose computer sits in their own realm's timezone the two are the same number and nothing looked wrong, which is why it went unnoticed -- but play a US realm from Australia and an event you scheduled for 8pm was filed fifteen hours away, and Aegis then could not match it to the event it had just made. Creates now read the realm's clock, the same one the events list already converts from.

  • Items crafted is worth 5 points a craft by default, down from 25. A crafter can turn out items by the hundred in an evening, which made it the only game worth playing in a week that included it -- the first live week had one member on 18,050 points of crafting alone. This is the number the next-week popup opens at; a week already set keeps whatever its officer picked, and officers can still type any value they like.

Added

  • Aegis is publicly listed on CurseForge. It ran as a private beta in real guilds from July; 1.0.0 is the first build anyone can find and install by name.

  • Aegis tells you when you are the one who needs to update. A guild half-updated is a guild half-blind -- an older client stops exchanging records with a newer one -- and the member who has not updated is the least likely to notice, because nothing on their screen looks broken. Twice per session now, a minute after you log in and again four minutes later, Aegis says so in chat, naming the version your guildmates are on and the one you are on. It only speaks when a guildmate has actually shown Aegis a newer version, so a guild that is all on the latest never hears it, and it says nothing at all on a reload -- the two lines are once per client session, not once per login.

  • The roster shows at a glance who still has to update. Filter the roster to Aegis users and every row is washed green if that character is on the newest version anyone in the guild is running, or red if they are behind it. Rows nobody has heard a version from stay uncoloured rather than guessing. The wash is only on under that filter -- a nine-hundred-row roster in two colours is decoration, not an answer.
