ADHD Quest

Replaces long quest text with a short, plain-language version and a button to see the original — no setup required.

ADHDQuest

Long quest text, made short.

World of Warcraft quest text can run to several paragraphs of lore before it ever tells you what to actually do. ADHDQuest replaces that with a short, plain-language version — who wants what, why, and the actual objective — right where the original text used to be. A Show full text button sits next to it if you ever want the original back.

No configuration. No dependencies. No network access. It either has a summary for the quest you're looking at, or it stays out of your way and shows the normal text.

How it works

Every summary is pre-generated offline and shipped bundled inside the addon itself. Nothing is generated in real time and nothing ever leaves your computer — the addon just looks up the quest you're viewing in its own local database and swaps the text if it finds a match.

Coverage

The bundled database currently covers 26,000+ quests, spanning content across the game. Not every quest is in there yet — Blizzard's own public quest data has real gaps, so some quests were never available to summarize in the first place. Anything not yet covered just shows the standard quest text, exactly as if the addon weren't there. Coverage grows with future updates.

Features

  • In-place replacement — the summary appears exactly where the original description does, not in a separate window you have to notice.
  • One click to see the original — nothing is hidden permanently, the full text is always one button away.
  • Works on the detail, progress, and turn-in pages — not just the quest-accept screen.
  • Zero setup — install it like any other addon and it works immediately.

FAQ

Why isn't every quest covered? The summaries come from Blizzard's own public quest data, which doesn't include every quest in the game — some IDs simply return nothing. Rather than guess or fabricate text, ADHDQuest just leaves those quests alone.

Does this read my screen or send any data anywhere? No. The addon only reads quest text the game already gave it (the same data any quest-log addon uses) and looks it up in its own bundled file. There's no network code in the addon at all.

Will this get updated with more quests over time? Yes — coverage is expected to grow in future versions as more of the database gets filled in.

Summaries were generated with AI assistance from quest data provided by Blizzard's official Game Data API.
