Description
Tired of paying full price for the same plan multiple times in co-op? With Shared Plans, the first person in your world to buy a plan at full price unlocks a 1-piastre copy of it for everyone else in that world.
Made for co-op. It does nothing useful in single player, so solo players don't need it. The unlock is stored in your world save, so it stays unlocked.
Installation instructions
- Create the folder Windrose\R5\Content\Paks\~mods if it doesn't exist.
- Put SharedPlans_P.pak in it. A subfolder inside ~mods is fine.
- Co-op host: when you host from your own game, Windrose runs your world on a background server. Also copy SharedPlans_P.pak into Windrose\R5\Builds\WindowsServer\R5\Content\Paks\~mods, or purchases won't unlock anything.
- Dedicated server: put the pak in the server's R5\Content\Paks\~mods folder.
- Every player in the world needs the same pak in their own game's ~mods folder.
To uninstall, delete the pak. The copy listings disappear, and your saves are unaffected.
Main features
- Covers 58 vendor listings: every plan and Style Book sold by the Brethren, Buccaneer, Civilian and Smuggler traders, plus Naval Tactics I–V.
- Each covered listing gets a 1-piastre copy right below it in the vendor list.
- The copy stays locked until anyone in your world buys the full-price version. After that it's unlocked for every player in that world, permanently.
- The copy doesn't need vendor reputation, so a partner who hasn't built up reputation with that trader yet can still buy it.
- Locked copies show a hint: "Requires higher reputation, or someone in your world buying this plan at full price first."
- Full-price listings are unchanged. Prices, reputation requirements and how you learn plans all work as in the base game.
Requirements
- None. You don't need UE4SS or any other mod.
Optional: Sync add-on (for worlds that already had plans before installing)
Plans you learned before installing Shared Plans don't unlock their copies, because the mod never saw those purchases. The Sync add-on fixes that, so nobody has to buy them again at full price.
How it works:
- A "sync" plan listing appears under each plan and Style Book's 1-piastre copy. It only unlocks for a player who has already learned that plan.
- Buying a sync plan listing costs 1 piastre. It records the plan as bought in your world, so its 1-piastre copy unlocks for everyone.
- Naval Tactics aren't covered. The game keeps no record of which ones you've bought, so each needs one full-price purchase.
How to use it:
- Install SharedPlans_Sync_2_P.pak alongside SharedPlans_P.pak, in the same places: every player's ~mods folder, plus the host's server folder (see Installation). Keep the file name exactly as it is, because the _2 makes it load after the main mod.
- Each player buys the sync line once for every plan they had learned before installing. Between you, that unlocks the copies for everyone. The sync line uses the same locked hint as the copies; a sync line stays locked if you haven't learned that plan.
- When everyone is done, delete SharedPlans_Sync_2_P.pak from every location. The unlocked copies stay unlocked, because they're stored in your world save. Keep SharedPlans_P.pak installed.
If a player keeps the add-on after the host has removed it, they'll still see sync lines, but buying them does nothing.
Good to know
- Plans bought before installing the mod don't unlock their copies. The optional Sync add-on (see above) unlocks the plans and Style Books you already learned. Naval Tactics still need one full-price purchase. If you're starting a new world, you don't need the add-on. You also don't need it if you're fine with someone buying those earlier plans once more at full price.
- Single player: if you also play solo worlds with the mod installed, you'll see the locked copy rows there too. They're harmless. You can remove the pak while playing solo if they bother you.
- Compatibility: the mod replaces the four vendor sell lists and the English game text file. It will conflict with mods that change those trader lists, or that also replace the English text.
- English only: the locked-listing hint is only changed in English. Other languages show the game's normal locked message.
- Game updates: a Windrose update may require a mod update. If listings look wrong after a patch, remove the mod until it's updated.
