I recreated the shrine (or temple) structure from the last screenshot on the Steam store page for Terraria. Not an exact copy, but it does summon angry spirits. Well... angry wraiths if you want to be specific.

Up in the sky somewhere. Try out a Pearlwood set before hardmode. It's surprisingly not bad!

Description

Fortune & Glory is what I like to call an alternative vanilla experience. There's no bases. No advanced wiring setups with hoiks. No all-items storage. And no fancy art builds. Just a regular large, expert mode world... with some tweaks. A couple of smaller unique structures here or there, but nothing overly fancy. Mostly subtle aesthetic additions and a some very convenient QOL improvements.

The idea with this map is to feel like it COULD have been generated naturally. Terraria already comes with some prebuilt structures, the few that I've added to the mix are intended to complement the world and not define it. I want the player to feel like its their world and not just a "taking a tour through someone's world" kind of experience.  Also, there are a handful of structures/features that I was either inspired by or slightly modified then added into the world. Anything not directly created by me will be credited to the original designer via a sign.

Also, if there's anything in my world that you like and want to add to yours, feel free. This world is public domian.

Features:

  • Elevated land features right near spawn point, good for floating bases
  • Crimson and Corrupt biomes (with a twist)
  • Worldwide subway system
  • Haunted Shrine with angry spirits (as seen on the last screenshot from the Steam store)
  • Hellevator with depth markers (mostly complete, meed to find it first)
  • Grouped floating islands
  • An Old One's arena, plus a few other battlegrounds away from the starting area
  • Platformed underworld with unique features at the ends (making it actually worth exploring)
  • Better chance of getting the Arkhalis
  • Surface lighting with biome specific lamps
  • Above ground mushroom biome
  • Cloud biome towards the east (for probe hunting)
  • An expanded gem biome (follow the west edge of the snow biome down, cant miss it)
  • Altars near by spawn point
  • and probably one or two things I forgot about

Rules:

None really...

I mean, I would play it with a fresh character.  But play it however you like. If you have a favorite accessory that you can't live without, then bring it. Just have a good time, and maybe invite some friends along for the ride.

Thank for checking out my work, and I hope you enjoy!

Fortune & Glory also comes in two flavors: Expert Mode and Normal. As someone who has logged in 300+ hours in the game, I personally prefer Expert over Normal for the challenge. Plus who doesn't love an extra accessory slot and those treasure bags! But I understand that Expert mode isn't for everyone, so a much easier Normal map is included as well.

And for those that don't already know how to install:

Open the file with winrar (or your preferred extraction app) into the world files in the same folder as your other Terraria maps >>> C:\Users\YOUR NAME\My Documents\My Games\Terraria\Worlds
