This mod adds a menu to the game that allows you to configure the field of view. The default value of 90 can be changed to any value between 50 and 140. The menu can be accessed and closed by pressing backslash. If your mouse cursor does not focus on the game after using the menu, or if the cursor is otherwise visible or invisible when the opposite is expected, simply click on the game window and/or press escape. The menu will not open while paused, so the ideal time to use it is in-game, without pausing.

As of 7/5/2026, there is no official FoV slider in the game. Official support may be added in the future. Until then, I have made this mod.

When playing at a higher FoV than intended, there will be graphical artifacts. This mod adds options to correct these problems.

The nearclip option allows you to adjust the minimum range at which things begin to render. This helps prevent seeing parts of the player model cutting off or being able to see through walls.

When at a higher FoV, the player's neck portion of the dive suit will sometimes appear on screen. The scuba mask graphic will also shrink and become cut off from the screen edge. There are separate toggles for both of these fixes.

When you save your settings, they will apply and will save to a mod folder in the usual appdata location. This will not impact your existing saved games.

INSTALL:

1) You must install UE4SS to your game. You can find instructions for that elsewhere. The installers can be found here. I recommend the latest version that isn't experimental. You can find the download you need under the "Assets" toggle at the bottom of any post on that page. DO NOT use the zDev version unless you want bad performance!

2) Extract the folder from the CameraUtilities archive. You should now have a folder with a .PAK, .UCAS, and UTOC file in it.

3) Place the entire CameraUtilities folder into your LogicMods folder. You may need to run the game once with UE4SS installed for this folder to appear. This folder is generally found here: ~Steam\steamapps\common\Subnautica2\Subnautica2\Content\Paks\LogicMods. Placing the folder in the UE4SS mods folder will not work, as this is not a UE4SS mod, but rather an Unreal blueprint mod we are using UE4SS to load.

4) Launch the game, load a save, and press backslash ( \ ) to open the menu. Set your desired settings and click save. Press backslash again to close the menu.

UNINSTALL:

1) Simply delete the CameraUtilities folder.

2) To remove your save, find the normal save game location. On Steam, this is usually %localappdata%\Subnautica2\Saved\SaveGames. There should be a "Mods" folder present. Delete CameraUtilities.sav from this folder. This will restore the default settings if you keep using the mod.
