Because a beautiful valley can always be more beautiful with more creatures flying and walking around. Experience this visual and somewhat auditory delight.

This mod adds more than 30 new entities to bring the valley to life, each with different behaviors, schedules, climates, and seasons. There's always something new to see!
Most Critters have a rest period when night falls (hereafter referred to as Curfew).
The mod includes a menu that opens with the “F8” key (by default, but you can change it in GMCM to any key or key combination!), which you can use to disable or enable any critter in your current location.

Important things at the bottom.

The Critters and their behaviors are as follows:

Bees
  • They appear from Bee Houses, up to 10 can appear from each one, but the probability decreases with each successful appearance.
  • They appear in any season except winter or rainy days.
  • They fly close to home, wander around, or may go to nearby flowers.
  • At curfew, they return to their respective homes.
  • For every Bee House, there is a chance that one or two warrior bees will appear on any other map that does not have Bee Houses, keeping watch.
  • There is a 2% chance that the queen bee will emerge from the Bee House, which is much larger than the rest. There is a much lower chance of an Easter Egg if a Bee House successfully generates all 8 bees.

Exaggerated behavior, it's not like that in the final mod, haha.

Ants
  • They appear at any time except in winter or on rainy days.
  • Red and black ants that roam the map, walking underneath certain objects.
  • During curfew, they will hide under the nearest object.
  • There is a small chance that a black ant will turn yellow and the black ants around it will follow suit. The red ants nearby will run away... (Tell me someone understood the reference). Image exaggerated behavior, it's not like that in the final mod, haha.
  • If it's going to rain the next day, you'll see more ants hanging around.
  • There is a 1% chance that the ants will enter a death spiral. Macabre, isn't it?

Cicadas
  • They appear in summer (no rain), on trees and other surfaces.
  • When you get close enough, you can hear them making sounds.
  • During curfew, they stop moving and making sounds.

Crabs
  • They appear on the beach and on the island's farm, except in winter.
  • Several more may appear if it is raining.
  • As you approach them, they will move faster.
  • At curfew, they will begin digging at the site and after a few seconds they will be almost completely buried (you will see parts still uncovered).

Dragonflies
  • They appear in summer if it doesn't rain.
  • They fly in a straight line, stay in place, and then move again.
  • In Curfew, they fly off the map.

Flies
  • They appear in any season except winter, but most frequently in summer.
  • They form a swarm of at least 10 flies and fly within a limited area.
  • During Curfew, they will slowly leave the swarm in random directions outside the map.
  • If they fly too close to a spiderweb, there's a chance they'll get caught in it and become dinner for a hungry spider. (New 1.0.3)

Grasshoppers
  • They appear in summer and fall, if it doesn't rain.
  • It jumps happily across the terrain and even reacts to your proximity.
  • During curfew, they will hide behind the nearest obstacle or grass.

Moths
  • They appear at any time except winter or when it is raining, during the night.
  • They fly over the map without any apparent destination.
  • If there is a light source nearby, they will fly close to it for a few seconds.
  • They don't have a curfew; they simply disappear when you go to sleep.

Snails
  • It appears in any season except winter, only when it rains, and is more likely to appear in spring than in summer.
  • It's extremely slow, so don't stare at it too long.
  • If you get too close, it will hide in its shell. (You cannot step on it.)
  • During curfew, it will hide in its shell.

Spiders
  • They appear in any season except winter or rainy days.
  • You will always see them on their web, walking slowly (gif x2 speed). They attach themselves to surfaces such as walls or fences.
  • During curfew, it will remain immobile in place. If you return after a while, you will only see the empty web.
  • They can have a delicious meal! (New 1.0.3)

Water Striders
  • It appears in any season except winter or when it rains.
  • It floats peacefully through the water sources, rotating and letting itself be carried along.
  • It's a chill guy.

Crickets
  • As night falls, patches of grass are randomly selected to play the sounds of crickets; if you get too close, they’ll fall silent.
  • If you destroy their hiding place, they won't make a sound again, you bad person.

Beetle
  • It appears in any season except winter or when it's raining.
  • They spend their time rolling balls of dirt and carrying them to a certain spot; they feel happy when they collect several of them.
  • If you walk over these clumps of dirt, you'll kick them, and the beetle will be forced to make more.
  • During curfew, they’ll hide under the nearest obstacle, or if there’s no other choice, they’ll burrow underground.

Bird
  • Only in the spring, between the 1st and the 4th, is there a small chance that these nests with eggs will appear in the trees.
  • The mother would show up from time to time.
  • Every 6 days, you'll see these eggs develop into adults; hopefully, you'll see them before they're gone for good.
  • There is a 1% chance that, on a rainy day, the nest will be knocked down, destroying it forever.
  • At Curfew, the mother comes back to the nest to sleep.

Butterfly
  • Now the butterflies are spinning! No more butterflies stiff as rocks, facing north and flying sideways.
  • If you stand still for a few seconds, butterflies will probably come and land on you.

Centipede
  • You'll find them at any season except in winter.
  • They hide under rocks, weeds, and branches; if you destroy them, you'll see them come out and run to the nearest obstacle.

Ghost
  • They may appear every night, late at night.
  • They don't attack you, but they just stare at you from a distance.
  • If you get too close, they'll become more transparent and eventually disappear with a terrifying scream.

Hummingbird

  • They appear in any season except winter or when it rains.
  • You'll see these creatures flying quickly all over the map.
  • If there are flowers nearby, you'll see them approaching them.
  • In Curfew, some birds fly off the map, but others can climb a tree and sleep hanging upside down.

Junimo

  • They appear at any time except in winter.
  • Unlike the workers, these are wanderers who roam the map aimlessly.
  • If you get too close, they might jump or even follow you for a while.
  • At curfew, they say goodnight and head back to the hut.
  • If you're lucky and a Hut generates 5 Junimos, there's a 50% chance an Easter egg will appear—can you find it?

Ladybug

  • They only appear in the spring and summer if it doesn't rain.
  • They fly around the map and sometimes land on a rock or a weed to eat other insects. They can also land on flowers.
  • It gets scared if you get too close.
  • In Curfew, they're getting wiped off the map.

Mantis

  • They appear in the summer and fall if it doesn't rain.
  • They appear in the grass and usually stay there.
  • Sometimes you can see them eating their new victim.
  • If you get too close, it will jump in the opposite direction.
  • If two Mantis get too close to each other, there is a small chance that they will start a fight from which only one will emerge victorious.
  • At Curfew, they hide in the grass.

Owl

  • It appears in any season except winter, usually late at night.
  • They’re always up in the treetops, watching while making some kind of noise.
  • If you get too close, they'll stare right at you.

Penguin

  • These cute creatures appear on the beach in winter.
  • They waddle around or slide on their bellies. They might also bump into you.
  • At Curfew, they're back in the water. They can also accidentally fall in while sliding.

Scorpion

  • They always appear, but only in the desert.
  • If you get too close, they'll warn you and back away.
  • If you keep getting closer, they'll run away; they'll never attack you.

Starfish

  • They appear after it rains; if it rains for several days in a row, more will appear once things settle down.
  • You'll find them on the beach or at the farm on the island.
  • You can see them moving very slowly out of the water. After a few seconds, they die—it’s tragic.
  • They stay there for a few days and then disappear.

Tadpole

  • They appear in the spring and summer in the mountains, the forest, and the secret forest.
  • They swim calmly through the water and react when you cast your fishing rod.
