Welcome to the wasteland, survivor.
This update introduces a Radiation system, deadly new Necros, dangerous illnesses, and gritty realism across the board. Survive if you can.

⚠️ Radiation System

New Lot Challenge: Radiation
Enables deadly radiation storms (requires Seasons) and adds a randomized radiation level to each lot—ranging from mild to unlivable.

Radiation Exposure
Sims gradually absorb radiation while outdoors. Prolonged exposure leads to illness or death.

Underground is Safe
Build bunkers—radiation doesn’t reach below ground level.

Geiger Counter
Scan your Sim or the lot to check radiation levels.

Available via Junk Trader or Build/Buy (if you want to cheat)

Radiation Suits
Fully protect Sims from radiation exposure.

Purchase from Longshot the Junk Trader

Radioactive Barrels
Place in Build/Buy to make custom radioactive zones.

🧟 Necros

Radiation Mutation
Sims with latent DNA instability (randomized per Sim) have a 35% chance of turning into a Necro when exposed to too much radiation. (Cheat to enable or disable this trait is under the Survive pie menu)

Immune to radiation and temperature
Cannot reproduce
Do not need to eat or use the bathroom
New motive: Ferality
Custom social interactions: "Recall Mortal Life," "Talk Pre-War History," "Worry About Going Feral"

Ferality Motive
Drops if they don’t socialize. If it hits zero—they go feral.

💀 Feral Necros

Barely Playable. Extremely Aggressive.
Feral Necros roam, attack nearby human Sims, and cannot be controlled.

Feral Traits

Unique idle animations
Only attack non-Necros
Immune to needs decay
Not attacked by other Ferals

Attack Mechanic
Every 30 Sim minutes, there’s a chance to trigger an attack.

- You’ll receive a pop-up asking how your Sim reacts
- 50/50 outcome with random consequences
- Choosing "Fight Without Weapon" also activates the mechanic
- Extreme Violence Mod compatibility: you can use it to kill Ferals directly (skips reaction mechanic)

🧠 Brainrot Illness

Mystery Meat
Scavenge or purchase from Doc the Wasteland Medic.
Cheap and convenient
Eat it too often and your Sim develops Brainrot
No cure. No mercy.

Sims can now get injured during fights or scavenging
If untreated, wounds can become infected

💧 Water Safety System

Dirty Water Collection
Grab it from puddles (requires Seasons)
Boil on Campfire
Prevent Dysentery by boiling dirty water with wood
Necros can drink dirty water without penalty

No more magical long-distance calls in the wasteland (Which is handy, because your phone is disabled anyway).

1.4 Pre-Update Patch (2 out of 2)

Great news! I was finally able to recreate the loading issue in my own game and was able to track down the files causing issues.
Bad news; I had to completely remove the overrides for the phone calls inviting your teen sims to prom. Unfortunate, but worth it for the mod to actually work properly.

Loading bug should now be fixed.
Inherited traits issue fixed.
New world 'Chestnut Ridge' de-simmed, no more sims walking around.
Survivors can now use the fridge to create meals if they have the ingredients.
Your sims will require power and the correct ingredients to cook. Off-grid fridge cooking is now basegame compatible.

1.3 Pre-Update Patch (1 out of 2)

In order to combat the issue some players are having with not being able to load into their saves, I have adjusted the files so that you can remove the overrides from the packs you do not own. Please upload any Last Exceptions to the discord linked down below.
Please delete the packs you don't own in the 'OVERRIDES' folder.

Please make sure to read through the tutorial/documentation page thoroughly!

Please also be patient whilst this mod is in it's early release, this is a huge overhaul of a mod and there will be some things I missed.
Feel free to let me know if you spot something you think I missed, you encounter an LE or simply have a suggestion for a future update.
