Update 11/7/2026: Added in a file if you never want your Sims' hand hygiene to plummet ever, getting rid of the entire "wash hands" interaction. Changed one line within the hand hygiene file to keep it always pristine. Only install this file if you want this as well!
A single file that overrides only the hand washing files.
This stops Sims from endlessly queuing up "wash hands" like they did for "get water."
They still wash their hands sometimes. After cleaning at a sink is where I saw it in testing.
This doesn't stop Sims from washing their hands after fulfilling their bladder need.
Since their "hand hygiene" still is dropping after doing interactions (everything from the loo to gardening to woohoo) they take advantage of being at a sink, I guess. The stat doesn't really effect anything else in the game, though, but for immersion you could have them wash their hands pre-food prep or something.
But they're Sims, so I added in a nerf that keeps their hand hygiene from ever dropping (inspired by my relationship decay mod) so the only hygiene they ever have to worry about is their main visible bar. This stops the worry if you cheat their needs with "make happy" or similar cheats and they were still running to the nearest sink to wash their dang hands! I think even Scruberoo doesn't affect hand hygiene! This, however, will stop them from washing their hands after they use the bathroom, which does drop their main hygiene bar (yes even Neat Sims). It's not a lot, but it does drop enough to be noticeable. There could be a work-around if anyone wants one, but it doesn't really effect my gameplay that much. Let me know.
Files affected: sink_washHands & sink_washHands_OffTheGrid, plus the stat file for hand hygiene
I just got tired of seeing it queue when they were in the middle of talking, playing an instrument, or other some such. Simple fix, simple solution.
