Update 14/7/2026: In a fit of extreme irony, I took a nap and realised I was making it much too complicated. Including a file called "burnout-simpler-fix" that is exactly what it says on the tin, locking all the trackers to zero (meaning they can never increase). Tested and it seems to work just fine! No other changes to any files, just the respective burnout trackers, which should boost compatibility. If you are worried about compatibility and just want the base game no-fog/burnout to return, use the simpler fix version.
Growing Together: We all know it, we all hate it, it's the rags-to-riches worst nemesis: burnout.
This is a comprehensive and expansive mod that goes into everywhere (I could find) that adds anything to the mental and creative burnout statistic (tracked in the background for your Sim) and sets them all to zero. All decreases are upped because I'm sure I missed some and to ensure this mod stays relevant with no need for a massive update.
This includes the passive trait burnout increases for the creative (and all related) and the genius traits (under the buffs for their traits, not altering the traits themselves).
I have also upped the decay rate for Writer's Block, because why not. Your Sims will still get it, but it'll go away much faster.
I had my testing Sim paint for basically a whole day straight (they got to level 10 and did multiple masterpieces) without a hint of burnout.
What this mod does:
1. Nerfs all "increases" to the burnout system I could find down to 0
2. Increases all "decreases" to the burnout system to a silly amount to ensure basically your Sim will never get burnout even if I missed something.
3. Upped the decay rate for Writer's Block so it goes away faster.
4. Edits all the Buff_Trait files for the relative traits to ensure they do not add to the burnout tracker
5. Ups the Quick Learner trait's skill buff from 1.1 to 1.5 for all skill increases. (I was personally offended by this number)
6. Optional: edits the "Workaholic" lifestyle to set the mental burnout tracker increases down to zero, so even if your Sim is a Workaholic, they'll still not get mental burnout.
I have included the optional "no lifestyle" pkgs in case you don't own Snowy Escape but still want to use this mod. I have included also two versions that do not include the Maker trait, in case you do not have Eco Lifestyle but still want to use this mod! Only move the one you want/need into your mods folder!
Fully compatible with my own mods, but if any mod you have modifies any of the burnout files, or the base game trait files... it might not be compatible.
