Smarter Astronaut Career helps Sims in the Astronaut Career take more responsibility for their own professional development. They’ll autonomously complete their Daily Tasks and practice the skills needed for their career, making their progression feel more natural and requiring less player micromanagement.

🚀 Autonomous Daily Tasks
Astronaut Sims will autonomously perform their career Daily Tasks, helping them stay productive without requiring you to manually direct them every day.
♟️ Autonomous Logic Skill Progression
Astronaut Sims can autonomously Play Chess to improve their Logic Skill when appropriate.
Instead of waiting for the player to constantly tell them to practice, they can naturally work on one of the important skills for their career on their own.
💪 Autonomous Fitness Skill Progression
Astronaut Sims can autonomously work out using several Fitness objects to improve their Fitness Skill, including:
- Spinning Bikes
- Treadmills
- Workout Machines
- Free Weights
This allows Astronaut Sims to naturally maintain their physical training as part of their everyday autonomy.
🛸 Smarter Rocket Science Progression
Astronaut Sims can also autonomously work on an existing Rocket project to improve their Rocket Science Skill.
However, Sims will NOT autonomously start building or rebuilding a Rocket.
The player must first manually choose Build Rocket or Rebuild Rocket. Once the project has been started, Astronaut Sims can autonomously return to the Rocket and Continue Building/Rebuilding it.
This keeps the decision to start a major Rocket project in the player’s hands while allowing Astronaut Sims to take responsibility for continuing their training afterward.
🎯 Career-Specific Autonomy
All autonomy changes from this mod are specifically designed for Sims currently working in the Astronaut Career.
Sims in other careers are not affected.
This means the mod enhances Astronaut behavior without globally changing how every Sim in your game uses Chess Tables, Fitness equipment, or Rockets.
🌟 Less Micromanagement, Smarter Astronauts
The goal of Smarter Astronaut Career isn’t to completely automate the career.
Instead, it gives Astronaut Sims more career-aware autonomy so they can:
- Complete their own Daily Tasks
- Practice Logic through Chess
- Maintain their Fitness through workouts
- Continue existing Rocket projects
- Develop the skills relevant to their profession naturally
You can still guide your Sims whenever you want — they’re simply more capable of working toward their career goals on their own.
