Hi everyone! 💕
Secret Affairs is finally here!
This mod adds a hidden affair system to The Sims 4, with emotional affairs, physical affairs, suspicion, discovery, fallout, rivalry, and final relationship decisions. It is not just a simple cheating reaction or one dramatic popup. The affair can build over time, the official partner can slowly start noticing something is wrong, other Sims can make the situation worse, and when everything finally comes out, the relationship does not just magically go back to normal.
For the screenshots in this post, I used a One Tree Hill-inspired household (currently watching it for the first time!) because the drama basically wrote itself. Lucas is dating Brooke, but he is having an affair with Peyton, and Brooke and Peyton are best friends. Nathan and Haley are also a part of this household.
The mod itself is not based on One Tree Hill. That save is just the example story I used to show how the features can play out in-game.

What Is This Mod?
Secret Affairs adds a more story-driven cheating system to the game.
Instead of treating cheating like one random event, the mod tracks affairs between specific Sim pairs. That means one Sim can have an affair with one person while still having an official partner at home, and the system remembers who the affair is with, how serious it has become, and how much damage it may cause when it comes out.
Affairs can start small, become emotionally complicated, turn physical, create suspicion, lead to confrontations, and eventually force everyone involved to deal with the fallout.
How To Use It
To start, click on your active Sim and go to:
Actions > Secret Affairs
First enable Secret Affairs on the Sim you want to use. Then build a little chemistry with the potential affair partner. The affair route is meant to begin once there is at least some romance and connection between them, not from two Sims who have no relationship at all.
</figure>
Admit The Truth currently requires at least 15 friendship and 10 romance between both sims after enabling the mod.
</figure>
</figure>
The mod is opt-in, so it is not meant to turn every random flirt in your save into a full secret affair. It is built more for storytelling, where you decide which Sims are having an affair.
Secret Affairs works with official partners such as:
- Married partners
- Engaged partners
- Significant others
- Promised partners
Emotional Affairs
Not every affair starts with WooHoo.
Some Sims start by getting too close, sharing too much, leaning on someone they probably should not be leaning on, and pretending it is harmless because nothing “technically” happened yet.
Secret Affairs includes emotional affair interactions that let the relationship build through secret closeness, private conversations, emotional reliance, and feelings that start becoming harder to deny. See the first 2 below:
</figure>
These interactions can move the affair through hidden stages, from early interest to a deeper attachment. The more romantic actions are done like woohoo, forms of kissing etc affair points increases and more interactions unlock. The more serious it becomes, the more interactions and weight it can have later.
Physical Affairs
Physical cheating is also part of the same system.
Kissing, makeouts, WooHoo, Try for Baby, and some broader romantic interactions can contribute to affair progression when the right conditions are met. These actions do not all count the same. A kiss is not as serious as WooHoo, and Try for Baby is treated as one of the bigger, riskier choices.
</figure>
Emotional and physical affairs can overlap too. A pair can become emotionally attached first and then cross the physical line later, or a physical affair can turn into something more serious over time. The official partner can catch them in the act as well.
Suspicion
Suspicion belongs to the official partner.
The official partner is the one noticing the weird behavior, the excuses, the distance, the mood changes, and the little things that do not feel right anymore.
Suspicion can build slowly before the affair is fully discovered. This means the story has room for that uncomfortable middle stage where the official partner knows something is wrong, but does not have the full truth yet.
Suspicion can grow from affair progress, risky physical behavior, hickeys, warning situations, and certain confrontation paths.
Confrontations Before Discovery
Before the affair is fully exposed, the official partner may start asking questions.
Some questions are softer and more emotional. Some are more direct. Some can push the cheater toward telling the truth, lying, deflecting, or making everything worse.
These moments are meant to feel like the relationship is cracking before it fully breaks. More interactions shows when the official partner gets more suspicious
</figure>
Traits and moods can affect how Sims respond. Some Sims may be more likely to admit the truth, while others may lie, dodge the question, or get defensive.
Discovery
Discovery can happen through built-up suspicion or direct exposure.
Direct discovery is based on the official partner actually being in the same room for a compromising physical moment. The official partner has to be close enough for it to make sense.
</figure>
</figure>
When discovery happens, the fallout can affect romance, friendship, buffs, relationship bits, and the people connected to the affair. The official relationship can take real damage, and friendship can drop below zero because betrayal is not only romantic. It also damages trust, comfort, and closeness.
The official partner may react differently depending on whether they already suspected something or were completely blindsided.
</figure>
</figure>
Hickey Evidence
Hickeys can make things worse. A cheater can receive hickey aftermath from the affair partner, and there are visible hickey marks!
</figure>
There are also cover hickey outcomes from the official partner. If the cheater is already under suspicion and WooHoos with their official partner, that can sometimes help cover their tracks a little.
So yes, the same kind of mark can either expose the affair or help hide it. Very normal. Very stable. Absolutely nothing to worry about.
Outside Warnings
Other Sims can notice things too.
A close friend may warn the official partner if they witness something serious enough. A neighbor may also become suspicious if the affair keeps happening inside the home while the official partner lives there too.
</figure>
These warning routes are meant to make the world feel less silent. The affair is not happening in a vacuum, and sometimes another Sim seeing too much can push the whole situation closer to discovery and have follow up suspicious questions based on suspicion level.
Affair Partner Reveal
At some point, the official partner may be able to ask who the affair partner is. If the official partner already knows the affair partner, the fallout can hit harder. Best friends, family members, enemies, and existing relationships can all make the situation feel different.
</figure>
Rivalry
Once the affair partner is known, the official partner and affair partner can get rivalry interactions.
</figure>
These are for the direct confrontation between the person who was betrayed and the person who became part of the affair. Depending on the situation, the official partner can ask if it was serious, how long it was planned, whether the affair partner knew about them, or tell them to stay away.
Some options are meant for anger. Some are meant for hurt. Some are meant for that awful moment where both Sims realize they may have been lied to in different ways.
After certain heavier rivalry interactions, some options temporarily hide so the menu does not become spammy.
Final Decisions
After discovery, the relationship can move toward a final decision.
The official partner can decide whether they want to try to rebuild or walk away. If they choose to try again, the cheater still has to decide what happens with the affair partner.
The where does this leave us interaction in the confrontation menu unlocks the final decision pie menu.
</figure>
</figure>
Possible outcomes include:
</figure>
Forgive And Rebuild
- Confess And Cut Ties
The cheater stays with their official partner and ends things with the affair partner. - Leave For The Affair Partner
The cheater leaves the official partner and chooses the affair partner. - Go Completely Single
The cheater chooses neither relationship and walks away from both.
Walk Away Permanently
The official partner decides the relationship is over.
</figure>
</figure>
Some final decisions use EA breakup/divorce behavior, so there may be a short pause while the game processes the relationship changes. This can be more noticeable in heavily modded saves, but the outcome should continue normally.

Gameplay Notes
For V1, I recommend one main active endgame affair partner per official relationship.
The system is pair-based and can track different relationships, but the final decision flow is designed around one main affair storyline at a time. If you have one Sim cheating with half the save, the mod may still track some of that, but the cleanest story outcome is meant for one main affair partner.
Some relationship bits and aftermath states are temporary, so the drama can fade with time. Some hidden markers are used so the mod knows what has already happened, but support/debug cleanup is available if you need to reset a storyline.
Optional Support Commands
These are just support commands for checking what is happening or reporting bugs:
- noblesse.sa.public_help
- noblesse.sa.affair_summary
- noblesse.sa.suspicion_summary
- noblesse.sa.clear_final_state
Use the cheating Sim as the active Sim before running summary commands.

Compatibility
Secret Affairs is built around EA romance and relationship systems first.
It should work alongside most mods, but mods that heavily change romance, jealousy, cheating, breakup/divorce behavior, relationship bits, or WooHoo behavior may affect how often certain features trigger.
Some romantic and physical interactions from other mods may feed into affair progression when they match the system rules, but I cannot guarantee every custom romance interaction from every mod will be detected.
